My R foot turns in - my bad leg/foot.  When I sleep on my back, getting out
of bed the next morning my R leg draws up to my chest and it takes both my
hands to push it down.  If I sleep on my side, the next morning my R toes turn
under and will do so several times aday if I don't wear my shoes.   Both of my
feet always feel cold to the touch and they always feel as though they are in a
bucket of ice - the colder my legs/feet feel the more I sweat from the

Somedays I feel so confused - hot/cold or is it cold/hot?  Guess it depends on

Debi -I have noticed that my toes on my left foot (this is the strong side)
are curling up. It involved my big toe and the toe right next to it. As a
result, they rub in my shoe so I put a soft pad on them. I thought it might
be arthritis in those toes, but maybe it is a result of TM. At times, those
toes ache especially at night. So far they don't cramp up and I can't
uncurl them. I noticed the joint in the toes seems larger than the others
that is why I thought of arthritis.

Hey Priscilla:
Thank you for the reply. I will now bring you up to date. When i
first started the Cymbalta I was pretty nautious for about a
weekthis has since subsided...I have now been on the full dose of
Cymbalta which is 60 mg and so far the results for me have been
outstanding! I am taking 300 mg of Lyrica which I have reduced from 450
mg..anyway it appears that this new combination of drugs Lyrica
Cymbalta has had a major effect in reducing the banding in both legs.
In fact this is the best my legs have felt in more than 11 years! The
only side effect I am seeing from the Cymbalta is a slight loss of
appetite and a much more mellow mood. At this point I could not be more
pleased.

PS: I also rejoined the gym by my house and I am swimming at least 3

Thought I would give you an update. I am now taking 300 mg of
Lyrica (150 MG TWICE A DAY) and I have been on Cymbalta (30mg) for the
past weekit has certainly helped on the banding but it does make me
nautious and somewhat lethargic...and throw in constipation as well. I
am supposed to go to 60 mg of Cymbalta starting next week. Dr Kerr said
he expects the nausa to subside within a few weeks...I hope so. It does
seem to be making me somewhat mellow...can't wait until I go to 60mg...I
will probably fall asleep at workand I also take 20mg of diazapan
each daywelcome to the wonderful world of TM!

All the best!

I take both Lyrica and Cymbalta, however, I also take Baclofen.
I take 100mg Lyrica x3, 10mg Baclofen x3, and 60mg Cymbalta in the
morning, 30mg Cymbalta in the afternoon. I tried an increase of 120mg
Cymbalta in the morning and got brain zaps (Google the term - it's not
fun) so I dropped back to 60mg. My Neuro was surprised that I couldn't
tolerate 120mg. Duh, it took talking with another doctor to realize I
should have split the dosage. That dr came up with the increase to 90mg
daily by splitting the dose and it worked with no additional side
effects. TM is tolerable on these dosages. The side effects are
constipation and ringing in my ears. I take all three pills together in
the morning then split the rest through out the day and evening.
Banding is minimal, pain is tolerable, amd my brain functions. Life is
good!

going off of the 4-AP however once I reduced the Lyrica from 450 mg
per day (3 pills) to 150 mg per day (1 pill) the banding in both legs
became much worse. Per Dr. Kerr I went back to 300 mg of Lyrica but
the banding is still much worse. The new approach is to go back to my
original meds and original dosagesbut before Dr Kerr has me go
back on the 4-AP he wants me to try adding Cymbalta to the Lyrica and
see if that will reduce the banding. Question...do any of you take
both Lyrica and Cymbalta and if so with what kind of results. If you
only take Cymbalta has it helped and if so in what waylastly what
dosage do you take and are there negative side effects.

[TMIC] Feet to Hands problems/solutions?

2009-09-30 Thread CANDIS KALLEY
OK, we've explored the different problems of TM with the feet/legs/toes. Now,
how many of you have your hands cramp up into weird positions or lock around
something or lock into a clintch and not be able to get your hands to relax
into normal positions.

When I'm eating, my hands will clintch around the silverware. There have been
times where I'm trying to cut something on my plate and BOTH hands clintch
around the silverware; the only thing I can do is try to pull the silverware
pieces out by my mouth then try to unclintch my hands with my mouth, or sit on
my hands or try yoga breathing techniques to relax. This seems to happen if
I'm tired or too hot/cold. Now when those conditions occurs, if anything on my
plate needs cutting I pick it up and eat it with my hands. Sure cuts down on
going out to eat in public.

Has anyone bought the special silverware where the handles are bigger? Did it
help?

To me, the pain from hands cramping/spasming is MUCH worse than my feet/toes or
legs, at least I have my hands to unclutch toes, or grab my feet or leg and
talk to the offending part (which seems to help).

Hello All,
I was wondering if any of you had one or both feet that wants to turn out.
My right foot leans to the right instead
of walking straight.    When I straighten it, it feels like I am walking
pigeon-toed.    Do any of you have something
like that?

Yes I had this same thing happen to me my right hand went into a clinch and
I couldn't get it to open so I went to the emergency room...and a doctor
there told me I was a scitzo! And wouldn't give me rehab so now I have ulnar
nerve damage...and I have been known to throw a can of Pepsi across the room
From a spasm.. I haven't had one in a while now and I can grasp things and
release ok now...I cant hold on to anything with weight my right hand will
drop it, but I can open a door with the round nobs now..and being I am right
handed I had to change the way I wrote I write just with my thumb and first
and middle fingers I also type just with the three fingers on my right and
normal on the left.

OK, we've explored the different problems of TM with the feet/legs/toes.
Now, how many of you have your hands cramp up into weird positions or lock
around something or lock into a clintch and not be able to get your hands to
relax into normal positions.

When I'm eating, my hands will clintch around the silverware. There have
been times where I'm trying to cut something on my plate and BOTH hands
clintch around the silverware; the only thing I can do is try to pull the
silverware pieces out by my mouth then try to unclintch my hands with my
mouth, or sit on my hands or try yoga breathing techniques to relax. This
seems to happen if I'm tired or too hot/cold. Now when those conditions
occurs, if anything on my plate needs cutting I pick it up and eat it with
my hands. Sure cuts down on going out to eat in public.

Has anyone bought the special silverware where the handles are bigger? Did
it help?

To me, the pain from hands cramping/spasming is MUCH worse than my feet/toes
or legs, at least I have my hands to unclutch toes, or grab my feet or leg
and talk to the offending part (which seems to help).
