Alton, If your voice changed, you would have had to create a new profile and restart the training from scratch. Actually, the initial training is about 10 minutes, then it learns as you dictate and use the software. More mistakes at first, then less and less as it gets to know you. Re: [TMIC] OT - Question
I use it and love it. If you have a really old computer though, it won't run very smoothly. I think it was worth every penny. Don't forget though that you have to take time to learn to use it, as there are verbal commands you have to memorize. RE: [TMIC] OT - Question
Hi Bernie, Before I left Agilent Technologies due to my TM condition, they were willing to provide me with Dragon Speak to assist me in my documentation job - my hands were adversely affected by TM to where I must now type with only two fingers. It was fairly new then, but I heard nothing but good about it. I've been considering getting it for my home computer, as I do extensive genealogy. I would like to find somewhere I could try it out - as you said. is it worth the investment? I do feel Agilent would not have offered it if it had no value. In my job, time was money and they were interested in my maintaining my 'quantity' as well as 'quality'. [TMIC] OT - Question SSD to retirement payments
Question for anyone who collected SS Disability payments and then reached retirement age; did you payments change and how much? Also was the retirement age 62 or full retirement age? Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably . And never regret anything that made you smile. Prayers and thoughts for you and yours, Candy K.
Re: [TMIC] OT - Question SSD to retirement payments
I took SSD early...for the full amount and it didn't change when I reached 65. In fact, I was awarded SSD at 55 years, then 2 later Medicare kicked in 2 months prior to onset of tm. I was not considering applying for SSD, but was persuaded by former SS attorney. I received SSD for skin condition, not tm. There is a most helpful artocle at website that a former member put together. He helped many with that article prior to his passing. Hope this helps From: CANDIS KALLEY cakal...@embarqmail.com To: tmic-list tmic-list@eskimo.com Sent: Wed, October 6, 2010 7:12:47 PM Subject: [TMIC] OT - Question SSD to retirement payments Question for anyone who collected SS Disability payments and then reached retirement age; did you payments change and how much? Re: [TMIC] OT - Question SSD to retirement payments
If you look at the charts, you receive more money at disability. This doesn't ever get dialed backwards, so if you are close to retirement age and are disabled, it's much better to go out on disability. Then, if you get denied, you really haven't lost anything, but should you get an approval, you'll have a higher monthly payment. Definitely worth considering. Many have trouble getting approved, and others just sail through the process! You will revert to Social Security at age 65, but at the same dollar amount that you've been receiving all along. I believe this is why there are so many fraudulent claims. People start collecting well before retirement, and for those who can persuade a doctor they are disabled and just not caring to work, it's a good source of income. I have met quite a few people that have worked many years and felt that they didn't want to work any longer so they got a doctor to make their conditions a lot worse than they were so they could collect SSDI. It makes me sick. Re: [TMIC] OT question about side effect of ACE inhibitors
In answer to several questions ... Altace (ramipril) was originally prescribed by my cardiologist. I have congestive heart failure probably caused by several minor infarctions. [I believe my spinal stroke was probably caused by an infarction within the cord.) About the same time I was put on two diuretics (lasix and spironolactone). Aldactone (spironolactone) is indicated for, amongst others, “congestive heart failure - for the management of edema and sodium retention when the patient is only partially responsive to, or is intolerant of, other therapeutic measures. Aldactone is also indicated for patients with congestive heart failure taking digitalis when other therapies are considered inappropriate.” At that time I was taking digitalis; I no longer am. Aldactone helps in the control of my asthma and COPD. [I am pasting in text from various www.rxlist.com pages.] I am strongly considering discontinuing Altace, mostly because of a persistent, often unproductive, violent cough. “In a later 1-year study, increased cough was seen in almost 12% of ramipril patients, with about 4% of patients requiring discontinuation of treatment.” After all these years, this was overlooked until I saw a surgeon last week about repair of an abdominal hernia. “Unless you get over that cough, you’ll just get another hernia.” Such subtleties get through my thick skull.
