Re: [U2] [UV] is there an equivalent to the UD ALL UniQuery keyword?
Yes I know that's why I asked if it would do. It was by no means clear if formatting and headings were required... BTW what does ud LIST ... ALL do when there are multiple dict entries for the same field? Does it list all of them and if not - how does it select wich one to use ? --mats Scott Ballinger wrote: Unfortunately, LIST-ITEM is just a raw record dump and does not display field names (just numbers) and does not apply the appropriate conversions for numbers, dates, times, etc. I like letting REVISE build the @REVISE item- why not call it from a trigger whenever the dict is updated? Or you could probably make an I-type VOC item called ALL or @ALL that parsed the dict and displayed all the fields in a pretty way- but that's still a lot of work to re-create something that UD already does for you. /Scott Ballinger Pareto Corporation Edmonds WA USA 206 713 6006 -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Mats Carlid Sent: Friday, December 02, 2005 12:43 AM To: u2-users@listserver.u2ug.org Subject: Re: [U2] [UV] is there an equivalent to the UD ALL UniQuery keyword? Re: [U2] [UV] is there an equivalent to the UD ALL UniQuery keyword?
Or move LIST to VOCLIB, setup LIST as an R type in the VOC pointing to VOCLIB and use F4 in the R VOC entry to invoke a remote subroutine that can then modify the sentence. Or shall I put a trigger on the dictionary of every file that updates the ALL phrase whenever a D item is added or deleted? Thanks Larry, but I think I preferred the BASIC front end to LIST idea better. Cheers, Ken Ken Wallis wrote: A site I know is moving from UniData on VMS to UniVerse on UNIX. They're a bit surprised that this doesn't work in UniVerse. Any ideas? Of course we could write them a BASIC program called LIST that scans the command for the keyword ALL and if it finds it, works out what ALL means in the context of that file before invoking the real UniVerse LIST with a modified command, but I'd like to exhaust other options first. --- u2-users mailing list u2-users@listserver.u2ug.org To unsubscribe please visit http://listserver.u2ug.org/ ___ DISCLAIMER ___ This message contains confidential information and is intended only for the individual named.
