Comment-endcomment block works only directly inside survey-endsurvey.

Hi Martin

I first tested "comment/endcomment" within the centerline command to comment
some stations.
But this didn't work. A comment block is obviously not allowed within the
centerline command.
(Using # for each single line is working)

After splitting centerline into severals I could use comment block for one of
these new centerlines. This is working for me.
Thanks for the advises!
I never thought about using more than one centerline within a survey...

Yes, resurveyed part is a new/another survey.

As I wrote, divide your centreline to several centrelines in the same survey
and comment-endcomment centreline of resurveied part.

And the new resurveied part is another survey, isn’t it.

Re: [Therion] Exclude line parts in XVI export

2021-09-29 Thread Torsten Schnitter
Hi Stacho

The process of surveying an under water cave is (sometimes) like this:
- install survey line (as the navigational line is not suitable for doing
survey)
- measure the line (stick map)
- do side measurements
- remove the survey line

As the existing navigational line is sometimes not usable for survey you have
to install your own survey line.
But as the cave is visited frequently by many divers you have to remove your
survey line again as soon as possible. Usualy there should be only one line
inside an under water cave for having an absolute clear navigation.

Unfortunately sometimes you have to resurvey a part of the line. E.g. when some
side messurements are missing or even don't make sense.
But as the original survey line is not in place anymore and therefore also the
survey stations are not, you have to install a new survey line and redo the
survey.
Of course you have to start at a well known station and also end at a well know
station to connect the "new" survey correctly to the existing one.

Well, I presume I have to use the comment command to exclude all duplicate
stations.

Hmmm, how many shots would you like to hide from XVI?

You usually generate XVI once for drawing a map (unless you have a running
xtherion in the cave, which I do not assume is a case) - so
comment/uncomment should be sufficient. Especially assuming you need
entire centerline including splay shots to draw a map. Could you please
describe your workflow in detail to consider an appropriate solution?

Thanks, S.

From Thbook:

flags . set flags for following shots. The supported flags are:
surface
(for surface measurements), duplicate (for duplicated surveys),

It should solve the problem with duplicate shots and length.

You may divide your centreline to smaller ones just copy header of centreline
and endcenterline

centerline … endcenterline -> centerline … encenterline,
centerline…endcenterline, …

And simple comment…endcomment appropriate centreline.

[Therion] Exclude line parts in XVI export

2021-09-29 Thread Torsten Schnitter
Hi List

Is there an option to exclude some parts of a line in a XVI export?
It also should be exluded from all calculations of course as it is dupclicated
survey.
I couldn't find something for this in the Therion book.
E.g. with using flags for groups of data or anything else?
I would like to prevent using comments for all obsolete data to do this job.

I had to resurvey a part of a line (not complete line).
Therefore I want to export let's say station 0 to 5 from line A, then station 0
to 10 from line B and eventually station 15-18 from line A.
(station 0@lineB mailto:0@lineB = 5@lineA mailto:5@lineA and 10@lineB
mailto:10@lineB = 15@lineA mailto:15@lineA )
Aim is to exclude a part from line A in the XVI export and not to be confused
by obselete stations and shots.
"Flags splay" is good for excluding the data from calculations.
But which command is suitable for excluding parts of data in the XVI export?
Or is this not possible at all?

Thanks.
