2014-05-20 Thread Alvaro Iribarren
Hi,

I'm newbie using therion and i have any questions :

- What is the basic steps to create a drawing? :
1.- create file *.th with cave data
2.- export data to *.xvi format
3.- create a th2 file and insert xvi file
   4.- in drawing :
   a) create scrap
   b) mark point stations
   c) insert walls
   d) insert other objects and details
 .
5.- export to pdf format or other formats

   - How i can hide polygonal lines in pdf?, if i use "flag splay", don't
show
me the statistics, but if no use this option, appears polygonal lines
in
drawing but show me statistics .

It is very simple:

1. These passages must be in different scraps (let's call them above-scrap and
below-scrap). Now you need to put these scraps in two different levels. If they
exist within one map (this is probably your case), use break command to
separate map levels:

map two-passages
  above-scrap
  break
  below-scrap
endmap

In other case (if each of them is in the different map), it should work
automatically.

2. In your layout, transparency must be enabled, using "transparency on" switch
(or "-layout-transparency on" option directly in export command.) But this is
defalut - so you probably do not need to modify this. You may also need to
redefine opacity to some other value, especially if you want to print or you
are using LCD screen.

3. You need a PDF browser, that supports transparencies (e.g. Acrobat 5.0 or
newest version of Ghostscript)

Hope it helps,
S.

Thanks Stacho, for answering my other questions so quickly. I've got another
question now, that maybe you or someone else can answer...

How do I make underlying passage look paler than the main passage? I can see
that it is possible as you have successfully done it in two of the examples,
demo and demo-padavka. But I don't seem to be able to get the effect with our
own data.

Thanks,
Jenny

It is not the only problem of the map editor. I have observed several
times that after adding some object to the map (boulder, area etc.) the
editor put referrence to the new object under the end of the current scrap.
Compilation naturally generates an error, however it is very easy to repair
it when I know what is the problem now.
It would be good to check this problem for the next release, too.

Yes. Uncomment the last two lines of xtherion.ini file and changed them
as desired. Example:

# size of start line tick
set xth(gui,me,line,ticksize) 50

# width of start line tick
set xth(gui,me,line,tickwidth) 10

You may modify whatever you want. If you are running therion on Linux,
the best way is to create .therion directory in $HOME and put
xtherion.ini file there.

If you are running it on Win32, you may change in therion installation
directory, but the best way is to create your own directory with therion
settings (therion.ini and xtherion.ini) and set environment variable
THERION to this directory.

If there are any other wishes, what else should be in xtherion.ini file,
just let me know.

It is a very good idea - I will try to do it until next release.

Thanks, S.
