[tw] Re: [TWc] TreeDiagramFormatterPlugin

2017-05-16 Thread Asimov Isaac
Hi, Tobias.
I have been looking for a *Horizontal *Tree plugin for a long time.
The plugins like "family-tree" or "list-tree" can only render vertical
list, such as:

   -
   -
  - sss
  - ooo
   -

Fortunately, I found your post here, and the style in the picture below is
really the one I keep dreaming of.
However, unfortunately, all the links like " ***.tiddlyspace.com" are out
of date so I cannot access them.
Everything about the "NodeTreePlugin" or "treedg" is missing.

Would you like to tell me where to find them?
Or could you give me some advice, so I could display a horizontal tree just
with and , instead of complex items like "root","branch", "entry"
and so on.

Thank you!

BTW, I do love the plugins on your website, especially the "plantuml"
plugin. They help me a lot.

Best regards,
Asimov

Now all I need are smart tiddlers that will do the tasks for me ...

RSOD may have been a problem, that the .addTiddler() function didn't finish
its work. ... Which can result in a tiddler without "created" and/or
"modified" fields. Which in turn are responsible for tiddlers to show up in
the "recent" tab.

Mark, you can activate your personal filter and a new button for the

[tw] Missing fields in newly created tiddlers

2017-05-16 Thread Ton Gerner
Hi all,

Today, in one of my TWs I couldn't find recenlty made tiddlers: they didn't
show up under the Recent tab!
Upon inspection a newly created tiddler had only 2 fields: `tags` and
`title` while earlier created tiddlers today showed the normal expected
fields:

created 20170516100611033
creator TonGerner
modified20170516100733306
modifierTonGerner
tagsfield list
title Custom list type fields

For sure I have been fiddling around; I did some experimenting with the
Edit widget and got at a certain moment a RSOD, but got rid of the
offending tiddler.

I tried the following:

1) Start the TW in safe mode
2) Opened the TW in different browsers and TiddlyDesktop
3) Imported all tiddlers (4447 in total) in an empty TW
3A) Inspected in TW of 3) the 9 remaining overridden shadow tiddlers and
deleted 6 of them (only $:/DefaultTiddlers, $:/temp/advancedsearch
and$:/temp/search left)

All to no avail.

OS: Linux Mint v17.3
Browser(s): Firefox v53, Chrome v58, Opera v45

At the moment I am out of ideas, so any help is appreciated.

Cheers,

Ton

PMario's solution works perfectly! Thanks so much for looking it up.

BTW, from brief testing it looks to be true that the fields listed in the
reference tiddler (field-sort) can be from a variety of templates. I have
not yet tried the case where a field name is created that is not listed in
the reference tiddler.

You can use the <$wikify> widget to "render" the filter results. Assuming
the filter results are in "somevar":

<$wikify name="somevar" text=<>>
   ... your code here ...

By default <$wikify> parses the content as wikitext and renders as plain
text, so as long as the content doesn't have any wiki syntax (other than
the enclosing double square brackets), the above code will just remove the
brackets around the link text, without any other effects.

Note also how I've used the *same variable name* as both the source (text)
and target (name) for the $wikify. This is just for convenience so you
don't have to change any of your code within the <$wikify>...
block. You can, of course, use a different target name so that the
original bracketed value can still be available, if appropriate to your
use-case.

Re: [tw] Re: Custom list type fields - can these be saved and loaded?

2017-05-16 Thread 'Andreas Hahn' via TiddlyWiki

Hi Martin,

apart from whether its a good idea or not, it is indeed possible, but
the documentation on how to do it is very scarce. Basically though, I
think you would need to write a javascript module with `module-type:
tiddlerfield` that does something (probably very) similiar to what
boot.js does:

$tw.modules.define("$:/boot/tiddlerfields/tags","tiddlerfield",{
name: "tags",
parse: $tw.utils.parseStringArray,
stringify: $tw.utils.stringifyList
});

I am not 100% sure, but it seems to be what makes TW treat certain
fields differently from others. I've linked a few source code spots down
below, maybe those help you in getting this to work.

/Andreas

[3] https://github.com/Jermolene/TiddlyWiki5/blob/master/boot/boot.js#L828

P.S.: Note that in the sample code from boot.js the module seems to be
defined in-place .. in a real module you would define the options via
exports.name or exports.parse etc.

I strongly suggest using the fields as normal text and then having
whatever is using the information parse the field text appropriately.
I have been trying to move tiddlywiki away from dedicated single
purpose fields (like how the tags field always has special handling)
to using a polymorphic field model.

[tw] [TW5] Display order of custom fields

2017-05-16 Thread StephanF
Thanks ahead of time!

I use buttons to create several different styles of new journal tiddlers
that include several custom fields. The fields are created in the order i
would like them displayed when editing the resulting new tiddler, but
instead they are displayed alphabetically. How can I control/modify the
display order?
Here is an example

\define spfFinanceButton()
<$button tooltip={{$:/language/Buttons/NewJournal/Hint}}
aria-label={{$:/language/Buttons/NewJournal/Caption}}> New Finance Journal
<$action-sendmessage $message="tm-new-tiddler" title=<> tags="$(journalTags)$ jrnl_fin"
text="Financial Transaction" subject="" from="" to ="" amount=0 />

\end

when editing, the field entry area is ordered: amount, from, subject, to;
rather than in the creation order (subject, from, to, amount).

I am still a newbie, so I suspect the answer will be easy and apparent once
I know what it is!

[tw] Re: [TW5] What is this: {{||$:/core/ui/TagTemplate}}

2017-05-16 Thread Ton Gerner
Hi,

It shows up in your Tagmanager, but if you click the tag pill you don't see
tiddler(s) tagged with it?

May be better to start with an empty TW and import tiddlers from the TW
containing that tag.

Cheers,

Ton

[tw] Re: Moving all instances of specific macro into a field

2017-05-16 Thread David Allen
The problem I'm having with that (as well as the built-in splitbefore) is
in both instances, if the text contains any spaces, the block of text I
wanted isolated is surrounded in double square brackets, which I do not
want. How would I fix this?

I can't find it. Could it be embedded in the core? Maybe I was looking at a

Hello Jeremy

Sorry if I looked impolite. I can't find any particular source to make a
quote, but I asked a couple of times how to make a plugin fit into the
official plugin library and the answer was something like: "That's Jeremy's
decision"
Which, to be honest, is a true statement.

Please note that my sentence:

until mr. Ruston allows us such thing we are alone here.

means that you are the owner of tiddlywiki.com and tiddlywiki's repo,
therefore a decision like including a beta channel on the plugin library
should be supported and approved by you. Again, sorry if this is not true,
but I have the impression that you don't want to include such feature. Am I
wrong ? If so I would love to contribute to such thing.

[tw] Re: [TW5] What is this: {{||$:/core/ui/TagTemplate}}

2017-05-16 Thread Ton Gerner
Hi,

Create a tiddler 'System tags', tagged with $:/tags/MoreSideBar and
containing:

<$list filter="[all[shadows+tiddlers]tags[]is[system]sort[title]]">

<$transclude tiddler="$:/core/ui/TagTemplate"/> <$count filter="[all[current]tagging[]]"/>

This gives a tab 'System tags' under 'More' in the sidebar which lists all
system tags in your wiki.

Cheers,

Ton

This is a node tiddly wiki. Can I use grep to search for the offending

[tw] Tool to configure multi-user using Cloudant and NoteSelf

2017-05-16 Thread Danielo Rodríguez
Hello to everyone,

After several days reading CouchDB documentation, Cloudant documentation
and a couple of tickets to Cloudant support I found
the way to configure ONE SINGLE cloudant account for several users.
However *the process is tough, *and requires technical knowledge. Because
of that I'm proud to present:

NoteSelf-Cloudant configurator

It is a small ad-hoc tool designed to make this process easy (or at least
easier). It is a bit rough, and the UI must be polished, but I expect it to
work for most users.
Pre requisites should be obvious:

   - Being familiar with NoteSelf
   - Have a Cloudant account
   - Have that account configured to be used along with NoteSelf

What does this tool do?

   - Configure Cloudant with the required parameters to activate multi-user
   scenario
   - Allows the creation of new users
   - Allows to grant access to each database (AKA notebook) individually to
   each user

Users are created globally and then each user should be granted to each
database individually. Except your main user, which is added as admin to
every database.

NoteSelf will work just fine with any user you create, however it does not
sets the logged in user as author automatically. This will come in a future
release.

Hope this makes this kind of configuration easier for those that want to
try it out.

[tw] Re: Custom list type fields - can these be saved and loaded?

2017-05-16 Thread Jed Carty
It sounds like what you want to do is possible but it may not be simple. It
is certainly not behaviour that is supported out of the box, but there is
very little in tiddlywiki that could be called 'unsupported behaviour'
because of how flexible it is.

I strongly suggest using the fields as normal text and then having whatever
is using the information parse the field text appropriately. I have been
trying to move tiddlywiki away from dedicated single purpose fields (like
how the tags field always has special handling) to using a polymorphic
field model.

[tw] Re: [TW5] New version of the simple calendar plugin

2017-05-16 Thread FrD
Hi PTP,

The current version does not provide this feature. But based on the
calendar internals it should be possible to build a "quarter" calendar.
I'll have a look and keep you posted.

[tw] Custom list type fields - can these be saved and loaded?

2017-05-16 Thread emkay
Hello,

In my tiddlerdeserializer module I am creating a list field (not the
standard list nor tag fields). Let's call the field: 'parts'

When an import occurs my module runs and the field 'parts' is created as a
javascript list. This can then be read (as a list) in my javascript macro.

However when I save and reload the TW, the 'parts' field is now a normal
non-list field, i.e. a single string of characters.

Should this work, or am I straying out of supported behaviour?

Thanks

Martin
