Hi Skye,

thanks for your answer. It gives me a possible solution for my
problem.
I will have a further look on the "source code" to see how you did it.

[tw] Using TagglyTagging with different themes

2012-04-25 Thread springcat
I have trying to use the TagglyTagging plugin which I find quite
useful, and I have done this, following discussion in the group
(https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/tiddlywiki/1rgnuOijj_I)
fairly OK in the TW with the Mptw theme.
However, I am having a lot of problem using the TagglyTagging with
another theme that I am working with on a more academic topic, viz.,
Mocha. I have followed instructions of how to make TT work in the
discussion group as well as at the official Mptw site of Simon Baird
(http://mptw.tiddlyspot.com/#TagglyTagging) and have manually
installed all the required ancillary plugin, etc. to my TW. Although I
have been able to use TagglyTagging with Theme Mocha, the taggly tags
at the top of a particular tiddler do not show the border that is
visible with such tags in Mptw theme. I've looked at the TTplugin/
stylesheet code, but with my very limited skills, I couldn't figure
out what to alter.
I'd be extremely grateful if you could point out the tweak that I must
perform. And apologies in advance for such an elementary question
Thanks!

I think it may be something to do with the CSS. That doesn't happen
on the demo pages for the CHAP Timeline (non TW). Anyone got any

Try placing your text after the macro. Seems to work OK for me. The
main issue seems to be that the timeline sits over the top of any
other text.

If someone can give me the javascript to get the data out of the
tiddler, I could probably try to incorporate it in. It's a bit beyond
my skills at the moment though.

Unfortunately my main problem is that I'm very time poor, and
javascript is a new language for me. Feel free to modify and improve
though.

Yes, yes. [img[url]] or something. Not the actual pic of course. (Just
maybe those urls that Picasa provide to individual pics can be
fetched?)

I guess both are desirable even if TW filtering probably makes more
sense unless the source gallery is huge and there are time issues or
such. Actually, are the tumbs shown when the whole code is done
processing or are they spit out (spitted? spitten?) one at the time in
the process? I'm asking both from a time perspetive (which clearly is
not an issue as far as I can tell but just might be with huge albums)
but I'm also asking because if they're spit/en/ed out one at a time
then I'm guessing they're easier to wrap up into tiddlers. (...here
Matias is talking about stuff he has no clue about. It has happened
before.)

No, sorry, I didn't mean a TW to replace those products. I was just
ref. to the fact that there is relatively little "about pics and
media" in TiddlyVerse relative to how big an issue it is on the
general internet. But maybe we already have the tools needed. Except
for picasagallery of course ;-)

Note: Above here, I posted some stuff I found on album ID's. This
coding is beyond me but I would assume the RSS idea could be viable
considering that RSS, if anything, is made to get things 'out'.

I found out, how it works. If we know the albumName or albumId and the
authkey, it is possible to programmatically access the album. An album
overview is restricted by picasa devs. (may be because of privacy

2012-04-25 Thread skye riquelme
Hi Wim

I actually responded to this thread a few days ago...but my response
didnt show upthanks Google

Anyway, your question actually resolved a small challenge I had so
I made a TW for my needs, that does show a little of what could be an
answer for you...MAYBE.

Its here in my site -
http://www.unigaia-brasil.org/Cursos/tagsGerador/index.html
- the content is in portuguesbut you should be able to see how it
works - for example click on the icon that looks like list...its a
List! and select say Economia the left side panel will show
the sub-items of the topic "Economia"if you click on one of those
subItems...note that the right panel now shows the sub-sub-items, AND
in the heading at the top right a bit o text appears..the
explanation for the sub-item you just clicked. If you click on a
sub-sub-item in the right panel...the heading text will also
change !!!

Note that I have not put the explanation into a popup panel.rather
it appears in a fixed position panel that hovers over the right side
of the topHeading panel. this hovering panel has a transparent
background. but text is set to black so it shows up when there
is something to show up!!!

This doesnt use any special plugins. the panels are defined and
positioned in PageTemplate and StyleSheet. while the making of
lists and text appearing in different locations is all done with some
simple bits of javascript.

I still have to clean up a few details in this TW...but I hope you get
the idea...and its useful.

Hope that helps a little.

[tw] Re: Prevent browser freezing on runaway code

2012-04-25 Thread PMario
Hi Craig,
This can happen ;)

a)
Most modern browsers have a built in "feature" that warns you if a js
programm goes wild [1]. eg: FF automatically stopps "long running
scripts" with a message. May be you disabled this behaviour at your
browser? If so, you should enable it again.

b)
Some time ago, I did find some nice articles, about optimizing loop
handling in the browser [2]. Especially the blog posts "part 1"[3] and
"part 4"[4] may be interesting for you.

c)
I'd try this mechanism first.

With TW, the DOM handling (as described in part 4) can be a reason,
why your loops are "slow". If something changes the TW layout. Eg: if
you programmatically create a new tiddler. The TW core needs to update
the right sidebar ..., which is "slow", if it needs to be done very
often. In TW there are 3 functions to temporary stop this browser
layout redraw.

store.suspendNotifications();
// your loop goes here!
store.resumeNotifications();
store.notifyAll();

see tiddlywiki.org [5] for more info

d)
Using the search term >> non blocking loop javascript << with
google, It did point me to a little library called "Clumpy" [6]
I had a short look, and it is the wrapper function you requested :)
You should start with the "for_loop" [7].

The library contains functions to create user feedback. eg: 10% -
20% 100% done!
Stopping, starting a loop is possible too. So this would be worth a
try.

c) and d) may also work, with fET. Note: may work.

hope this helps

[tw] Re: Picasa gallery display in TW

2012-04-25 Thread twgrp
Album ID

I found a thread mentioning that:

http://groups.google.com/a/googleproductforums.com/d/msg/picasa/UkAx1-JhGOI/dkAeZ9FjLvMJ
"Go to your PWA account and click on the album in question.
Click on the 'RSS' link to the right.
You should get something like the following:
picasaweb.google.com/data/feed/base/user/PWAusername/albumid/
1234567890123456789?alt=rss&kind=photo&hl=en_US
..."

This is at least better than what I described above peeking at the
page source etc. Just maybe it is possible to extract it since it
appearently does exist there as a link.
...or, just maybe the page to apply the whole picasaplugin/slimbox
should be the RSS page!?

I also found this possibly relevant thread which is a bit too cryptic
for me:
http://groups.google.com/a/googleproductforums.com/d/topic/picasa/hh1ZAvon8p8/discussion

(I don't know if it is an issue, but maybe one should be alert so they
don't discuss the Picasa desktop application instead of Picasaweb.)

Of any value? (I'm asking anybody interested in the matter of course,
not just local hero PMario ;-)

[tw] Re: NEW: LinkifyPlugin - another improved version of RedirectMacro / AutoWeaving

2012-04-25 Thread Albert Riedinger
Hi Tobias,

glad to hear that you'll put some of my suggestions on your "next actions"
list. Don't hestitate to involve me for testing or other tasks as long as
it has nothing to do with programming ;) I'm more into graphics and video,
though maybe TW could motivate me to start learning Javascript.

A) Sounds like a lot of work. But I think it's worth it, as it would make
TW more intuitive and user-friendly for non-techie people like me :)

As you suggested I've created a MTC on tiddlyspot →
http://linkifytest.tiddlyspot.com/

Hope that helps a bit. Like I said, feel free to ask for more help!

Regards,
Albert
