Just rec'd results of MRI (thorasic) and they show the lesions in the
T8-T12 region. Even though I have had this condtion for more than 10
years I have never known my T score..is a higher # on the T scale better
or worse?

Thx

Need a little helpRobert,

Here is a site that shows just where on the spine T8 - T12 is.
http://www.makoa.org/scimap.htm

Not sure if higher is better or worse. It just tells what parts of the body
are affected. I think it also depends on how much initial damage is done by
the inflammation as to how you are affected by the residual effects.

My lesion was at T8 - T10. I am one of the walking wounded. Usually walk
unaided in house but use cane if I am tired or under the weather. Use cane or
walker outside of home. Wheelchair once in a while.

Thanks a lotmy problem is that this is the first MRI in 10+ years
and I therefore do't have a good point of reference.Tomorrow I will
forward the report to Dr. Kerr and to the group. From the report it is
hard for me to decipher if there is new damage or it is just rsidual
damage from 10 years ago that might hav showed up if another MRI was
taken weeks or months after the MRI that showed the lesion. To be
continued tomorrow.

Thanks again!

The higher the lesion, the more dysfunction in the body.

Then one needs to factor in whether one is an incomplete or complete para.

Ask your Doctor to explain. Best of Love, Peace and Prayers,

Welcome back Jude!

Our pastor Invites anyone with prayer concerns to kneel at the prayer
rail during the pastoral and Lords prayer every Sunday. I have always
been shy about doing this but I have missed your words of wisdom and
out of concern for your treatment and well being I decided to go to the
altar and pray for you every sunday until there was a dramatic change
in your situation. While kneeling at the rail this past sunday I
realized that I should be praying for your caretakers that they might
have a change of heart. BOY, talk about answered prayer!

Patti, thank you for the wonderful update. It's so good to see Jude's spirits
lifted. I will definitely send her an email.

Subject: [TMIC] Jude was looking good today!

I visited Jude this afternoon (Tuesday) and had a surprise - she wasn't in
her room. It turned out to be a pleasant surprise as soon as her nurse said she
was at their salon getting her hair cut. She said I could wait for Jude since
she was due back to her room for her antibiotic regimine, but I was eager to
see her be up and about and went on the search down the halway.
I found Jude in a recreation room visiting with her friend who has a chair
identical to hers. We stayed there for just a few minutes, then went back to
her room.
Jude's aid came in and put her in bed using a lift - something I haven't
witnessed with anyone (including myself). I'm stuck sitting here trying to say
how much I hate TM after witnessing what it has done to some of you.
Nothing has changed in Jude's prognosis - I think this is her second week on
the antibiotics fighting MRSA. I did witness answers to our prayers regarding
the care she is receiving at the nursing home.
The aid that cared for Jude today was super. She told Jude that she went to
Administration and asked if she could be Jude's nurse, it was time to put
things behind them. They hugged, teared up and I watched this lady give the
kind, carrying, and respectful treatment that we all want to receive. She was
likely with us about twenty minutes while she transferred Jude. After the aid
left I asked Jude what the reunion was about - was she one of the nurses that
Jude had trouble with? She was! Jude said she had been a good aid in the past
and she wasn't just putting on a show for me. She said this lady turned ugly
toward her and made her night miserable (the night we heard about a few weeks
ago.) Jude had no fear of having her as her aid today and complimented her on
how comfortable she made the transfer. These people must all realize how
fragile Jude's life is and know she wasn't making up her additional weakness
from the MRSA.
By-the-way she will hopefully have her laptop hooked up tonight. So send her
a post.
It was a pleasant visit, although, sobering to know that antibiotic is truly
her lifeline at this time. (I taught a Sunday School class once titled Jesus is
my LSD -
Life Saving Device.) The kids loved it!
