I don't want to add null checks in every method to handle the one broken webapp. This doesn't make any sense. OTOH, here's something I would accept if you want to do that cleanup: the clear() would associate the facade with a (static final) HTTPServletRequest implementation which would return an ISE for every method. And do the same for the response facade. I think it's not worth the pain, so I would be +0 for the change. I realized some time later that this doesn't work, as the response facade uses methods from CoyoteResponse (for the response commit state). Since I can't provide an acceptable solution, I'll have to accept your polish if you think it is useful, and I change my vote to 0. I've successfully deployed a Web app that has a JDNI data source defined in its context.xml using the Ant deploy task. The WAR file has context.xml in the meta-inf directory. But when I deploy the app by putting the WAR file in the TOMCAT_HOME/webapps directory, the app fails because the JDNI data source isn't bound. There's a workaround I found at O'Reilly: http://oreillynet.com/cs/user/view/cs_msg/14252 However, it would be nice if the app could get the context.xml info if it finds it in the WAR file's meta-inf directory. No steps required beyond dropping the WAR file into the webapps directory. Thanks - MOD - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

For sure, you have to store the DN in the database, but the resulting principal should contain the username as username and not the DN. A user might have multiple certificates, but it is always the same user. Or a user revoke his certificate an creates a new one, mabe this result in a new DN (other provider, new e-mail address, ...) Any help/information will be apprectiated.. ok store the username/password as an encrypted text string and use the JAAS API to a: encrypt it in the first place, and b: read it back into the the application from the encrypted text string in the server.xml file. I was looking into this myself (not using tomcat but in another Oracle/Java project), but the time it would take for me to implement and test the secure/encrypted version (2 days including test) was deemed to be not worthwhile. Re: FAQ location
I checked out jakarta-site2 and jakarta-tomcat-site and made the changes locally. Because of the print preview functionality and my inability to get the correct lev sidebars - I didn't use Anakia (for the faq). I continued to use the already built xslt transformations. So all I did was create a subdir called xdocs-faq at the same level as xdocs then added the style tasks to build.xml. So ultimately publishing stays the same - html files get created via the build process and then committed to cvs. A preview: http://cvs.apache.org/~funkman/docs/ The source: http://cvs.apache.org/~funkman/jakarta-tomcat-site.zip Does this seem like the right way to go? Is Anakia still useful compared to xslt? If Anakia is still the way to go - can someone someone point me in the right direction (to keep consistent). Even if I no one looks at the above - does it sound like the right way to go? (Just trying refer not to cleanup a giant commit.) Last but not least, will I need an account on daedalus? Or do I notify someone to peform the cvs update? -Tim - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
