2007-08-16 Thread Johnre
Public bug reported:

This is a very important improved version of PiTiVi,
a video editor. Helps improve communication for the GNU/Linux
community.

See the list of major improvements here:
http://forum.pitivi.org/viewtopic.php?id=98

Backporting this will greatly improve video editing in Ubuntu.

[Bug 132871] Re: Please backport PiTiVi to Feisty from Gutsy

2007-08-16 Thread Johnre
Please tell me: Is doing some of the below ( specifically the ***'d
items - test building items) something that I, a mere Ubuntu user (not
developer) am permitted or encouraged to do, in order the speed this
process along? Thanks.

How to Help

Backports is largely powered by users and volunteers. We would
appreciate any and all community involvement, but ask that it'd be
constructive towards the progress of Backports. Some suggestions
include:

Filing requests. We wouldn't know what to do without your input :)

Helping to sift through requests, looking for obviously invalid
ones, such as ones listed above in the rules.

*** Helping to build test packages, or feed package requests to
[WWW] Sharkattack

Helping to test built packages for proper functionality.

Helping to raise community awareness and get others involved.

Backport Process

   1. User files request as described above.
*** 2. A test build of the backport is attempted. Possible ways include:

The pbuilder or [Prevu] build tool is used to generate testing
.debs. Both are equally acceptable; Ubuntu developers would tend to have
pbuilder already set up and ready to use, while most users would opt for
Prevu's simpler setup routine and backporting convenience.

A new automated build system, called [WWW] Sharkattack, is used to
automatically generate testing debs. Sharkattack is easier to use, as it's a
purely web-driven application. To request a backport, you simply have to fill
out a form indicating what package you want, where you want to backport
from/to, and an e-mail address to subscribe to build status. You can even paste
in a Launchpad bug URL for the e-mail and it will send notifications directly
to a bug ticket. Build logs are available, along with APT repositories
containing binaries for i386 (if the build succeeds of course)
o FYI: Sharkattack uses a slightly modified version of prevu,
which will build packages in a very similar fashion to official build servers.
o NOTE: Sharkattack is still beta-quality in development
software, and as such it may not always be up or fast.

No other build methods will be accepted -- Please do not compile
from source manually, use checkinstall, use dpkg-buildpackage, .debs from other
websites, or any other testing method. It is of no use to our testing.

[Bug 107207] Re: padsp doesn't work with Audacity

2007-08-16 Thread harrisony
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. However, I am closing it because the bug has been fixed
in the latest development version of Ubuntu - the Gutsy Gibbon.

A backport request has been made to fix this in feisty.

** Changed in: pulseaudio (Ubuntu)
   Status: New = Fix Released

2007-08-16 Thread Neatchee
The nautilus-sendto issue isn't something we would work on. Submit a
bug report (report à la bug) to the nautilus-sendto developers :)

By request, we've also included pidgin-sipe in our repo, which adds
support for the IM features of SIP/E. As I understand it, the protocol
also works with Live Communication Server messaging.

Hi guys, I was able to build pidgin no problem but I couldn't really figure
out how to get the gaim-otr package to work. Did anyone else get it working

 of the bug.

If you are using our repository, you should simply do sudo apt-get
install pidgin-otr and restart pidgin, Off-the-Record Messaging should
appear in the list of plugins. After that, you're getting into actual
configuration of OTR, for which you can find help all over the interwebs :)

If you're NOT using our repository, then you should be XD Haha, just
kidding. We included instructions on our website
(www.trausch.us/pidgin) for building OTR successfully for Pidgin. It
requires a few tweaks to the build-deps but it works just fine. If you
want detailed instructions on how to get OTR 3.1.0 working (since Gutsy
repos still only have 3.0.0), feel free to email us (as this isn't
really a build-help forum).

Just updated the repo with a new version of nautilus-sendto. Though
this version is still technically unstable i did some looking over it
and the only changes that were made shouldn't cause any problems. It
adds official support for Pidgin (instead of just applying a few patches
to make it work), and adds support for gnome-bluetooth. It also
includes the ubuntu patch which adds some dependency parameters, fixes a
bug with Thunderbird integration, and a few other things. See the
changelog for full details.

This should also fix it to say Pidgin instead of Gaim when using
sendto :)

Ok, scratch that. Apparently the package is thoroughly broken. Taking
it off the repo.

Problem solved. Two references to the function gaim_debug_info were
left unchanged. They should have been changed to purple_debug_info.
Patched, rebuilt, and reuploaded.
