Salut, salut, Depuis quelques jours, j'ai ce message qui me vient à chaque démarrage. Je ne vois pas trop de quelle application il parle. Au boot, je ne mets aucunes applications. Comment faire pour le trouver , avez-vous une idée ? Andrew Walrond, the creator of the Heretix distro, has been doing a lot of presentations lately at the more structured 2nd Tuesday meeting and they are of a very high quality. Demonstrating ways to share one's desktop over the web is useful too, because it means that people on the group can help out others on the group directly rather than in the aforementioned I suggest you do that style... can I just log into your machine, please, and take a look then I'll get back to you is far more constructive... the in person meetings help to build that trust that is likely to have a member say sure!... and then things move... I was only confused when you came into discussion with your first post saying: So, if redesigning the logo, please follow his guidelines. It sounded more like a directive than a suggestion, which lead me to believe that you where instructing me (given content of this thread, in which I was asking for feedback on a logo I'd created) to stay away from modifying the logo in the manner in which I had ... If I was wrong I apologise profusely, although I do remain somewhat confused as to the point of the entire conversation thus far! Most of the time, I couldn't care less what some corporation is doing. My software and users are better than theirs, so that's that. I attempted the suggested 'poke' just before Christmas and got a little response. Unfortunately I've been snowed under since the New Year and thus have let the (very) small start I made melt away. Hey all, I've got a lot of old computers lying around and have been considering setting up an Ubuntu cluster. I've previously cheated doing this now and again and used OpenKnoppix, having got a PC with SATA hard drives, OpenMosix now doesn't suffice as I need the 2.6 kernel. Doing a bit of research I found Kerrighed and wondered if anyone has played with this in Ubuntu? Is it easy enough to manage and maintain or is it a right royal pain in the bum? Untranslated/Untranslateable strings in Ubiquity (Qt)
Hello, I just did a new installation of Kubuntu Feisty Fawn Beta1 and noticed that there are still many untranslated strings in the installer, although the packages debian-installer and ubiquity are completely translated. The following strings are affected: 1. The buttons Next, Back, Cancel and Advanced... 2. The text over the world map on the second page: Select a city in your country... 3. Almost everything around the partitioner, for example Edit partition, Delete partition, Device, Type, Mount point,Format? and the whole editing dialog. 4. The summary on the last page: Language, Keyboard layout, Name, Login name, Location and Migration Assistant Can anyone confirm these issues or has any ideas how to fix it? Since the installer is the first impression someone gets of the distribution, it would be nice to have it completly translated. André, o víru encontrado é esse que apareceu no anexo: W32/[EMAIL PROTECTED] O que eu achei estranho é que o Aegis fez o scan mas no final nem fez um pedido pra limpar os arquivos infectados nem nada. 1) Volta a configuração original de fabrica : sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg (se quiser faça um backup do arquivo /etc/X11/xorg.conf) 2) Instale o driver binário : sudo apt-get install linux-image-$(uname -r) nvidia-glx 3) Configure a placa : sudo nvidia-glx-config enable 4) reinicie o computador. Só não vai dar certo se voce tentou instalar o driver NVIDIA do site, pois nesse caso voce misturará diferentes modulos e arquivos de configuração e não funcionará. Será preciso desinstalar o driver NVIDIA do fabricante antes de proceder com os passos acima. Eu prefiro a linha de comando, basta adicionar essa linha ao arquivo /etc/apt/sources.list: deb http://download.skype.com/linux/repos/debian/ stable non-free Caso prefira utilizar o Synaptic, abra o programa e vá em Configurações Repositórios. Vai abrir uma janela com muitas abas. Na primeira aba (Ubuntu 6.10), marque todos os itens e selecione a origem para os pacotes (Servidor principal ou servidor no Brasil). Na segunda aba (Atualizações via internet), marque todos os itens da parte de cima e mais 'verificar por atualizações automaticamente' (freqüencia: diário) e 'obter atualizações automaticamente, mas não instalá-las'. Na terceira aba Outros pacotes, clique em Adicionar e chegamos a parte que nos interessa. cole na caixa de diálogo que vai aparecer exatamente a mesma coisa que eu mandei vc adicionar ao arquivo sources.list! (viu porque pela linha de comando é mais simples?). Feito isto, dê OK e saia. Agora atualize os repositórios e mais novos pacotes estarão à sua disposição. Entre eles o skype. Galera, consegui botar de pé a rede LTSP! Graças ao sagrado google! Eu estou enfrentando um problema com umas estações IBM que não iniciam a interface gráfica... Acredito que o problema seja a detecção do driver do vídeo, que é uma S3 Trio 3D onboard... Na verdade não sei se é a detecção do driver, ou se é porque esse video não agüenta o gnome... Se o X subir, o gnome sobe. Seu problema deve ser a detecção de placa de vídeo ou falta de suporte desta placa para resolução x profundidade de cores. Você pode tentar usar o driver vesa ou forçar o driver de placa por estação ou uma resulução menor para testar. Dê uma checada nos logs de inicialização e veja na documentação como fazer ajustes individuais por estação. Para quem não sabe, vírus em unix e linux não é impossível !!! A grande diferença esta na maior protecção interna nativa do unix que não permite que um utilizador (virus) tenha acesso ao sistema e possa causar danos maiores. Agora uma dica, ..., nunca abuse, não fique navegando na net ou correndo aplicações de fonte desconhecida como root ou poderá ter uma surpresa ... E quem foi q negou q existe a possibilidade de vírus para GNU/Linux e *nix em geral? Todo mundo só alertou q o vírus em questão (voltado para Windows, como até o nome indica) não faz efeito sobre o GNU/Linux. Agora, na prática, vc conhece algum vírus para *nix q esteja solto por aí? Qualquer criador de vírus (ou seja, qualquer besta quadrada que gosta de ferrar os outros) já se daria por feliz com a perspectiva de, por exemplo, eliminar a minha coleção de 40Gb de música, os documentos .tex que contém tudo quanto escrevi ao longo de toda a minha vida ou simplesmente tornar meu sistema tão inutilizável que me obrigue a formatar meu /home/user. Existem também os famigerados rootkits, que podem tomar conta de seu sistema se conseguirem acesso a conta do root por um segundo que seja. Se um deles se implantar você terá bastante dificuldade em removê-lo sem comprometer o sistema. O que nos protege, então? Em zero lugar, evitar rodar programas como root. ESPECIALMENTE SE ESTIVER CONECTADO A WEB. Em primeiro lugar o Santo Backup. Creia nele. Mesmo que você nunca seja vítima de um vírus, HDs falham. Eu digo isso porque falharam comigo e eu perdi muita coisa mesmo. Além do HD, sistemas de arquivo falham. Reiserfs e ext3 costumam falhar muito menos que FAT. Mas muito menos não é o mesmo que nunca. Em segundo lugar, tenha o Santo Clamav instalado e deixe-o examinar seu /home de vez em quando. Em terceiro lugar, sempre digite exit após usar um sudo. Minha paranóia também me aconselha a evitar o gksudo e a desabilitar as funções remotas do meu Linux (se alguém puder me ajudar a levar isso às últimas conseqüências eu agradeço). Por fim, não saia baixando e instalando programas da internet a esmo. Eu só instalo programas de fontes confiáveis, nesta seqüência: * Pacotes nativos Ubuntu via apt * Pacotes compilados a partir de pacotes-fonte Debian ou MEPIS * Pacotes nativos de uma distribuição respeitável (tipo Debian, Mandriva, SuSE ou MEPIS) devidamente convertidos via alien se for o caso. * Instalação via tarball para os que não estiverem disponíveis pelos métodos acima, mas apenas se baixar a tarball de um site confiável (SourceForge, Gna, FSF, BeliOS, Seul, CódigoLivre, GnomeFiles, KDE-Apps). Ainda assim, as compilações e instalações são monitoradas por um programa chamado paco que registra todas as modificações ocorridas no sistema durante a instalação. Assim, eu sempre posso checar o que cada instalação fez, além de poder remover integralmente os pacotes se necessário, sem deixar rabo. Eu evito usar qualquer programa para acessar a Web. File Sharing? Só uso o velho Lopster e o Amule. O Lopster por atrair pouca atenção e o Amule por ser um programa amplamente documentado que tem uma enorme comunidade de usuários. Com certeza outros membros da lista vão lembrar de muitas outras maneiras de garantir sua segurança, mas eu me basto com estas até que alguém me aponte uma boa razão para ser ainda mais paranóico. Essa historia que o Linux eh imune a virus nao impede que fiques um repositorio de Worm's Window$. Pode nao afetar o teu sistema, programa o que, se usas o wine existem duvidas. Mas estaras, o poderas estar remetendo virus para teus amigos que usam Window$, o que, eu ao menos, nao acho legal. De fato o melhor antivirus que instalei foi o Clamav junto com o Clamtk. Apenas toma cuidado em deletar virus em quarentena. Outro dia deletei todas as mensagens da caixa de entrada do Evotucion, e pode ser pior. Desde o final do ano passado, a Dell oferece a opção de comprar um computador sem sistema operacional pré-instalado. O que dá ao consumidor a liberdade de optar pelo sistema preferido, além de baixar o custo das máquinas. Quisera que fosse verdade! Comprei dois computadores da Dell e conferi o custo do PC sem sistema operacional. É ligeiramente mais caro do que com WinXP. A Microsoft paga para os fabricantes embarcarem o sistema operacional!... O lucro vai pra MS com o resto... A Dell - ao menos a brasileira - busca mascarar isso. Há algum tempo ela oferecia PCs sem sistema operacional com a mesma configuração de hardware dos PCs com Win. E os PCs com Win, Works e av-symantec saiam ou ligeiramente mais caros ou ligeiramente mais baratos que os sem sistema operacional. Encaminhei uma reclamação pra Dell e outra pro Ministério Público, reclamando que a Dell forçava a venda casada. A Dell não me respondeu e o do MP recebi vários e-mais apenas me falando que repassaram pra um lado e para outro. Pode ser que alguma coisa mude, mas não se iludam muito... Сам пользуюсь нативным хинтингом, так сразу заметно, где хинтинг прописан, а где (и для каких букв) - нет. Однако, в том же DejaVu его постепенно добавляют, а я периодически качаю готовые .deb'ы с дебиановского сервера и ставлю через dpkg. Так что у меня дефолтовый моноширинный шрифт с некоторых пор стоит DejaVu Sans Mono и очень даже хорошо смотрится. Остальные два начертания - это Thorndale AMT и Albany AMT (одинаковые по метрикам с Times New Roman и Arial, но с отличающимися формами глифов). Монитор LCD 17 1280x1024.
