Hi Claudio, I guess, there are 2 versions needed? 1) eg: english text viewed | any text viewed 2) english text viewed | any text edit right? I have done both versions allready, but with two different tiddlywikis. If you tell me, if the above is right, I can give you some more pointers for edit mode. What I would do is, to have special names for the tiddlers. eg: Tiddler1 (original) and Tiddler1_fr Tiddler1_ge Tiddler1_?? for different languages. Or if you want to keep them together for lists: en_Tiddler1 (original) fr_Tiddler1, ge_Tiddler1 ... Re: [tw] TiddlyWiki Performance
It may not be practical in your case, but people get good results using DropBox to host big TiddlyWiki files. The advantage is that the TiddlyWiki file is background synced to your local folder where it can be accessed quickly. Then save changes can work much quicker, and DropBox quietly syncs the change to the server in the background. You can get DropBox from http://dropbox.com Best wishes Jeremy On Wed, Jul 21, 2010 at 8:22 AM, Bink fwu...@gmail.com wrote: Hi all, I have been using TiddlyWiki for several years now. [tw] Re: select and deselect tags for tiddlers with the ViewTemplate
I'm sorry I couldn't help you any further. I believe what you are asking for would require some changes to the JavaScript itself, which you are as welcome to do as I was (I'm not the original developer, and the original license on it wasn't clear). If you're asking *me* to make those changes, I'm afraid that I don't have time for any side programming right now. These are just some changes I made to someone else's code to make it fit my own purposes. I discussed in this group the problems I had with the original plugin, and when I couldn't get anyone to help I did it myself. Then, I was asked to release these changes back to the community, and I did so. I never intended on becoming an official maintainer for this plugin. [tw] Re: Editing/showing tiddlers side by side
FND, Thats cool. Try this transclusion: http://www.TiddlyTools.com/#SetTiddlerColumns no inline scripts, no stylesheet... setting is tracked in standard TiddlyWiki option, and can be hard-coded with simple CookieJar statement: config.options.txtTiddlerColumns='1'; Note that, because SetTiddlerColumns is a *transclusion*, it's functionality is only invoked when it is *rendered* somewhere in your document by transcluding (i.e., embedding) it via the tiddler macro. For example, you could add the following to your [[MainMenu]]: tiddler SetTiddlerColumns Because MainMenu content is always rendered during startup, embedding the transclusion there ensures that it is invoked as soon as the document is loaded, so that the initial display state, based on a previously stored option value, is actually applied. Note also that, if you like, you can enclose the tiddler macro within a tiny bit of CSS, so that the functionality will still be applied and the desired number of tiddler columns is used, but there will be no net change in the appearance of the MainMenu @@display:none;tiddler SetTiddlerColumns@@ enjoy, -e -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups TiddlyWiki group. Re: [tw] TiddlyWiki Performance
Blink, Jeremy Solution is a Good one I use it my self. I am running 8MB file with comfort. After the notes below the next step for you would be to investigate server side solutions that move the tiddlers into a DB. I cant locate the source but below is some tips I collected in the past. -- Start of notes -- Tips for speeding up performance on large TiddlyWikis javascript:; tiddlyvault, 19 September 2007 (created 5 July 2007) * Disable the animations. It may be cute to have tiddlers open with cool animation, but the animation slows performance way down. Open the OptionsPanel javascript:; and uncheck EnableAnimations javascript:;. * Save less often. Uncheck 'Autosave' and 'Save backups', and save manually every few minutes instead of saving every single change. -- Tony Says use LessBackupsPlugin - Manually save at appropriate times eg; when answering phone * Hide the growing tabbed lists in your SideBarTabs javascript:;. Every time you create a new tiddler, TabAll javascript:; and TabTimelinejavascript:;have to refresh to add the new tiddler's title. As the list of tiddlers gets longer, these tabs take longer to refresh, slowing down yourTiddlyWiki. There are three ways I know of to hide these lists: 1. The easiest way is to click on the More tab. The lists in More don't grow like the other lists. This should be a good enough solution for most users. 2. You can use the ToggleRightSidebar javascript:; plugin to hide the entire right hand sidebar of your TiddlyWiki javascript:; screen. This plugin happens to be included in this tutorial. 3. I don't necessarily recommend the following for newer users, but to remove the right hand sidebar tabs from view altogether, open PageTemplatejavascript:;and delete the following: div id='sidebarTabs' refresh='content' force='true' tiddler='SideBarTabs'/div * Michael Cimino offered this suggestion by e-mail: ...(1) add the following to the end of SidebarOptions javascript:;: slider chkSliderContents [[TabContents]] 'contents »' 'contents' (2) cut out the text from SidebarTabs javascript:; and save it, leaving it blank. (3) create a new tiddler TabContents javascript:; and paste the text that used to be in SidebarTabs javascript:;, which should be: tabs txtMainTab Timeline Timeline TabTimeline All All tiddlers TabAll Tags All tags TabTags More More lists TabMore Now, you can collapse that area of the Sidebar whenever you wish, and its state will be saved in a cookie!
