Re: [Trisquel-users] I cant join the community =(
Do you know what NVIDIA GPU your system has? If so it might be possible to give a pointer on what kernel might be needed, or if it's a very recent one then even new nouveau kernel modules may not support it well.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Error while trying to update trisquel 7 to trisquel 8 : Could not calculate the upgrade
I'm afraid I don't have much to add. I haven't ever actually done the upgrade from 7->8. The only thing further I might suggest is to say 'Yes' to the flidas entries, then run `apt-get update` followed by `apt-get dist-upgrade` and see if that gives some more output. You would then need to change the `flidas` back to `belenos` in `/etc/apt/sources.list` if you need to grab any other belenos packages in future, though.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Recommended Music players?
Another thumbs up for Audacious. I switched to it from Rhythmbox when I update to Etiona (rhythmbox is not built successfully there yet). Audacious is lighter weight, reliable, no complaints. The only thing I could see is that the interface with tabbed playlists may be a bit cumbersome compared to rhythmbox if you rely a lot on playlists. I tend to play my whole library on random, or search for something specific.

It's possible that your hardware is better supported by the newer kernel. Trisquel's repository has a 4.15 kernel you could try, and you can add jxself's[1] repository to install 4.19. Not all of us use Trisquel. We all just try to do what we can. -- Caleb Herbert KE0VVT 816-892-9669 https://bluehome.net/csh <>
[Trisquel-users] I cant join the community =(
Sorry, but I can't joine the trisquel community. I tried installing trisquel on my computer, but I got a screen resolution of 600x something. I tried every way to get rid of VESA and replace it with the open version of nvidia driver nou (something), but without success. I also tried to configure the xorg.conf.vesa file. I ended up installing the latest version of Debian where everything worked "out of the box" without any commercial drivers. I think it's a shame because I like the trisquel philosophy of being completely free.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Recommended Music players?
The best thing about Audacious is that it supports an insane amount of audio formats. I listen to VGM, FLAC, OGG, SPC files and more. Supported! cmus is a really fun app because it is command-line based with lots of shortcut keys (need to invest in memorizing) which makes it pretty fast. Rhythmbox is a bit clunky in my opinion.-BEGIN PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK- Version: Pmcrypto Golang 0.0.1 (ddacebe0) Comment: https://protonmail.com xsBNBFbq2OUBCACY4TYLB9KidY0Hkq6fIsRpfLauWHqROiL9l7PVJgR4Tbj2KS6D gSzC+Ou4R3iT2ljG9x1F7IpZ8kldFYBZELyj9THQcuoCx2Biz/uLPgXOwPijn7Wt b8u6+1VexZNQtzxwZb5eQSRBjtYdEU7aj8mso4izMgm2c345mzVgFc1/DF/spwp+ 6Pbsgm4QNWSCdoORp6cAgZi3ZcxwycVYI1JVDy2+n+xW5MYiwBimbwSiaBONgnng nfLM3+w/lzcWWSDtv2rU+iDHJhIcG5Sh3r87mdNcm9nVnb+7PHcvZfFFjazFoqpS tbSszsJkVjPBQNL57nNeXFJiNJnXiAN4GK21ABEBAAHNM2RhdmlkcGdpbEBwcm90 b25tYWlsLmNvbSA8ZGF2aWRwZ2lsQHByb3Rvbm1haWwuY29tPsLAdQQQAQgAKQUC WOU5NQYLCQcIAwIJEKZ7/hwQA6+gBBUICgIDFgIBAhkBAhsDAh4BAAB7IwgAlF2t 3LJQKpGI+6suYhxQLduiPYhIU5tpbs51eorkqm+1Pyz6xGNmGNNouUEXNfV56mVh u40j1rhdvz3abwoBkqUFBQHziJX0xck3R1MAYNo10VYEQvthev37TcUY9qNb/lZ5 udeTR+G5yg2GfMsQhbExIAJxPETIxLgj7u0Y0Ab2LRz51C7t827EG2Nel8dyCw2y 7Z5y53iNddZ0Gxqfmjy19ETpPoXQ8kr4eOW1tQDrRkvicNM9wdjE0SrvoTDMygmK pt40zWNgV540pBfKMCXTqchfvh8AV16XGmisvBU1VpNAFWgcgayqdbGhv81gbnNE 8l93HaWTjpgpZDAYnM7ATQRW6tjlAQgAtj5oRWmBADhRSii+vLNpJEinLo0IpEJ/ xALxWimQUVfxTjZ8WGAHIg9P75E9hszyjnfgMNZWbXMCpBPe60/Y/GOyvrgaEt6g m1R5E+2SwePjIkVayXV7NI9vJsZF/BjPyAECd6IwrVOGsUQ9QtrAKQSUjPjG2JEc /WB5BI0qhtwWGMxMgeUefDVAY//Q7uxP/509uU7jBPwPBhiImRTQPe+BhkmctnPo C6lnw0G959kAvXoJwStt5ijHjuiAXKVi2scvQaBtogGYP1WNjNOXG43E0Yizcll3 CHjX5q2obXzdJMBBr0qPncoEE2NBpHp2/WvKWVR0SnlrkJK4WIkjgQARAQABwsBf BBgBCAATBQJY5Tk1CRCme/4cEAOvoAIbDAAAaLAIAIQuHSfPTQisMxU6+mxaMCId PeL4yspD2zoG/5NsSON3rTFDSSIqK6KpZ9kJeVctSGvuV4//90iuilDGcXsD/tz+ 3+/86mP3NGfKaxc4ByfSaHDUC+usdBUoWGVmyxcUUwS4lDvrLAK8cULof/W9WXn4 FkdFtiDH+HbPGpjsM1lbU95FTTxjNWDkDyTxfhHFjF3UEPMSPNKFFjP4q+8TFy0t Xa0filPxOqD2AGrOPHqs6HPmQ4i4kWeDICnKw8TbLICzvFKEGFRhghEgCyXBU5yq TQn9mV+OzXKGJMPQ5vlXRH/VlWxRo44ceZnzgLvLiOEUKdyNeUGqOtGe9Qlp/Zk= =0EC7 -END PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK-
Re: [Trisquel-users] Recommended Music players?
If you're asking for a music player, then Audacious is perfect. Rhythmbox is much more than a music player. I don't wish to let it arrange my music files.
