Re: using a usb turbo modem
Hi Terry. I recently purchased a Telstra Turbo modem for work (Sierra Wireless USB 301) and it just works with Ubuntu 10.04 (also on 9.10, haven't tested it on any other versions). What is written on the bottom side of the modem and what Ubuntu version are you using? Regards. -- SIMON IVES - Please consider the environment before printing this email or any attachments. Often the device will have some more information on it such as the manufacturer and a model number. Otherwise if you can give a description of the device and how and when you got it and what service you are on (Telstra mobile plan, Telstra prepaid, or Bigpond) I should be able to figure it out. I used to work for Telstra and in my spare time would play with the new usb modems. Barry -- ubuntu-au mailing list ubuntu-au@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-au

If you find out what device it is and it's not listed there (or the listed instructions don't work) just let us know what model it is and we can all help troubleshoot.
