I take a very small dose of Amytriptiline for my bladder. It's way 
overactive, so I take 4 mg. Detrol LA at night, and 25 mg of the other 
in the morning... They are planning on doing botox on my bladder to calm 
it down.

OMG.I didn't realize that Amytriptilene was actually Elavil.  
I too was put on that for a short while back in the 70's for depression. 
I too felt 'right out of it' or 'stoned'.  
I couldn't take it then and guess I will just stick with the Neurontin.

was prescribed for me for bladder control.  I also take Ditropan XL 20mgs at 
night.  The Ditropan and the Elavil keep me dry all night.

This interchange is not making me feel too sanguine.  I will start  with a very 
sparing dose and see how it goes.  I must also be a little depressed having 
just been diagnosed with TM (or something like it)so maybe it will help that 
issue.

Jill...it is very common to go thru depression with TM. It hit me one
year after TM hit me and I had to go on Paxil for about six
months...since then (11 years) I have not suffered from depression and
or anxiety attacks!

I also had horrible blurred vision.  I went off of it because of that, but 
my vision had changed so much my eye doctor couldn't believe it.  And the 
dry mouth was miserable.  Rather deal with the bladder problems than 
Ditropan.

I used it too, didn't work out too well for meIt is called Amytryptaline 
here in Brasil. I still take gabapentin and neurotin, valium, cymbalta and 
miosan plus prescription sleeping pills. What a cocktail, but never had any 
depression or suicidal thoughts. I do see a psychologist every week though.
