Yes you're right. Even high-rez flac will surely do ok with 100 mbps.

Will your soundcheck's Squeezebox Touch Toolbox 2.0 support SBS 7.5.3?
I have to run this version to use Spotify Beta app!

If I am not mistaken the Duet doesn't output high rez signal!
Don't know with your dvd.

The modification eliminated the problem. It properly included a muting
relay. Now it handles non standard signal perfectly.

I just had the same problem when switching between 16bit and 24
bit and to fix it I had the digital relay in my Audio Note DAC
modifier. It seems that most on the new DACs are reducing cost by not
installing a relay that handles high res signal.

Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] 24bits/96hz is stuttering like crazy

2010-04-21 Thread nicoleif

As stated earlier my setup is cabled and I am rexperiencing minor
stutter. Therefore I am cinsidering reencoding my 24/96 collection
before it gets too extensive (4 albums). Only worry is that reencoding
to compression level 0 will result in reduced sound quality. But if I
understand the various posts in this threads this should not be the
case, right?

I only experienced one time of short buffering and otherwise
satisfactory playback of 24/96. I have a gigabit setup (DIR-655, Qnap
TS-119 and Touch). The 24/96 playback led to another problem though;
the digital relay in my Audio Note DAC1.1/IIx can't handle the high rez
signal I is now being modified! Hopefully the modification will
eliminate that problem!

When you write 'It doesn't make any difference' your point is that
there is no danger in using the Danbit supply?

Thanx. I think for starters I will stay with the stock power supply for
the touch and maybe in the future get a regulated 3A/5V!

[SlimDevices: Touch] Power supply for the Touch?

2010-04-17 Thread nicoleif

I have some time ago "upgraded" my SB Classic with a 5V/2A regulated
power supply (a Danbit) which should result in a somewhat significant
gain in resolution. Does the Touch also use 5V/2A power supply so that
I can switch the power supplies using the Danbit for the Touch?

My Touch is arriving shortly and this thread is making me nervous. A
main reason for me to buy the Touch is also 24/96 and this thread shows
that even playing from external USD drives directly plugged in resulted
in stutters! Thus the bottleneck must be in the Touch. I myself have a
gigabit seup (router DIR-655 and Qnap TS-119) so I hope not to
encounter stutters!
