In bug #1541588 several items were removed from system settings for
tablets which have no cellular modem.

In a related bug #1544712 ofono must still be present on such devices,
in order for location to work.

It seems that when it was tested, the landing for bug #1541588
happened when ofono was not running.

I conclude therefore that the decision to display/not display cellular
is keyed merely on the presence of ofono, rather than, say the count
  of modems ofono reports.

"Call back" is localized, but "Message" is not. Actually, I don't find
"Message" in telephone-service source code, but "Send".

Ubuntu Phone is not getting a mobile network cell triangulation

Status in Canonical System Image:

Status in location-service package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  Hi!

I think that the mobile network cell triangulation position is not
  working in Ubuntu Phone OS.

The position should be really fast (~1 - 5") and I'm thinking that
Ubuntu Phone is waiting for a real GPS position every time.

A good test could be this:
  - Go to a room, way out of a sky to avoid a real GPS signal.
  - Set WiFi service OFF.
  - Set GPS service ON.
  - Set data connection ON.
  - Go to this website via webbrowser-app:
http://leafletjs.com/examples/mobile-example.html The website will ask you to
allow access to the current location.
  - Make sure to not have a GPS position cached.

In a PC or *any* Android you'll see your position immediately.
Bug: In Ubuntu Phone an error will appears. This error is because the
geoposition
(https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Geolocation/Using_geolocation)
is not working with the cell triangulation network data.

You can try a lot of apps like Google Maps, OSMTouch, HERE map, uNAV... and a
fast position from data connection is not happening, unless you be with a WIFI
connection.
If you try Google Maps in Android, the position will be really fast just with
data connection.

  Thanks in advance!

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1423107] Re: Calendars listed in app should match system settings

2016-03-07 Thread Renato Araujo Oliveira Filho
I think they are very different concepts.

On online account screen you are disable/enabling account sync. (Some
people can choose to do only the fisrt sync and disable it after).

On calendar app you are choosing if you want the events to be displayed
on the calendar app or indicator. What you can do even if the sync is
disabled.

Status in qtorganizer5-eds package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
It's possible to disable calendars in system settings, but they still
appear in the calendar app. These should be in sync.

  Steps to reproduce:-

  Install calendar app
  System settings -> Accounts
  Add a google account
Enable calendar sync for calendar app
  Open calendar app
See calendar listed in the list of calendars

  Close calendar app
In system settings, disable calendar sync for the account

  Open calendar app
In calendar list, note the calendar is still listed

We should probably check when entering the calendar list screen if we
have access to the calendar, and if we no longer do, should probably
suppress the display of that calendar in the list, and events within
  the calendar itself.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1464917] Re: reboot hangs at 'Reached target Shutdown'

2016-03-07 Thread xtrchessreal
I am no expert but I looked into the systemd shutdown.target as well and found
no parameters that can be changed. I also performed a swap test where I loaded
the swap partition to over 54% roughly 4.2 gig while my ram was at 87% full. I
have 3.7 gig ram available and 8.1 gig swap on my machine. I loaded the system
using Gimp opening and entire folder of photos, opening a browser and streaming
a youtube movie. I then closed all applications and waited for 20 minutes with
the monitor open. The swap file did lose half of its stored data to about 2 gig
but then it seemed to pause at that point for a long time, longer than I was
willing to wait. I then ran:
sudo swapoff -a && systemctl poweroff

The swapoff process took another 10+ minutes and then the shutdown took
place without the hang.

It is my belief that the swap management app/function built into the OS
is the issue or at least part of it.

Status in network-manager package in Debian:

Bug description:
  [Impact]

   * This breaks NFS mounts coming up reliably. In some cases this can
  be quite intermittent.

  [Test Case]

   1. Add a mountpoint to an NFS share by name to fstab.
   2. See that it mounts with the mount command.
   3. Reboot 5+ times, note that it doesn't come up all (or the majority of the
time).

  [Regression Potential]

   * There could be a regression for the same reason it's blocked in
Debian, because of dependency issues with packages not converted to
systemd that want to run /etc/rcS.d/.

You can check for this by looking for breaking/disable services during
bootup. Ubuntu is in a much better state than Debian, but there is a
  possibility we missed something.

Otherwise, this will increase boot time, but when the user logs the
networking will be more likely to be ready.

  -Previous description-
After a fresh install of 15.10, nfs shares no longer mount on boot. I'm
using the same line to mount as I did in 14.04 prior:

  :/share /mnt/share ntfs4 _netdev, auto 0 0

This line worked just fine in 14.04, and 14.10 on my laptop, to mount
  the shares at boot.

Manual mounting after boot works fine. Systemctl shows a name
  resolution failure (see below)

On Lenovo L450 laptop, when I boot the PC with headphones attached,
then the sound via headphones will work, but there will be no sound
from internal speakers when headphones are detached.

I tested this couple of times and the problem is always reproduced.
  This is the procedure A:

  1. When the problem is not present, sound is present in laptop's speakers,
connect the headphones
  2. initiate reboot
  3. once booted, initiate playing of some audio and check the sound from
headphones - it will work OK
  4. disconnect the headphones - there is no sound from internal speakers

  Procedure B:
  1. turn off the laptop (power off)
  2. connect the headphones to the laptop
  3. power on the laptop and boot into Ubuntu 15.10
  4. once booted, initiate playing of some audio and check the sound from
headphones - it will work OK

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1554065] Re: Logitech presenter only working partially

2016-03-07 Thread Michael Fiedler
** Description changed:

The Logitech R400 presenter's buttons for starting a presentation and
toggling the screen to black does not work any more since at least
- Ubuntu 14.04 (it had worked in a previous Ubuntu version I do not
+ Ubuntu 13.10 [1] (it had worked in a previous Ubuntu version I do not
remember exactly and it still worked in Debian 7 Wheezy but also does
not work any more in Debian 8 Jessie). The buttons for the next and
  previous slide still do.
+
+ [1] https://forum.ubuntuusers.de/topic/probleme-mit-logitech-r400
+ -presenter-unter-13-/

This presenter model has probably been one of the most widely spread
ones since many years. I've bought mine in 2010 and it still is the best
selling presenter on amazon.com and amazon.de. So really a lot of people
are affected (moreover, similar Logitech models do exist, too).

The problem seems to be in file /lib/udev/hwdb.d/60-keyboard.hwdb – the
"displaytoggle" and "presentation" entries do not seem to be mapped to a
key correctly (I do not understand how that mapping works in more
detail). As a workaround, the Logitech R400 entry in this file can be
changed (see attached patch) followed by

  sudo udevadm hwdb --update

but it does not seem to be a real solution as other devices are probably
affected, too. The real solution would probably be to get the
"toggledisplay" etc. entries in this configuration file to be mapped
  correctly.

  latest Ubuntu version tested: 15.10
  udev package version: 225-1ubuntu9

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1318360] Re: Poor microphone quality (mako)

  Poor microphone quality (mako)

Status in pulseaudio package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
After months of complaints from people talking to me on the phone
(mako ubuntu touch), I finally got around to use multiROM to dual boot
Ubuntu Touch and Android. Several people can confirm that there is a
noticable difference in terms of sound/microphone quality between
Android and UT in phone calls. With UT, my voice gets distorted to an
extent that person at the other end have real difficulties to hear
what I am saying, while with Android call quality is much better with
  no distortion.

I have had a suspicion for a long time that this might be a software
and not a hardware issue. After trying Android and Ubuntu on the same
hardware I believe this suspicion is proved correct. This issue has
persisted in all the builds I have tried since at least the beginning
of the year, but probably longer. I am now at r17 of Utopic.

Daily Recurring Events need refresh to appear when created from

Status in Ubuntu Calendar App:

Status in qtorganizer5-eds package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
When I create a daily recurring event from the DayView that starts on
that day, the EventBubble does not immediately appear on the current
Day. I can swipe to go to future days, and the EventBubble appears
there. If I swipe back to return to the original Day, or I go to a
different view (MonthView, WeekView, etc.) the event appears.

Since the EventBubble appears after re-navigating to the page in any
way, this appears to be a "refreshing" problem, where the DayView
isn't updated after creating a recurring event.

  Steps to Reproduce

  1) Open the Calendar App, and go to any day on the DayView.
  2) Create a recurring event starting on that day, which re-occurs daily.
  3) Save the new event and return to the DayView. The EventBubble should not
appear on the DayView for the current Day.

Expected: The EventBubble should appear on the DayView page
immediately after returning from creating the event.

A reproduction of this behavior can be seen at:

Title:
imported google calendar events sound when they shouldn't

Status in Canonical System Image:
  Confirmed
Status in Ubuntu Calendar App:
  Confirmed
Status in indicator-datetime package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
I use the calendar-app with my work google calendar. For that calendar
I have alarms setup to automatically send an email 24 hours, 4 hours
and 30 minutes before any event and I choose email as the reminder (as
opposed to popup) so that I wouldn't be bombarded with reminders all
day. Unfortunately the calendar app does not make a distinction
between email and popup and every event with an email reminder gets
imported as an event that gets an event notification on the phone with
an alarm sound. I have a lot of events in my calendar and so my phone
is constantly making noise at all times of the day. This is
particularly annoying at night time since I might get a reminder as
early as 3am or 4am, which wakes me up. Of course, I could use silent
mode at night, but, like last night, I forgot and was awoken at 6am.
Plus, I don't necessarily want the phone in silent mode-- I'd like to
be able to hear if a phone call comes in since that is likely an
emergency call I need to take.

There are a lot of different bugs related to calendar event
notifications and if some of them were fixed, it would ameliorate this
bug. For example, I've been hoping for a setting to disable sounds for
just the calendar (whether via the app or system settings) but
otherwise get calendar notifications. Being able to change the alarm
sound to 'None' would work too. TBH at this point I don't care which
bug is fixed, I need to get this phone to stop sounding off
  constantly.

  WORKAROUND:
  1. download https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Silence.ogg to
/home/phablet
  2. use gsettings to adjust the sound:
  $ DISPLAY=:0.0 gsettings get com.canonical.indicator.datetime
calendar-default-sound
  '/usr/share/sounds/ubuntu/ringtones/Marimbach.ogg'
  $ DISPLAY=:0.0 gsettings set com.canonical.indicator.datetime
calendar-default-sound /home/phablet/Silence.ogg
  $ DISPLAY=:0.0 gsettings get com.canonical.indicator.datetime
calendar-default-sound
  '/home/phablet/Silence.ogg'

in the latest, if the online account is deleted we delete the calendar
from the list in the app. But we should also disable viewing it in the
calendar (but leave it in the list) if Calendar syncing is turned off in
the system settings, otherwise user could get confused as to why syncing
not happening.

  Close calendar app

We should probably check when entering the calendar list screen if we

suppress the display of that calendar in the list, and events within

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1553482] Re: Access to microphone is allowed even when user denies access to "video and microphone"

2016-03-07 Thread Matthew Paul Thomas
If I go to https://appear.in/test-drive and tap “Allow”, I then get two
trust-store dialogs: one saying that “Browser wants to record audio”,
and then a few seconds later, one *on top* saying “Browser wants to
access CameraService”.

An index to these bugs:
(A) the oxide prompt seems confusingly/redundantly similar to the trust-store
one: bug 1553713
(B) the browser can somehow use the microphone without trust-store granting it
permission: this bug report, apparently (but then why doesn’t it belong to
trust-store or pulseaudio?)
(C) either trust-store does not provide the combined “record video” permission
yet, bug 1554142, or the browser does not use it when it should, bug 1554149
(D) the camera permission is called “access CameraService” rather than
something in English: bug 1554138
(E) when an app asks for multiple permissions at once, trust-store stacks them:
not reported yet

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1554142] [NEW] Camera permission includes video but not microphone

2016-03-07 Thread Matthew Paul Thomas
Public bug reported:

0. Flash the phone.
1. Launch the Camera.
2. Tap the video button.
3. When something you want to record is about to start, tap the record button.

What happens:
1. The system asks for permission to let Camera use the camera.
2. Nothing.
3. The system asks for permission to let Camera use the microphone — at the
worst possible moment.

What should happen:
1. The system asks for permission to let Camera take photos.
2. The system asks for permission to let Camera record video.
3. Nothing, because the ability to record video includes the ability to use the
microphone.

The relevant trust-store permission may not exist yet. If it doesn’t,
this needs fixing in trust-store first.

Then, the camera app needs fixing to try recording *video* before you
actually tap record, i.e. when you first switch to video mode, so that
the prompt isn’t triggered later at the worst possible moment.

The Logitech R400 presenter's buttons for starting a presentation and
toggling the screen to black does not work any more since at least
Ubuntu 14.04 (it had worked in a previous Ubuntu version I do not
remember exactly and it still worked in Debian 7 Wheezy but also does
not work any more in Debian 8 Jessie). The buttons for the next and
  previous slide still do.

This presenter model has probably been one of the most widely spread
ones since many years. I've bought mine in 2010 and it still is the
best selling presenter on amazon.com and amazon.de. So really a lot of
people are affected (moreover, similar Logitech models do exist, too).

The problem seems to be in file /lib/udev/hwdb.d/60-keyboard.hwdb –
the "displaytoggle" and "presentation" entries do not seem to be
mapped to a key correctly (I do not understand how that mapping works
in more detail). As a workaround, the Logitech R400 entry in this file
can be changed (see attached patch) followed by

  sudo udevadm hwdb --update

but it does not seem to be a real solution as other devices are
probably affected, too. The real solution would probably be to get the
"toggledisplay" etc. entries in this configuration file to be mapped
  correctly.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1553713] Re: First visit to permission-using site results in two dialogs

2016-03-07 Thread Matthew Paul Thomas
** Summary changed:

- First visit to location-using site results in two dialogs
+ First visit to permission-using site results in two dialogs

** Description changed:

  Ubuntu 15.04 r270

  0. Flash the phone.
  1. Launch the Browser.
  2. Go to maps.google.com.
  3. Tap “Allow”.

  What happens:
  2. A dialog appears, “Permission Request” “This page wants to use your
device’s location.” Deny / Allow
  3. A dialog appears, “Browser wants to access your current location.” Allow /
Don’t Allow

What should happen: Only one dialog appears. Two is ridiculous,
  especially given their visual differences.

+ The same appears for other permissions, such as camera and audio.
+
Possible ways to solve this bug:

  * The Browser should something that isn’t a dialog for site-specific
permissions, like Firefox does. (This would also have the benefit that a
background tab couldn’t steal focus with a permission dialog.)

  * The Browser should have every permission by default, on the
understanding that it can be trusted to ask per-site.

  * trust-store should let any app split permissions into zones granted
independently, and Browser should have one zone per Web site.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 831487] Re: Dependency on package unattended-upgrades on Ubuntu Server

2016-03-07 Thread Robie Basak
Now that unattended-upgrades defaults to installing security updates in
Xenial, I think this needs more attention. In mitigation, one can
disable unattended-upgrades without removing the package (dpkg-
reconfigure may work, but certainly hitting the files in
/etc/apt/apt.conf.d will) but I understand that one can get more
confidence by just purging a package that provides unwanted
functionality.

Unless there's a good reason that unattended-upgrades must be a
dependency. Can it be a Recommends instead, or perhaps be seeded as a
Recommends directly?

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1553901] Re: Adding contact from dailer-app only opens the Contacts-app

2016-03-07 Thread Gabriele
Hi,

I had also seen him this thing .
But it is correct . After clicking on the icon to add the contact , the phone
opens the address book because you can select " New Contact" ( and opens a new
tab with the new number already set ) or another contact ( and the new number
it is inserted between the numbers already present in the selected contact ) .
Let's say that the procedure is not wrong , maybe the icon that appears in the
App phone is unclear . This looks like " Add Contact" while it is " enter or
change existing contact "

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1553482] Re: Access to microphone is allowed even when user denies access to "video and microphone"

2016-03-07 Thread Olivier Tilloy
The dialog that Peter mentions at step 2 of the bug description is oxide
asking for permission to access the camera/microphone, it’s not an
apparmor/trust-store thing. If the user denies access, oxide shouldn’t
even try to access the camera/microphone (regardless of trust-store

3.) Click away the chat window (touch the down-arrow at right lower corner)

prominently)
5.) Touch the screen again to show the video controls, touch on the
"microphone" icon; "Audio only" is shown on the screen
6.) Log in to the same URL from a PC (or another phone) to verify audio works

This is working per design. It functions in the following way:

1. enter number in dialer
2. press add contact icon
3. Press either
 a. Create New: this will make a new contact entry with the number entered in 1
 b. Select existing contact: this will add the number entered in 1 to the
existing contact

For testing if a system is Ubuntu, the following combined command with bash
always gets extra BrokenPipeError on Ubuntu (14.04 to 15.10):

  # ( cat /etc/os-release /proc/version; lsb_release -is ) | grep -iq Ubuntu
  Exception ignored in: <_io.TextIOWrapper name='' mode='w'
encoding='UTF-8'>
  BrokenPipeError: [Errno 32] Broken pipe

While the return code is correct:
  # ( cat /etc/os-release /proc/version; lsb_release -is ) | grep -iq Ubuntu &&
echo It-is-Ubuntu
  Exception ignored in: <_io.TextIOWrapper name='' mode='w'
encoding='UTF-8'>
  BrokenPipeError: [Errno 32] Broken pipe
  It-is-Ubuntu

It may work well if with slight changes for the command:
  # ( cat /etc/os-release /proc/version; lsb_release -is ) | grep -i Ubuntu
  NAME="Ubuntu"
  ... ...
  # ( cat /etc/os-release /proc/version; lsb_release -is ) | grep -iq UbuntuW

This is possibly a bug. pulseaudio is supposed to have trust-store
integration these days, however, I'm not sure if camera is granted if
that implies microphone. I see you filed the bug here:

2016-03-07 Thread Jamie Strandboge
Olivier and/or Chris-- if it isn't happening already, we need to make
sure that access to the camera and/or microphone is happening out-of-
process with the browser, which I believe should just happen
automatically when connecting to media-hub and pulseaudio. If we are
doing something else, that may be the cause of this bug.

Title:

Bug description:
In my newly upgraded (from 15.04) Ubuntu 15.10 system, after I've been
logged in for a while I can no longer open new windows and instead get
a "Maximum number of clients reached" error.

This did not happen in 15.04.

I ran "lsof" on the X server and did not see an excessive number of
open file descriptors. I ran it again on a newly restarted X server
and the number of open file descriptors looked about the same.

I also ran "xlsclients" when the X server was reporting "Maximum
number of clients reached" and the list of clients looked correct and
reasonable (and there were less than 30 of them).

I am happy to collect any additional logs or debugging information to
help track this down. I don't know where to look further.

Bug description:
  [Impact]

Due to a logic error, an attempt to allocate a large block of memory
fails in gdk_cairo_set_source_pixbuf, leading to a crash of the app
that called it, for example, eom [1].

This issue had been fixed [2] in GTK+3, but GTK+2 apps that use the
mentioned function still crash when trying to allocate a lot of
memory. An example of such app is eom (Eye of MATE), an image viewer,
which crashes when trying to load a large image.

I propose fixing it in current Ubuntu releases with the patch which fixes the
crash.
The debdiffs are in the attachments in the comments below.

  [Test Case]

  Steps to reproduce:

  1. Have a 64-bit installation of Ubuntu.
  2. Install eom if it isn't installed.
  3. Download the archive from the attachment of this post and unpack it.
(Firefox doesn't allow me to upload image as is - tries to make thumbnail of it
right in the file open dialog, then crashes.)
  4. Open the unpacked image (27000_27000_1437947845.png) in eom.
  5. eom crashes. The full backtrace is at [3].

You'll also see an error message: "failed to allocate
18446744072330584320 bytes". This huge number appears due to overflow
during multiplication of two 32-bit signed integers. In the patch,
this error is avoided by using a different memory allocation function.

  [Regression Potential]

After several months of testing the patch in Debian Jessie, Debian
Testing and Ubuntu 14.04, I haven't noticed any regressions.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1554065] Re: Logitech presenter only working partially

2016-03-07 Thread Michael Fiedler
** Description changed:

The Logitech R400 presenter's buttons for starting a presentation and
toggling the screen to black does not work any more since at least
Ubuntu 14.04 (it had worked in a previous Ubuntu version I do not
remember exactly and it still worked in Debian 7 Wheezy but also does
not work any more in Debian 8 Jessie). The buttons for the next and
  previous slide still do.

This presenter model has probably been one of the most widely spread
ones since many years.

- sudo udevadm hwdb --update
+ sudo udevadm hwdb --update

but it does not seem to be a real solution as other devices are probably
affected, too. The real solution would probably be to get the
"toggledisplay" etc. entries in this configuration file to be mapped
- exactly.
-
+ correctly.

  latest Ubuntu version tested: 15.10
  udev package version: 225-1ubuntu9

Bug description:
Currently Ubuntu hard-coded sudo to preserve HOME environment variable
to point to sudo caller's home directory by default(refer bug #760140)
however this is dangerous and error-prone because the program run by
root may create files (e.g. $HOME/.Xauthority , program config files)
into caller's HOME directory **AS ROOT** which, will cause issue when
users run the same program as their normal users' account again and
even make the user failed to login(due to .Xauthority file owner is
  incorrect)

In my opinion the Ubuntu patch(keep_home_by_default.patch)(no, Debian
is NOT affected by this issue) that makes $HOME variable keep in sudo
is INSANE and should be reverted(Ubuntu should use the safest
configuration to general users by default), any user wish to run
command as root using their HOME directory should set env_keep in
/etc/sudoers themselves and acknowledging the consequences.

  [RootSudo - Community Help
  Wiki](https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RootSudo) wrongly tells that
graphical application shouldn't be launched by sudo, but in fact the
real issue falls into this bug.

On my desktop setup (French locale), the XDG download folder is named
"Téléchargements". The apparmor policy for webbrowser-app specifically
requests read/write access to $HOME/Downloads/, which works only on
systems where the downloads folder is named "Downloads".

When downloading a file in the browser, I’m seeing the following error
  in the console:

  Failed moving file from "/home/osomon/.local/share/ubuntu-download-

  "/home/osomon/Téléchargements/example.pdf"

I wonder if apparmor exposes a way to specify XDG folders in policies.

At a first glance, there’s no related change in webbrowser-app’s code
base that could possibly explain this regression.

However this would more or less coincide with when oxide 1.12 was
released. I wonder if the regression could possibly be in oxide.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1554065] [NEW] Logitech presenter only working partially

2016-03-07 Thread Michael Fiedler
Public bug reported:

The Logitech R400 presenter's buttons for starting a presentation and
toggling the screen to black does not work any more since at least
Ubuntu 14.04 (it had worked in a previous Ubuntu version I do not
remember exactly and it still worked in Debian 7 Wheezy but also does
not work any more in Debian 8 Jessie). The buttons for the next and
previous slide still do.

This presenter model has probably been one of the most widely spread
ones since many years.

The real solution would probably be to get the
"toggledisplay" etc. entries in this configuration file to be mapped
exactly.

latest Ubuntu version tested: 15.10
udev package version: 225-1ubuntu9

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1543697] Re: Unprivileged nested Xenial container will not start inside a privileged Xenial container

2016-03-07 Thread Christopher Townsend
I tried adding "lxc.include = /usr/share/lxc/config/nesting.conf" as I
didn't know this existed. However, it didn't help.

As you say, I can create unprivileged containers as user ubuntu, I just
can't start them. Are you able to start unprivileged containers as user
ubuntu? If so, how are you starting them? I need to start them from
the host's shell, so I'm doing something like this:

$ sudo lxc-attach -n test-libertine -- sudo -u ubuntu -H lxc-start -n
test

where test-libertine is the privileged container and test is the
unprivileged container.

Also, here is the privileged container's configuration file:

# Template used to create this container: /usr/share/lxc/templates/lxc-download
# Parameters passed to the template: -a amd64 -d ubuntu -r xenial
# For additional config options, please look at lxc.container.conf(5)

# Distribution configuration
lxc.include = /usr/share/lxc/config/ubuntu.common.conf
lxc.arch = x86_64

# Container specific configuration
lxc.rootfs = /var/lib/lxc/test-libertine/rootfs
lxc.utsname = test-libertine

# Network configuration
lxc.network.type = veth
lxc.network.link = lxcbr0
lxc.network.flags = up
lxc.network.hwaddr = 00:16:3e:da:08:f7

lxc.aa_profile = lxc-container-default-with-nesting
lxc.include = /usr/share/lxc/config/nesting.conf

Here is the output of /proc/self/cgroup while in a shell inside the privileged
container:

# cat /proc/self/cgroup
11:devices:/
10:freezer:/
9:pids:/
8:memory:/

6:hugetlb:/

This regression is rather new but I don't know which update introduced

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1536774] Re: Service state should distinguish between enabled/disabled and active/inactive

2016-03-07 Thread Alberto Mardegan
See also bug 1509260. I think what is most useful to know is not whether the
GPS is active, but whether a position has been obtained (regardless of whether
it was obtained via GPS or cellular triangulation).
Well, ideally I'd like the indicator to report the precision as well: it would
be cool for example if the dot in the center of the icon were green if the
position has a high accuracy, and yellow if it's in the range of hundreds of
metres.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1554056] [NEW] Option to sort the output

2016-03-07 Thread Sworddragon
Public bug reported:

I'm using Ubuntu 16.04 dev with coreutils 8.25-2ubuntu2 and if I'm
executing env the environment variables listed there are unsorted. Maybe
env could also provide an option that sorts the output of the
environment variables and maybe this could also be the default and
instead an option to disable this behavior could be provided.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1554057] [NEW] apt tab completion missing "search" option

The actual bug may be better described as being in "bash-completions"?

Anyhow, the option for tab completion to fill in "search", so "apt

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1543179] Re: Audio does not get routed to BT headset/speaker

2016-03-07 Thread Christopher Townsend
@Simon,

No, what I meant was that I have my phone paired with my car and as soon
as I answer a call or dial a number, the audio does not play over the
car's speaker. And many times when this happens, the phone and/or car
disconnects and then reconnects.

Sorry, I cannot provide any logs at this time as I switched back to
stable on this phone due to this issue. Since this is my phone that I
use for everyday purposes, I needed a reliable setup in my car:)

I expect the devices to connect and play audio

  ACTUAL:
Speakers just connect and instantly disconnect

Headsets don't get trusted and disconnect instantly, Once you trust it
and then turn the headset off and back on again it connect can accept
calls but the audio from both the mic and earpiece don't function.

  2. Open the browser

  5. Scroll the page

  EXPECT
Smooth scrolling and rendering as seen on arale and krillin

  ACTUAL:
Very slow render time on most site with a lot of content
Scrolling is glitchy and seems to want to fresh render each page as it is
scrolled

This is most prominently seen on ubuntu.com but also ebay and amazon
  webapps.

Webbrowser seems to display the issue the most although I beleive it
is more likely to be the graphics stack somewhere, tvoss believe that
perfservice will hopefully solve the issue.

It looks like the main thread blocks regularly (see the blockedForSync
timings), confirming my suspicion in comment 8. This is probably because
the render thread is blocked in eglSwapBuffers (often for more than
16ms), and the main thread is the one that initiates a sync by posting a
task to the render thread and then waiting for it to complete.

I think I'm convinced the main issues here aren't Oxide bugs.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1554040] [NEW] Allow hiding authentication data in scope binary

2016-03-07 Thread Alberto Mardegan
Public bug reported:

The current scope API doesn't allow the developer to specify the OAuth client
keys at runtime, they must reside in the .service files which end up installed
on the filesystem.
Some people are concerned about exposing their API keys, and would rather embed
them in their scope binary and specify them at runtime. While acknowledging
that this will actually not improve the security, this possibility is offered
by all other Online Accounts APIs, and it would be nice if scopes offered this
too.

Title:
  Preview::test_ComboEnsureVisible unstable

Status in unity8 package in Ubuntu:
  In Progress

Bug description:
The test ensuring that expanded combo in the preview is fully visible
  is unstable still.

I was able to reproduce locally with:

  $ while parallel -i -j10 make -C builddir testPreview -- 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
  8 9 0; do :; done

See attached a screenshot of the window when it fails, you can see
that indeed the view didn't scroll as far down as it should have.

This seems like a Qt problem since we're simply calling
  ListView::positionViewAtIndex(index, ListView.Contain) on it.

Or, maybe it's the fact that the combo is still growing when the list
  tries to position it?

  ProblemType: Bug
  DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.04
  Package: unity8 8.11+16.04.20160301-0ubuntu1

Title:
precise base-files /var/run migrate_dir fails on pkg configure

Status in base-files package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:

Using precise, multistrap and live-build to build Linaro images, we have
noted the following bug in base-files. In debian/postinst.in on line 26 we have

   26 migrate_directory() {
   27 if [ ! -L $1 ]; then
   28 rmdir $1
   29 ln -s $2 $1
   30 fi
   31 }

Note that due to multistrap later on in this same file line 55, will fail
cause when the dpkg --configure -a step happens /var/run already exists and is
not certain to be empty causing rmdir to fail..

   54 install_directory run/lock 1777 root
   55 migrate_directory /var/run /run

The directory as part of the configure step can be safely blow away. Thus the
fix recommended is :

   26 migrate_directory() {
   27 if [ ! -L $1 ]; then
   28 rm -rf $1
   29 ln -s $2 $1
   30 fi
   31 }

  Please apply.

Title:
Native Multistrap oneiric chroots have an error configuring base-files

Status in base-files package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
Setting up an Oneiric cross-build chroot on a natty machine with the
natty version of multistrap dies during base-files due to /var/run
  issue:

  Setting up base-files (6.4ubuntu5) ...
rmdir: failed to remove `/var/run': Directory not empty
  dpkg: error processing base-files (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

thjis goes on to prevent installation of:
   base-files
   bash
   dpkg-dev
   devscripts
   libdebian-dpkgcross-perl
   xdeb
   build-essential
   dpkg-cross

  Inside the schroot we have:
  /var/run on /run type none (rw,bind)
  /var/lock on /run/lock type none (rw,bind)

umounting these does not allow /var/run migration because now some files have
already been created in there:
  sudo dpkg --configure -a
  Setting up base-files (6.4ubuntu5) ...
rmdir: failed to remove `/var/run': Directory not empty

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1543799] Re: isc-dhcp-server & isc-dhcp-server6 systemd service units use the same RuntimeDirectory leading to loss of pid files

2016-03-07 Thread Graham Clinch
The original primary issue (that pid files were not being written at
all) was resolved in isc-dhcp 4.3.3-5ubuntu9. However both isc-dhcp-
server & isc-dhcp-server6 systemd units continue to use the same
RuntimeDirectory, so that when either service is restarted (eg to
reconfigure), the pid file of the other service is lost.

** Summary changed:

- dhcpd can't write pidfile to /run/dhcp-server (and isc-dhcp-server &
isc-dhcp-server6 both use the same RuntimeDirectory)
+ isc-dhcp-server & isc-dhcp-server6 systemd service units use the same
RuntimeDirectory leading to loss of pid files

Title:
isc-dhcp-server & isc-dhcp-server6 systemd service units use the same
RuntimeDirectory leading to loss of pid files

Status in isc-dhcp package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
dhcpd reports 'Can't create PID file /run/dhcp-server/dhcpd.pid' (or
'/run/dhcp-server/dhcpd6.pid' for isc-dhcp-server6), and no file is
  found /run/dhcp-server.

  Additionally, both isc-dhcp-server & isc-dhcp-server6 service unit
files specify the RuntimeDirectory 'dhcp-server', which is removed
when either unit stops (and thus would wipe out the other unit's pid
file, were it being successfully written).

These are 2 single commands so it has nothing to do with it.

This issue also appears if the cache is empty.

Status in Canonical System Image:

Status in webbrowser-app package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Copied from private avila bug:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/avila-private/+bug/1547569
  STEPS:
  1. Install the latest image
  2. Open the browser
  3. Goto ubuntu.com
  4. Wait for the page to load
