sorry, I am still confused. The original poster is a victim of shenanigans or the original poster is not a victim but instead is playing shenanigans with anyone reading his post? He got ONLY a power supply and no squeezebox? If that is so, then all I can say is WOW I assumed that the procedure at Amazon was that a clerk stuffs the shipping box and then another Amazon employee verifies what is in the box before it is sealed in the presence of two people. If Amazon doesn't do it like that, then it should revise its procedures to make sure this doesn't happen again. And if this was caused by an Amazon warehouse employee, then it seems that that employee not only didn't put the product in the box, he put only a power supply in the box with part of the label from the squeezebox box? If that happened, it would be quite unsettling. Thank you toby10 for getting with the spirit! Yes, this was a totally legitimate order I placed through major online retailer two weeks ago and paid in full by credit card. It arrived at my door in an official carton from said retailer with their return address on the label. Inside was what appeared to be an official Squeezebox Touch retail box. It was sealed on both ends and contained all the packaging you'd expect: a black inner box inside of which was a black plastic tray to hold the Touch and a smaller box underneath that should have held the power supply. Both of these things were missing, however, and in their place was the contraption I photographed above. I did get an owner's manual so all was not completely lost. As I said above, when I called major online retailer to tell them what had happened they promptly agreed to send me a replacement via two-day delivery. @mortslim, there is at least one other explanation and it's the one that first came to my mind (what this says about me I'm not sure): someone purchased the product, kept the good parts and returned the items I received unopened for credit. If the original purchaser re-sealed the retail box in a convincing way and the weight was about right, wouldn't the retailer just put it back into inventory? Amazon has always been a pleasure to deal with regarding returns. A couple years ago, I ordered a 6' power strip (with outlets every 6) from Amazon. When it arrived, the UPS driver suggested I open it first, since it was clearly damaged packaging: sure enough, it was bent. The UPS driver marked it as damaged and took it back to his truck. I went to the Amazon page, clicked the 'my product was damaged' page, but it wanted to issue me an RMA: which I didn't need since it was returned as 'damaged in transit' ... no need to repack or fill out a shipping label, so I clicked the 'call me' box and an Amazon rep was on the phone within a few seconds. He pulled up the records, saw that it was already in the UPS system as damaged, and issued a re-order. I think the UPS guy was shocked when he had another delivery for me the next day (and one that was intact). For the life of me I can't figure it out. None of my digital or analog AV cables fit the connector on this thing. Maybe the major online retailer sent me the UK version? I know the Brits use some funky interconnects that we don't see in the States. Even if I did have one of those SCART things, it really bothers me that the Touch only seems to play one song by one artist. I'm sure I'm going to tire of that pretty soon. One good sign, however, is the HP logo on the back of the Touch. I guess Logitech has contracted out Touch production to them. That should solve any hardware shortage problem; soon every Walmart in America will have an ample supply on hand! /irony Seriously, I hope that Logitech can trace the a**hole who did this repack through the MAC number and get me some justice. I've been tracking this thing all week waiting for it to arrive! Oh, major online retailer agreed without any issue to expedite shipping of a real Touch to me right away.
