I don't have a Touch to test this ... but perhaps the (format of the) USB stick is incompatible. The Wiki says it supports lots of formats - but perhaps not for firmware update. I rebooted the router, used a new and unused Ethernet cord. The Touch screen says "Verify Ethernet Connection" and stays there. Not sure how or even if I can do that. Downloaded the fab4_7.8.0_r16739.bin file you suggested. Inserted the USB stick with the file but nothing happened. How do I persude the Touch to load the file? "fab4_7.7.3_r16676.bin" did this too, same result. Absolutely everyting I try never gets the Touch to progreaa past the language screen. Frustrating eh? Thanks for your suggestions anyway. When you hooked the Touch to Ethernet, are you sure it was connected to the internet? Like I mentioned on the other linked thread (post #2) The Touch _with_later_firmware_ will not proceed past the Choose Language screen if it can not get an internet connection. With older firmware you can bypass this screen by pressing Home button on the remote. I'm pretty sure you can downgrade the firmware by inserting a USB drive or SD card with the proper file, even if you can't bypass this screen. "Suddenly won't log in to wifi" "Stuck on the language screen" Faulty PSU could cause problems like that, with insufficient current delivery to permit a bootup from factory reset. You could get a suitable power supply on Ebay. 5vdc - at least 3amp - 2.5mm centre + connector. Quite right - he also said that he had tried factory reset which I presume would also have reset the networking to DHCP for everything. I know that there are repairers in Germany and Canada who are great at fixing Boom and I think SB2/SB3 but not sure if they do Touch. Temporarily move it closer to your router and plug in an Ethernet cable. OP said he tried that? Tried conecting with Ethernet and it gave me a never-ending "Verifying Ethernet" screen. I think I might have to donate it to the recycling bin.
