Did you search on the website ?
When I load the tiddlyspot site (http://simplecalendar.tiddlyspot.com/)
everything looks fine. But maybe the new version is cached in my browser

Hi Jed,

Nice stuff! I think I would separate the actual calendar from any theming
though.
You only do theming once and then you don't quite need it anymore, I think.
Personally, I'd prefer to just use css, though, to keep things slim,
and have any theme editor give me the calendar-css that I can "take back
home".

[tw] Re: [TW5] Calendar plugin

2015-03-31 Thread Andrew
This is really cool. You probably already have plans for this, but if you
don't, there are a couple of things that would make this the default calendar
for everyone. It would be nice if you could have several tiddlers per day
showing something that there is something that day. Also, maybe the date being
a tag instead of the name. Regardless, I'll be adding this to my wiki if that
is ok?

[tw] Re: [TW5] Calendar plugin

2015-03-30 Thread Jed Carty
Ok, the default macro now lists any tiddlers that have the fields month,
day and year that match the date on the calendar instead of what I had
before. The reason I used the whole string before is because you could want
the same tiddler listed in multiple dates, which you can't do using this
new default macro. So the old macro has been renamed to
CalendarListDailyThingsOld.

The updated version should be here
, hopefully the macro
actually works now.

[tw] Re: [TW5] Calendar plugin

2015-03-30 Thread Jed Carty
cmari,

Thanks for pointing out the bug, it should be fixed now. Using non-numeric
values for February and March of this year only worked because they
happened to both start on Sunday, otherwise it was broken.

RickL,

I am not really sure what I was thinking when I made that macro. It is very
poorly done. You need to have a field with a name in the form
(day)-(month)-(year) that matches the calendar date for the tiddler to show
up in the calendar. Also the tiddler with the calendar has to have a field
called year with the year in it, and a field called month with the month in
it.
Like I said, it is poorly put together. I am not sure why I made it like
that.
Even with that though, due to my lack of testing with that macro, clicking
on the dates won't open the tiddlers like it is supposed to because of how
action widgets are handled in 5.1.7 compared to how they will work in 5.1.8.

Now that I am thinking about it I will throw together something that
hopefully works better.

This looks great! I think it would work as a replacement for the calendar
I am currently using, which requires several manual adjustments every month
and loads of tags (I don't know how to do macros) -

That being said, I can't get it working. I imported the plugin and checked
that all the tiddlers are present but need some guidance getting started.
Here is the TW5 with the plugin
installed http://journalexample.tiddlyspot.com/ -

Let me know if you can help.
Thanks

[tw] Re: [TW5] Calendar plugin

2015-03-28 Thread cmari
Hi Jed,
I really like the clickable calendar, so I did some experimenting with the
calendar plugin. Looking ahead to April, I discovered that
if I create a tiddler at http://inmysocks.tiddlyspot.com with the content:

<$calendar-month year=2015 month=4 />
I get a calendar in which the month starts (correctly) on a Wednesday.

However, if I use the name of the month instead:
<$calendar-month year=2015 month=April />
I get a calendar in which the month starts on a Sunday.

If I understand things correctly, this is relevant for the Calendar
Archives on your other site (which I think use month names rather than
numbers)?

2015-03-05 Thread Jed Carty
For the moment look at what I made here
, clicking on a
day will bring you to a tiddler for that day (and create the tiddler if it
doesn't already exist), which sounds like part of what you want. Eventually
I will get around to packaging it into a simple macro to include in the
plugin. For now, editing the thisBuildDayTiddlerText macro will change what
the created tiddler looks like. Or you can just take out everything inside
the second reveal widget in the thisBlogArchiveMacro macro, and remove the
first reveal widget (just the widget) and it will only open the tiddler,
not create one if no tiddler exists.

For the checkbox part that would be possible. What I have in part of the
prototype for the widget is similar to what you are describing, but using a
button. What you describe is a much better interface, but you could modify
what I made to fit it. Once again I will hopefully get around to making a
macro for this to put into the calendar plugin.

An yes, I would like to see what you are doing. I have never seen anything
where someone is using anything I have put together.

[tw] Re: [TW5] Calendar plugin

2015-03-05 Thread Måns
Hi Jed

I'm trying to implement your Calendar in one of my TWs.
This particular TW is used to select songs to form a repertoire.
I select songs by tagging them with a checkbox.
Every day a create a new repertoire - and I need to be able to see when I
last played a song and how often I have selected this particular song to be
part of a repertoire.

I was wondering:
Is it possible to make the checkbox tag a song AND set a new date field
everytime I tag the song - like: field:date1 value:-0MM-0DD
Then I would have a new field and field value for each date that I choose
that song to be part of a repertoire.

Next part would be to find out how to make links to tiddlers with different
date field names (eg date1, date2, date3 etc) appear in the calendar..

Maybe I'm approaching this the wrong way - please give me a pointer if I
should set it up another way

Cheers Måns Mårtensson

Ps: If you want to see my repertoire list TW - I can pm a link and a
password..

[tw] Re: [TW5] Calendar plugin

2015-02-28 Thread Jed Carty
BJ,

I am glad to hear you say that. I was a bit concerned about peoples
perception of why I was making this. Mainly it was because I like making
the things I use and I understand how to closely integrate this with my
personal site, not because I felt that there was anything lacking in your
(or anyone else’s) implementations. My development of it is going to be
driven by how I want to use it on my site, but if you (or anyone else) has
suggestions or requests I would be glad to hear them.

James,

Yes, you can have the calendar display things however you wish by using a
different macro. If no day_macro parameter is given to the widget than it
uses the default one supplied with the plugin. I wrote up some very brief
explanation of what the default macro does here
.
I am not sure what you mean by tagged with Journals, the default macro
doesn't use any tags.

In order to give a more specific answer I need more detail about what it is
you want.

[tw] Re: [TW5] Calendar plugin

2015-02-28 Thread BJ
Hi Jed,
I think that your widget/macro combination is the right way to proceed with
the calendar - it is the right form for tw5. My own calendar plugin was
originally written early in the beta days while I was experimenting with
tw5 for the first time. It was then modified to get it to provide
functionality that people requested for use with the journal tiddlers, in
short it works but is not really the right form for tw5 and I would like
something more 'tw5 shaped' - so it would be good if you developed it
further.
Cheers
BJ
