[Trac] Re: Requirements for a new and improved Gantt plugin

2009-04-17 Thread Michael Renzmann

Hi.

I've just read your wiki page and I found (at the end of the page) a link
 to add that return:

Error: Failed to load processor gantt

No macro or processor named 'gantt' found

A plugin may be missing in trackhacks (probably the Gantt Chart Plug in)

/wiki/add is the user page of user add. No idea why someone added
content that is expected to be rendered with the gantt-processor, but it's
unlikely that this plugin gets installed on trac-hacks.org.

Bye, Mike

Looks good.  I don't like that the meta-nav bar scrolls inside the

I dont like that either, but the fact is that the theme only provides
CSS, and that tricky issue happens because metanav is inside content

Not actually true, theme plugins can also override the theme template
 file as well.

Well, yes, I know. Let me say the same thing somehow different.

PS: BTW I needed to apply a patch (yes I had to do it by myself :-/ )
to TracThemeEngine because of the following reasons :

- Carousel in admin page didnt show up
- Non-portable JS (MSIE-specific code ? ) code in carousel event handler
- A bug or issue or something in jQuery carousel code that injects a

Absolutely, though not necessarily right out of the box, depending on
what your requirements are. We're using a modified version of the
ticket system for QA tracking, and if it's workflows you want that's
probably the best place to start. There are some plugins out there
that already give you more control over the ticket system than there
is out of the box.

[Trac] Deleted htdocs/myproject on Apache. How do I get things back?

2009-04-17 Thread Adriano Varoli Piazza

On a recent purge of 'useless' sites sitting in the htdocs dir of

my project. That is, the project has a
c:\tracprojects\myproject directory still intact,
I deleted (then rewrote)
C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\htdocs\myproject

My relevant (I think) httpd.conf lines are:
VirtualHost 127.0.0.4:80
DocumentRoot C:/Program Files/Apache Software Foundation/
Apache2.2/htdocs/trac/myproject
ServerName trac.localhost.dev
Location /
SetHandler mod_python
PythonInterpreter main_interpreter
PythonHandler trac.web.modpython_frontend
PythonOption TracEnvParentDir C:/tracprojects/
PythonOption TracLocale Spanish_Argentina
#PythonOption TracUriRoot /
/Location
Location /myproject/login
AuthType Basic
AuthName Mybusiness Trac Server
AuthUserFile C:/tracprojects/myproject/trac.htpasswd
Require valid-user
/Location
/VirtualHost

If I now visit e.g. http://trac/myproject/wiki, as I used to do, I get
a Error: Not Found No handler matched request to /myproject. If I
visit http://trac/wiki, I get the content I want, but without any CSS
or images.
What can I do to recover the original setup?

U ! Perhaps you could have used GetDataBack in order to retrieve

Forget it, I was still being an idiot. The dir I had to recreate was
[...]htdocs/trac/myproject, not [...]htdocs/myproject. Everything's
back to normal.

This means that there was a dir called 'trac' inside htdocs that I

Sorry for the time you spent on the question. I'd have replied sooner,

[Trac] TRAC - Gantt plugin User manual

2009-04-17 Thread Poupinou

Hello everybody.

I installed Trac 0.11.4 in my laptop because I want be able to use
Gantt method to follow projets. Sorry for my English.
I'm not sure I correctly installed the plugin. With this Trac version
I know it needs install a patch and I installed this patch... I
think ! (I am a poor Windows user...)

I created my .egg file from plugin source: TracGantt-0.3.2a-py2.5.egg
I created two files for the patch witch contain code for correction:
patch-setup.py, patch-tracgantt-gantt.py
I modified my trac.ini file of my project as recommanded in the
instruction installation.
I restart tracd and I can see when I create a new ticket new field as
Include in GanttChart:

However I am surprised not find a new thumb-index with Gantt name or
something else. Furthermore in my section admin I can see my others
plugin installed (timingandestimationplugin 0.7.8, tracburndown 1.9.1)
but nothing about the Gantt plugin !
So I thought my plugin installation maybe bad: in the Admin thumb I
decided to install plugin from the brower. Trac answer: Plugin
TracGantt-0.3.2a-py2.5.egg already installed.

= bad install ? I don't know...
= Moreover I surch a tutorial, example which explain how to use this
plugin but I found nothing. Exists it any user manual for Gantt plugin
in Trac ?

Thank you for your help ^__^

[Trac] Performance Tip

2009-04-17 Thread Chris Mulligan

We've got a few internal tracs running and the performance has
generally been pretty bad. Today the cheif ninja's here managed to
track it down and page loads have gone from frequently 15+ seconds to
a second or two.

We're running Apache 2 w/ Python 2.5, Trac 0.12multirepos-r7684 under
mod_wsgi. Apache is doing basic auth with Kerberos against a windows
AD Domain. The database is Postgresql.

Using firebug it looked like a lot of time was spent loading CSS JS
files. In an effort to improve performance we had the /chrome location
being handled outside of the wsgi process, directly by apache. However
this really didn't help.

What did help was a bit more tricky, but the difference is night and
day. We use ZXTM (http://www.zeus.com/products/zxtm/) pretty heavily
for load balancing, caching, etc. For demo purposes let's say one of
the Tracs is hosted at intranet.example.com. We had zxtm reroute
intranet.example.com/chrome to tracchrome.example.com/chrome - which
is an entirely separate apache vhost with no authentication. This
means that both zxtm and browsers will happily cache the heck out of
it. The performance difference is incredible. Now this may not be a
big win for other users - I think it's a particular combination of
Kerberos + Basic Auth + probably something else. However if we can
help just one other organization I thought I'd pass this tip along.
