2010-07-27 Thread PWi1991449
Thank you Betty this info is awesome. My spirits have really been uplifted
today .Your testimony is very encouraging, I have had TM since 2002 and I
agree with you there is not a time frame for our healing. This is in the
hands of God. I reuse to believe this healing will not take place .I regained
most of my sensation back in my entire body. I have gone through everything
almost everyone else have and at time I still do. I never put my focus on
my illness, but on my healer. I just finished 10 weeks of therapy and now I
am in a wellness program to aid in strengthening my muscles. My hands are
numb most of the time. I can still use them to do most anything with. My
feet and hands are hot and cold a lot of time now more than ever. I will not
give up on believing I will not overcome this disease. I take care of my
grandson who is autistic every day. When school starts I will start back to
driving him too and from school .I keep going and keep believing that the
next day will bring me closer to a healing. I pray to God for all, that we
will be healed and get our lives back, and also thank Him for letting us
see another day. If anyone have pain in their hip joints and weak ankles
please tell me how you are coping with it. I know my ankles are weak and is
causing my feet to turn. You should really see my shoes. I just returned from
a Family Reunion in Chicago Via Cleveland and flew by myself. 5 hours
sitting and it seemed like I held that position for 3 days afterward. I had my
cane with me and used it and was not ashamed. I turned 61 on Sunday and I am
really blessed in the Lord. It is not the TM that bothers me but the other
diseases that attack my body. I had a life-threatening bout with MRSA in
April and almost died. my blood was highly infected. I was going into renal
failure with the right kidney and came out healed. That's one of the reasons
I refuse to give up on our healing from this disease. God brought me out
of that and He can bring me out of this. Be blessed in the Healer, Think on

Hi Craig. My name is Betty, I'm 57 years old live in northern
California. My journey into TM started the morning after Easter in April,
2006 (no
previous symptoms or illness). I woke w/ a numb right arm. I also had
intense pain around the back of my neck between my shoulder blades. Then I
noticed both big toes felt numb. After the Dr. did an EKG, X-ray blood
test, I went home to wait for results. That evening, both legs, besides
feeling
numb, started spasming got so bad, my husband went to an all-night
pharmacy to get a Rx to get me through the night. At 2:00 the next afternoon
my
GP finally said to go to Emergency. After an hour-and-a-half MRI Spinal
Tap, the on-call neurologist said I had TM, fortunately at C7 only. However,
paralyzed by this time from the chest down w/no hand function, I spent 4
days in the hospital on Solumedrol treatments, which arrested the virus,
then was x'ferred to a local recovery center for 4 wks of intensive physical
occupational therapy where I regained most of the use of my legs
arms/hands. My right leg is nearly completely recovered. I still have a hitch
in
my left leg went to PT 2X/week. I can walk – though somewhat unsteadily
due to balance issues w/the left leg/foot (also intensified by the use of
Neurontin/Gabapentin). I've been left w/ a kind of surface skin numbness... I
have gross touch sensation (I can feel it if I rub my right leg or upper
torso) h owever, if I'm scratched w/ something sharp, I don't feel it. My
left leg (the bad one) has much less sensation.
Ever since, I've spent every week 2X/wk w/a hand specialist because my
hand function never returned completely. However small, I have gained
progress over time in strength function thru the use of

I was out walking yesterday in New Jersey with my wife when I realized how
much stiffer my legs were. I attributed this to the cold (20 degrees). Im
tired very quickly. In my case the 2 things that seem to effect my legs the
worst (the banding) is very cold weather (Florida here I come) and very
humid or rainy weather. Generally speaking I feel better and stronger in the
spring and summer!

Hey Gracie and everyone...
I've read through the posts..
I'm here...I don't post here often...too busy with my other projects
usually or actually, my distracted attention span takes me in 5 different
directions that I forget to post anything.

As far as the weather/pain/cold/rain etc.living in Northeast Ohio
certainly has given me some challenges with the cold in the winter time...the
pain is a mummer bugger most times and in the summer the heat and humidity
make me nuts. If I go outside and try to do any kind of activity, I fatigue
and get exhausted in no time at all...plus, I start sweating and now with
my TM, the only part of me that sweats anymore is my head. It sweats
profusely

If I had a choice at this point, I would be living somewhere near a place
called Alamogordo NM. It is a small town in New Mexico and I lived there
for three years back in the 80's when I was in the Air Force.
That area has the most perfect weather in my eyes of any place that I've
ever been.
Average annual high temp of 76 degrees, average annual low temp of 47
degrees, 11 inches total precipitation per year and 4 inches of snow per year.
Humidity averages only about 50% year around and also about 80% days of
sunshine a year.
The elevation is about 4,000 feet and within a 20 minute drive you can go
into the mountains and be over 9,000 feet and have all the snow you want
and it is 20 degrees cooler.

Plus---I love southwest style food...not mexican, but southwest, there
is a difference. It's a combination of American Indian, Mexican and
Spanish.

One of these days..

good news from the results of the MRI from the accident. The fusion from the
surgery in 2007 has bulged causing the disc below to bulge and press on the
nerve casing a lot of numbness in hand and an unstable balance. The good
thing is no pain. I will have to meet with the Neurosurgeon to see if there
is a treatment without surgery again. if not i might be off to surgery
again. Since God brought me through before He will do it again. My trust is in

You are excused. I still believe and trust God I am going to lift you up
in prayer that God will make things better for you. even though things seem
dark look up and tell me what you see. We must call things as we want them
to be even though they are not. That's when faith takes over.Be blessed and
remember after the storm is all over God puts a rainbow in the sky but
you must believe and focus on God and not on this disease I too have it. But
by the grace of God I am able to do everything I used to do not as fast but
I can do it. I was down 7 months paralyzed could only move my hands and
arms. I had to be spoon fed, bathed teeth brushed, hair combed and all. I was
on the bed, chair, walker, cane, and still walk with a cane. I never gave
up I knew that God was going to bring me out and he did. I don't have or
never had bitter moments I have sweet memories and pleasant dreams, I can look
back and see where I was then and where I am now and give Glory to God
for what He has done. My symptoms are still here they haven't gone anyplace.
There are days I hurt and don't feel like getting out of bed but I do. I am
only trying to encourage you to keep on pushing and not give up speak
those things we want to see and not those we see. When I was down the best
came
when I was able to get up.The best is yet to come I believe WE will be

a TM specialist at Barrow's Neurological Clinic where I go. They are
suppose to compare films and scans to find out why my fingers are getting
numb.
I am waiting for a call so I will know what I am up against. Really to see
if there is something else to be concerned about. The EMG was very painful
along with the electrical shocks He inserted long needles near my wrist and
deep into my forearm, shoulder and back I Cried. On Wednesday I had to
take the Kidney Stone to be analyzed at Canyon State Urology Clinic this
place is too expensive after my $25.00 co-pay The counseling could be

can
get a payment plan along with the other bills. I can't afford to go back.
They said I would get billed for the counseling charge. I am doing good I

[TMIC] Really Bad Days

2009-05-18 Thread PWi1991449
Hi. everyone, Sorry it took me so long to get back to you all. Thanks to
all who responded to the cold hand and feet problems also the stiff
fingers.I am having all kinds of problem now it seems like when one is over
another
one starts. Is anyone out there having bladder and bowel problems? can you
give me some pointers
? Saturday I awoke around 5:15 AM with the worst stomach pains, couldn't
use the bathroom when I did the pain was excruciating along with vomiting. My
brothers called EMS and was rushed to the hospital with kidney stones. Was
not pretty. I was given some pills to stop the vomiting made it worst along
with the pills for pains. The stone did pass have to take it to be analyzed
on Wed. I got an appointment for an EMG on tomorrow. I feel like crap at
this moment with hemorrhoids is this enough or what all in one weekend? I do
hope I get some good news after the test tomorrow. Has anyone taken this
test? Don't mean to be so graphic. I just hope someone can say a prayer and
give words of encouragement. My new friends with TM May God bless each of
you thanks for listening

2009-04-19 Thread PWi1991449

I was diagnosed in 2002 C 4-C 6 I am having problems with balance . My
hands and feet have started back to being extremely cold and sometimes hot.
Any suggestions from anyone. I had surgery in 2007 to remove the disc. They
were pressing on the spine. It was very successful, however it seems as if I
am going backward with a lot of muscle weakness, bladder and bowel problems.
What Can I do? for 7 years I have been doing very well. I have never
really had pain except when I would pull a muscle in my back. Almost pain free
from the time I contracted the disease. I stayed in rehab and hospitals
where I lost all muscle strength. With therapy on a daily basis I overcame
until this sudden backward spiral. I was taken off neurontin for a couple of
month to try something different have to take an EMG on next month. I am
trusting God to touch, heal, and deliver me from this terrible disease
