[TMIC] VICTORY JUNCTION - part 2
Hello all! I have to say that Debbie Capen pretty much covered what was truly an awesome experience for those of us who were blessed to be at Victory Junction with the TM families. We were able to watch these kids take part in camping activities that they might never be able to their entire lives. There were so many first times for all of them. Huge smiles on their faces when getting to ride a horse, or doing the bullseye dance when they hit the center of the target in archery. Playing baseball on a diamond that they could use their wheelchairs onand wheel around the bases with them. Using an air gun to take the lug nuts off the wheels of a racecar, or taking a hot air balloon ride. The making uggy faces when their lips touched a fish before they threw it back in the lake. Being able to take part in a skit and be on a real stage in a real theatre in front of a real audience. All of these experiences as well as many others were shared with other kids who have the same issues that they do. What a great opportunity also for the siblings to meet other siblings and for the parents to be able to talk to the doctors (who brought their families as well) about their concerns. The officers of the TMA should be so proud that they were able to arrange this camp again. They are in incredible group of people who are dedicated to making things happen for the TM community. And in case you don't all know it, Sandy Siegel is the most caring, kind hearted and soft spoken man you could ever meet. We are a fortunate community indeed.

Wonderful news Jim. I am so happy for you. You know the games may have some benefit as well. Read this article from the papers today here in Wisconsin. Re: [TMIC] Arthritis
Australian Dream is also available online at Walgreens. There are several Walgreens here in Naples, FL that carry it. I haven't tried it as my Dr. gave a prescription of Voltaren Gel (Voltaren Emulgel) which runs approx. the same. The Voltaren Gel does work on joint pain. I have also used it on my hands when they are cramping and drawing up and it helps! But, like anythig with TM, what works one time doesn't alway work but the Voltaren Gel does MOST of the time. Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably . And never regret anything that made you smile. Connie, I take 10mg Baclofen 3 times daily and 100mg Lyrica approx every 8 hours. I think the Baclofen helps the most with the banding and know I would be bed- ridden without it. I am here again asking all the people that I trust about this option. Dennis has been in the hospital for the last month. This is after he got back for 8 hours and rushed back to the hospital. His major problem is the 3 wounds that he has. Today we had a discussion with a wound care nurse. She feels his wounds can not heal if we don't find something else to help Dennis. What we were told to think about was tendons being clipped. Last time I asked about amputation and I got many replies. Now I am asking if anyone knows anything about tendons being clipped. I see so many things coming up with Dennis' health. His legs are getting tighter and causing problems now and will get worse. As a mom I am so afraid that he will not get over this. I watched, read and prayed for Jude during her fight with her battle with wounds. I almost don't want to think about what can happen. He is so brave as many of you are. If I could I would get all of you together and wave a magic wand to get you well and be happy, that would be the best dream I've ever had. I know this sounds child like but I am not handling this very well. My husband is in the beginning of Alzheimer and is not able to give me support. I am handicapped and try to make it seem effortless in my daily life. WOW, I have not talked like this to anyone. I guess I needed to vent. I also know I will get answers that are thought out and with concern. I thank everyone of you for giving me advice and hope. All of you have a good day, Rebecca
