[tw] [TW5] Popups make TiddlyWiki "dirty" (to be saved)

2017-05-22 Thread Stephan Hradek
Something I noticed after @PMario solved my popup-issue
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/tiddlywiki/C9IujCV8S0g

Each time I open one of the popups, my TW comes into a "has to be saved"
state.

Understandable as it will alway create a new tiddler to store the popup's
current state. Is there any way to render these tiddlers as
not-to-be-considered-for-saving?

It's a bit annoying as you cannot be too sure about whether or not you
actually need saving or not.

Or is it just me who doesn't like this?

[tw] Re: [TW5] Plugins Updated: ToDoNow and Listreveal

2017-05-22 Thread @TiddlyTweeter
Ciao Thomas

This plugin has helped me tremendously ...

I have a few additional ideas & comments. These are more likely "luxury
tweaks" than essentials :-).

1 - Creating new ToDo items via the Green + ...

... could it be done via a MODAL? The reason is that the ToDoNow list is
one's basic orientater. I think that items created from it would be best in
the kind of overlay that modals provide. It keeps you "closer" to that
essential ToDoNow Tiddler.

2 - Maybe also use MODALS for full Tiddler viewing too for any ToDoNow item?

3 - On the new EXTRA FILTER mechanism at: "Personal Filter"
.

Could you add a note to the documentation to cover the case of "exclude all
tiddlers tagged XXX". *That is likely the single most useful persistently
needed exclusion filter*.

To give a use case: I have lots of ToDo Tiddlers tagged "LongDates" that
manage long term payments, birthdays, contract renewals etc. I need to
track them but not see them everyday. Excluding them from normal viewing in
ToDo removes a lot of clutter.

4 - More on the EXTRA FILTER that shows up as active via this ...

Could the button be made to TOGGLE in the main ToDoNow Tiddler? So that
clicking it would alternate between: Extra Filter Applied / Extra Filter
Removed?

5 - More on the EXTRA FILTER. Could the graphic used for it better suggest
that a Personal Filter is in operation? Maybe one of these kind of symbols
... Maybe with a "plus" sign in it?

Very best wishes
Josiah

[tw] [TW5] Popup an info tiddler?

2017-05-22 Thread Stephan Hradek
Maybe someone can point me into the right direction.

I am trying to achieve the following:

I have a list of links for which I also might have an information stored in
a tiddler. So in case the information tiddler exists, I want to render an
(i) and upon click the information tiddler should pop up.

My attempt was like this:

I created an info template:

title: info
Content:
<$reveal state=<> type="nomatch" text="">
<$button class="tc-btn-invisible"
popup="!!popupstate">{{$:/core/images/info-button}}
<$reveal type="popup" state="!!popupstate">
<>

An example usage would be

{{My Useful Link Info||info}}

Unfortunately nothing pops up.

So at the moment I'm using this to just navigate to the information
tiddler, which shows that at least the info template works:

title: info
Content
<$reveal state=<> type="nomatch" text="">
<$button class="tc-btn-invisible" to=<
>>{{$:/core/images/info-button}}

Thanks for reading this and thanks in advance for every useful hint what
could be wrong.

[tw] Traping the browser shortcut CTRL+s (save)

2017-05-22 Thread Stephan Rempel
Hi,

I know, that using the browser shortcut CTRL+s (save) (under Windows)
should be avoided. Instead the button "Save changes" on the side bar should
be used.

>From https://github.com/Jermolene/TiddlyWiki5/issues/808 and the discussion
in
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=GEqXu6xay7M#t=3455
I expected that the keyboard shortcut CTRL+s is traped, which would make
the above user mistake impossible.

In test with fresh TWs v5.1.14 using the Chrom or Firefox browser) the trap
seems not to be active.

The attempt to save the TiddlyWiki with CTRL+s triggered the usual file
save dialogs.

The file on the disk after that had the expected time stamp.

In the browser UI the button "Save changes" still was shown in red, which
looked suspecious.

When closing the browser tab with the TiddlyWiki a warning is displayed,
that the contents was not saved. User closed it anyway.

Opening then the TiddlyWiki file resulted in messed layout and broken
functionality (buttons, e.g Create a new tiddler non functional, selecting
from Tools list without effect ...).

Practically the TiddlyWiki file is no longer usable.

Is there a way to add a trap for the browser shortcut CTRL+s ?

[tw] Re: TW5: table heading in-line background color

2017-05-22 Thread Ton Gerner
Hi Dave,

Dave Gifford's TW5mall doesn't exist anymore (quite a lot of table
customizations), but have a look at
http://tobibeer.github.io/tb5/#%24%3A%2Fstyles%2Ftablecell

Cheers,

Ton
