Ok, it's just the beginning, I suppose. As for now I use TiddlySpace
seldom and via FireFox only. More consistent testing through Opera
will bring a whole bunch of questions and probably some bugs.

Is it possible you edited the same space
 in two different tabs/windows.

No, I've opened the space only in one browser in one window in one
tab, for sure.

there was no highlighting going on

I'm not sure I understand what do you mean. Anyway, I can try this
once more, with some extra actions, if this would make any sence (I
mean, import ToolbarCommand without +cloneTiddler and than add it
through recreating ToolbarCommand with +cloneTiddler added.

Edit conflicts [1] *should* occur only when you modify a tiddler that
is different on the server. Is it possible you edited the same space
in two different tabs/windows.

Since there was no highlighting going on I suspect there is a chance
you have found a bug.

[tw] Re: Is it easy to upload a TW made offline to TiddlySpace?

2011-04-24 Thread Yakov
Thanks Eric, but this doesn't work. I tested this with disabled
PasteUpPlugin and now I've updated it. Also, I can't edit any tiddler
that is not created, like the Root tiddler which appears first at the
page. There's a workaround, though -- I can create a tiddler with such
a name and edit it (while with existing shadowed tiddlers I have to
open them in another space, copy initial content and than edit). Yes,
I can edit them in another my space.

Also, if you add the following to your EditTemplate:
    span class='editor' macro='edit server.host'/span
    span class='editor' macro='edit server.type'/span
    span class='editor' macro='edit server.workspace'/span
You can view/modify the values for the TiddlySpace custom fields
assigned to each tiddler.  This enables you to hand-edit any missing
values to fix those tiddlers so that they will get saved online.

Ok, I'll keep this in mind. But once more. the problem is not that I
can't *save* some tiddlers, I can't *open* them for editing.

Nope, not really.

The only thing, that I see is, that your non existant tiddlers have no
custom fields. And that causes, the problem. But I have no concrete
idea, why. Somewhere your TW overwrites some TiddlySpace core
functions.

Sry,

An other possibility would be, that you use a TS theme, until you get
the problem with yours solved.

The only thing, that I see is, that your non existant tiddlers have no
custom fields. And that causes, the problem. But I have no concrete
idea, why. Somewhere your TW overwrites some TiddlySpace core
 functions.

 Sry,
@devs have to jump in here.

TiddlySpace tiddlers use custom fields to set the server information.
Otherwise they don't get saved online. TiddlySpace automatically sets
the config.defaultCustomFields object to contain the required custom
field name/value pairs.

Unfortunately, some plugins -- those not specifically written for
TiddlySpace -- don't always pass the default fields into the TWCore
store.saveTiddler(...) function. As a result, although a tiddler is
created *locally*, and can be saved *locally*, it lacks the needed
server info and thus, does not get saved online.

A quick look at the installed plugins in your document reveals that
you are using an older version of TiddlyTools PasteUpPlugin (v1.0.1).
That version doesn't use the defaultCustomFields, so any tiddlers
created by paste up actions won't be saved online.

Fortunately, this has *already been fixed*:

2011.02.08 1.0.9 when saving new tiddlers, use
config.defaultCustomFields for TiddlySpace compatibility

Please install the most up-to-date version (v1.1.0)
   http://www.tiddlytools.com/#PasteUpPlugin

Also, if you add the following to your EditTemplate:
   span class='editor' macro='edit server.host'/span
   span class='editor' macro='edit server.type'/span
   span class='editor' macro='edit server.workspace'/span
You can view/modify the values for the TiddlySpace custom fields
assigned to each tiddler. This enables you to hand-edit any missing
values to fix those tiddlers so that they will get saved online.

enjoy,

Unfortunately, disabling PersistentAuthorNameParameter doesn't help.
This is kind of predictable -- safe mode also should disable this
thing (after testing, I removed the disabling tags).

Hi,
At you link, I can't see anything. All your tiddlers seem to be
private. You need to make them public, that we can see them. Only
those, which you want us to see, off course :)

Enter the backstage area and got to the batch tab.
There should be 2 tabs: private public

at the private tab select every tiddler we should see and make
public.

If you log out, you'll see, what we can see, because we are no members
of your space.

Is it possible to upload a tw-document easily to TiddlySpace? I
mean, not only tiddlers, but the theme and other things?
Themes work quite well if you remove
[[StyleSheetTiddlySpace]] from your StyleSheet shadow tiddler. Since
this will definitely mess up your Theme.

The other key words here are and other things. If you have plugins,
that programmatically manipulate tiddlers and save them, the chance is
quite high, that they don't work with tiddlySpace. Since there are
some adjustments needed for saving to the server. These plugins, wont
break anything, they just don't save ...

On the other hand, there is a chance, that some TW plugins you are
using, are allready fixed and available as includeable spaces.

..While it's
possible for TiddlySpot (I just need to add the four plugins used
there and set the parameters/cookies as they are in the TW-file
 downloaded from the spot)
Exactly those plugins will _not_ work if you upload them to TS. The
whole ServerSide saving mechanism is rewritten for TS.

... TiddlySpace has 38 plugins and 13 new
shadowed tiddlers so it would be crazy to copy and customize this even
 once.
See the themes space for the cracy stuff :)

.. The import mechanism is a bit awkward since it doesn't see not
touched shadowed tiddlers which are different in a vanilla tw and in
 TiddlySpace..
You can create a new space and exclude every system space _except_
system-plugins space.

Then upload your stuff (excluded server side saving stuff), and see
what happens.

If you mess up your space, _safe mode [1] can help.

have fun!
