Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Connecting SBT to an Anti Mode 2.0 Dual Core unit via USB using Triode EDO App
Hi Guido Thanks for the best wishes I must admit that the addition of the AM unit has had a very positive influence on me listening to more music which is always a good thing. Sadly the UK and in paticular in the North were I am from (Liverpool) we do not have much problem with it being too warm . In fact the Krell often acts as part time room heater as well as a power amp. Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Automatic brightness control
The SBT is an OK image viewer except that brightness is dimmed once a slideshow is started which is silly. No amount of fiddling i.e. Auto brightness minimum brightness changes this as the ambient light sensor over-rides settings. Is there a way around this? Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] IR blaster and Touch
Hi All, im thinking of buying a touch however the selling point for me would be if i can get the blaster working. I have two sony amps that need to be turned on and then changed to the correct input. (they use different codes so no conflict there). would i have to find both remote codes and combine them into one file? then using the web interface i'd be able setup the touch to turn on both amps and put them in the correct inputs when it comes out of standby? Have i got this correct? Thank you for reading and i look forward to your reply. [SlimDevices: Touch] Can you make Logitech Media Server upsample to 176/24 or 192/24?
Hello. Sorry if this have been covered before. I did search. I have an SB Touch with the Triode enhanced digital out installed. I also will soon have a Metrum Octave DAC attached via coax out. Now, I would like to know if I can make Logitech Media Server upsample all my music to either 176/24 or 192/24 prior to sending it via cabled ethernet to my SB Touch. This is because reports claim that the Metrum Octave DAC sounds better when fed upsampled music. Alternatively, I know that I could use a USB to SPDIF-converter (with upsampling) to do this but I like to keep things simple (and inexpensive). Any thoughts? Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Seeking SBT Hard- Software Architecture Description
Too many questions here to reply to each separately. When using one of the software players on a computer on your network (hardwired or wifi) it connects to the server just like any other SB player. IF you are using the tinyLMS on the Touch it can actually serve music to a software player on a laptop, but just beware of the limitations. LMS on a real computer can handle many players at once. In my house we actually use all three of the software players mentioned. My wife has an older SB3 in her sewing room so she likes to use SoftSqueeze on here laptop since the interface is the same as the SB3. I use the Touch in a couple lacations in the House so I use SqueezePlay on my laptop which gives the same display as the Touch. The computer is the office has both SoftSqueeze and SqueezePlay, my wife uses SoftSqueeze when she is in there and I use SqueezePlay whenI am in there. I also have SqueezeSlave running on al old fanless EPIA board running linux connected to a USB DAC in one of the rooms. (I generally use an Android app to control this system) Aaack! my computer just went crazy, I need to send this before I shut it down, I'll respond more later. John S. Best wishes, Peter I don't think there is any built in configuration which does this, but you could probably create your own configuration to do this using sox if you build a custom-convert.conf file. If you are happy reading the sox manual and creating configuration files then this may work for you.. Triode. Thanks for the quick answer (and the app!). Unfortunately Linux code is far from my strongest point. Any other inputs on this? Not completely true, there is a slight dimming of the display which always happens a few seconds after you stop touching the screen, this will always happen, no matter what else is going on. My understanding was that this was added to increase the life of the screen. There is no way way to change this behavior from the menus. You CAN SSH into the Touch and change the code, but supposedly that could lead to decreased life of the screen. John S. In my experience that dimming is _very_ slight, such that it doesn't noticeably diminish the functionality of the Touch's image viewer. aubuti's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2074 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=93829 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

These threads have some clues: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?95605-How-to-downsample-hi-res-digital-audiohighlight=custom-convert.config http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?95852-How-do-I-get-the-server-to-resample-hdtracks-down-to-CD-rate Going to be something like -b 24 -r 192000 You're probably going to want LMS running on a PC rather than a NAS to make this work reliably. Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Connecting SBT to an Anti Mode 2.0 Dual Core unit via USB using Triode EDO App
Hello Andrew: Liverpool sounds lovely after a couple of months of 40C temperatures! Re: your mention of low volume with the AM: I found that the parametric equalizer uses up a lot of CPU juice with the result that with all 16 bands enabled it reduces the output volume to about half its normal level. So I went back, enabled only a 1db lift below 30Hz and a -6db shelf above 3KHz plus one very judicious -1.5db in the mid-treble. Sounds better, cleaner and more open, and I get way more than enough output volume. the room response graph is not as flat that way, but the sound is what matters to me. I also found (the hard way) that the non-volatile memory apparently only activates if one turns the AM off and then on again, not if one, or the utility company, cuts off power at the AC outlet. Once activated, it seems to keep track of one's setting all right.
