Can you possible write an example to how can possible testing you founded bug with hungarian language environment? In hungarian language environment all localized installer texts are Orca proper spokening, I experienced only this type GTK vidget variable names related issues prewious, with are will be resolving Mackenzie committed patch. Enough if I booting a full updated custom live CD if the Gfxboot logo is enabled, and navigate the language list with for example the Français language? Unfortunately, I doesn't talk Français, but if you write now what happening (for example Orca not spokening full the Français language independent the used speech sinth or for example the used Espeak voice), and what need happening if the bug is fixed, I welcome confirming your bug report. I am going to try and get this un-broken. This one has been handled now. It'll only do the broken thing when run with a flag that means it's being run through automated testing. The accessibility hints in the .ui files will take over in the normal case. Hi Attila, the variable names on widgets is bug 781385 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/781385 which is infuriating because it was done deliberately to abuse the a11y features for automated testing - fine in itself, I think it is great that a11y interfaces are also used for testing, but not at the expense of breaking their intended purpose. Hy, I looked prewious week with Oneiric Ubiquity installer when I using Orca. For example, with manual partitioner Orca wonderful spokened the filesystem combo box with hungarian translated filesystem types, thank you very mutch the fix. When I experienced this positive result, I need installing my custom live CD with Orca master version, because Orca 3.1.91 version producing lot of unicode decode and encode traceback error messages with hungarian locale, see this bug with partialy fixed: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=659122 I not looked yet Ubiquity installer with Orca 3.1.92 packaged version, of course this version containing too already the unicode decode and encode related committed fixes. If I remember right, when I looked Ubiquity installer with last week, Ubiquity GTK installer passed Orca with variable names for some Entryes, radio buttons, check boxes and buttons. for Orca. This type problem is already reported, or another non english locale users experienced similar issues? Possible fix entire this type problem before final Oneiric release, or need scheduling this problem fix with next Ubuntu LTS release development cicle? An absolute sure reproducation if you booting with Oneiric daily or beta2 live CD. When your screen presenting with Ubiquity main screen, you need press CTRL+S keystroke. After Orca screen reader started, switch back with Ubiquity installer, choose your wanted using language and tabbing for example with Try Ubuntu button. I hear "Try_ubuntu button button" button label. The first "try_ubuntu_button" label part I think the real variable name with this control, the second "button" part is the rolename with Orca spokening. It's a loop that sets the accessible name equal to the variable name, which is TERRIBLE for humans (as you've noticed) but GREAT for writing automated test scripts, which I'm pretty sure is the only reason there is an accessible name set at all. Or at least, I'm aware of them, having seen a video he made of how ... awful... the installer is with Orca, which is why I've started researching how to fix it. Safe I remove the bigger letter to not disturb the list to duplicate get this answer. If I known right, Ubiquity installer is full localized with hungarian language, but I see some interesting problems: 1. Lot of dialogs Orca spokening "live_installer" dialog titles, and for example some edit boxes, Orca spokening the hungarian edit box label (for example the computer host setting) and spokening an english label (host:). I don't remember all miss spokened dialog widgets, but lot of time happening this problem. This type problem is Orca ubiquity script related problem, or a mistake design with Ubiquity main dialogs? If I have a sighted assistance, I will be look what labels real presenting the phisical screen this problematic dialogs for hungarian language output. An another example is the timezone setting dialog, with Orca spokening an interesting label text for selected time zone. 2. I don't no why, but now Orca doesn't spokening installation progress bar, and doesn't possible looking what percentage are completed with installation. The progress bar is removed with Ubiquity gtk frontend dialog? I think this is not Orca script specific problem. Except this type problems I succesfuly installed with a modified Ubuntu Natty live DVD, now I typed Natty system this e-mail. What components need reporting this type problems to fix all this type problems with future Ocelot?
