If the artwork files are excessively large it will take time for the Touch to resize them, anyway. I have made all my cover art 512 x 512 pixels, 72 pixels/inch. I believe this is the size that is displayed on the Touch screen. [SlimDevices: Touch] Suddenly, no music from Touch
Last night, suddenly there was no music from my Touch. SqueezePad (on my iPad) as well as the Web interface showed a file being played for about 15 seconds before reverting to the beginning of the track. The pause/stop button did not stop this from happening. But there was no music! A factory reset brought everything back to normal. (Of course, I had to re-install soundcheck's mods). Did you have anything like this happen to you? Or, any idea as to what may have caused this behavior? Well 7.6 doesn't even scan my library properly when using the PC SBS. When I switched back to 7.5.3, everything was back to normal. If it works for everyone else, it should also work for me, isn't it? I use a Western Digital 500GB My Passport, which has worked flawlessly with the Touch for a few months now. The Meicord folks sat down at that time and started playing around with the stuff for a while. As soon as they realized that there is something about that subject and even found a nice solution they opened up a business. From what I understood Stereo did listening tests only and refered to the crosstalk numbers as measured by Meicord. But don't nail me on that. I use Category 6 Enhanced 550 MHz TIA/EIA 568B.2 UTP Unshielded Twisted Pair which supports Gigabit connections. I did not want to run ethernet cable that lacked capacity in a few years. For short runs that aren't in walls or attics (ugh!) CAt 5 is fine. As long as shielding is avoided as that leads to groundloop hum. Only use UTP. The SB3, when used with a wired connection sounded so much better because you could configure it not to power up the wlan card and therefore no radio interference affecting sound quality. With the Touch Soundcheck's SW mods are needed to keep the wlan card from powering up at boot. If you're going to stick with wireless then you might want to consider getting an air purifier along with an air ion realigner since purified air with correctly aligned ions will result in much better sound quality when using any Squeezebox device via a wireless connection. Now as most of you may realize the above statement is complete nonsense but I assure you that before long an ad will appear in one or more of the high end audio magazines stating something very similar complete a reference to a white paper showing how their air purification ion alignment system has been scientifically proven to improve the sound of wireless audio devices. By the way if anyone would like to join me in setting up a company to sell this type of system to well heeled but extremely stupid audiophiles please send me a PM. Hi, I had to re-wire my house a few years ago and so had to lift up floorboards, chase walls etc, etc. I decided before I started, to network the whole house with CAT6 utp and coax. I am so glad I did as HDbaseT is on its way and I cannot wait until the day I can have Ethernet powered speakers in all rooms. PoE taking care of power up to 100 watts through CAT6 outlets via a 1 or two metre patch cord from an outlet. I have a Logitech Duet and Squeeze Commander on my wife's htc desire. I bought a new Touch last week, and have been using it in conjunction with my Synology NAS as Squeezebox server (7.5.3), either with local music on the NAS or with Spotify. I use iPeng as client. I've had exactly this symptom 3 times now... Exactly as you describe, the track appears to start playing, but the track time counts up to around 15 seconds then resets, and no sound appears. The interesting thing is that you can still change playlists, album art for new songs appears instantly, but nothing will play. The first time this happened I unplugged and replugged the Touch, restarted Squeezebox Server on my NAS, and it started working again. Second time I just had to turn off the Touch and switch it back on again at it worked. Third time that wasn't enough, so I'm going through a full reboot cycle now. I've had the same symptom using mp3 streamed off the NAS and using Spotify. Yep, the same result as mine, perhaps John S. Is willing to take a look at the Arcam rDac when he's got some spare time When playing directly from my laptop to the rDac usb input the sound is far more better then the coax input on the rDac. Not sure about the error, but it appears there are no actual scanning errors, so you probably do have all your music now scanned properly. I note the foobar in the directory. Do you also use foobar2000 on the computer. I do as well, and I have foobar and SbS pointed to the same music directory. It should be a .bin file, not a .zip file. I don't know much about the inner desires of Internet Explorer, which seems to be perverting your file's name as it downloads. Rename the file to a .bin file. [SlimDevices: Touch] No track name, no album art
I've seen this posted elsewhere a long time ago, but after a search - I can't find it anymore. Sorry if this is redundant. After running on my music - random mix - song mix for 10-20 songs, my Squeezebox Touch stops displaying any info about the track. This includes the album, artist, track, or album art. It does display the song name briefly, when it starts the song - but it doesn't behave like it normally should. If I go back to the playlist, it doesn't show anything that was playing recently. The only way I can get it to work normally is to pull the plug and restart the device. I'm running v7.5.3 r9283 on the device and SqueezeServer v7.5.3 r31792 on XP. Any suggestions or advice? [SlimDevices: Touch] Print List of all my Albums?
I am 400 into 800 of my CDs ripped into FLAC. When I had my physical CDs in a cabinet, I tend to forget what CDs I had. With the Touch, I am discovering alot of my collection but as they now in a db, there would still be instanced where I forgot hwat CDs I have without having scroll through the albums or artist feature. Can a list with the album cover be printed out from SB Server? If not possible, how do Touch owners remind themselves the CDs they have in the server to select? I only have 800 CDs but I am pretty sure my collection is a very conversative number compared to other Touch users.
