[Touch-packages] [Bug 1659902] Re: Please sync logrotate from Debian testing

2017-12-18 Thread Hans Joachim Desserud
logrotate 3.11.0-0.1ubuntu1 is available in Ubuntu 17.10 and later, so I
believe this can be marked as fix released.

If there are specific bugs (like the ones mentioned in the description)
which should be fixed in older Ubuntu releases, they may qualify for
Stable Release Updates. Please take a look at the SRU Procedure [1]
(https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates#Procedure) when it comes
to these.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1659902] Re: Please sync logrotate from Debian testing

2017-01-27 Thread Hans Joachim Desserud
The manpage patch is the fix in ubuntu2, but there was also an ubuntu1
with additional changes from the last time the package was merged. See
https://patches.ubuntu.com/l/logrotate/logrotate_3.8.7-2ubuntu2.patch
for complete overview of changes.

Anyways, now that I look at that bug report, it looks like it has been
forwarded but not included in Debian. So likely this will need to be
merged?

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1659902] Re: Please sync logrotate from Debian testing

2017-01-27 Thread Chris Clarke
It looks to me that the only change is:

 * debian/patches/manpage.patch: fix state file path in FILES section
(LP: #772214)

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1659902] Re: Please sync logrotate from Debian testing

2017-01-27 Thread Hans Joachim Desserud
Thanks for reporting.

Note that the latest version of this package in Ubuntu, 3.8.7-2ubuntu2,
contains some Ubuntu-specific patches (based on the version number).
Could you comment a bit on whether these patches have been included
upstream/in Debian and can be dropped or whether they are still required
so the package needs to be merged? (See also
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SyncRequestProcess for more information on
package syncs)
