Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. Unfortunately, your crash report is incomplete or corrupt, so I
am closing this bug as there is not much we can do with it. Please try
and obtain a backtrace following the instructions at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash and open a new bug report
with that information and steps to reproduce the crash. Thanks again.

[Bug 123929] Re: broken networking after suspend - meta-bug

2007-09-15 Thread Henrik Nilsen Omma
Thanks for trying to consolidate this information. We are actively
looking for solutions to these know problems. For example, the interplay
between NetworkManager, /etc/networking/interfaces and ifup/down was
discussed at this weeks developer meeting.

Combining several issues in one report is generally not so useful. This
entry would be suitable on the ubuntu-devel-discuss mailing list though.
You are clearly interested in helping make this work and you might
consider helping to triage NetworkManager bugs, esp. looking for
duplicates. That would free up more time for the developers to fix
networking issues.

Thanks!

Andrew: xournal depends on poppler-utils (containing pdftoppm) in both
versions of xournal. Something odd must have happened in your
installation, or maybe you had a local copy of xournal installed (e.g.
in /usr/local) and apt removed the ubuntu copy of xournal itself?

[Bug 139785] network-manager doesn't work after network-manager-vpnc is installed

2007-09-15 Thread Benjamin Prosnitz
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: network-manager-vpnc

I installed network-manager-vpnc 0.6.4svn2422-0ubuntu3 when using
network-manager 0.6.5ubuntu11. After the installation, the network-
manager applet disappeared and network-manager appeared to not be
working.

I uninstalled network-manager-vpnc and reinstalled network-manager and
network-manager-gnome. The network was now functioning as normal and the
applet was available. I then installed network-manager-vpnc and
network-manager continued to work.

For me it was enough to install nspluginwrapper and then flashplugin-
nonfree - both simply from the repositories - and now I've got
FlashPlayer 9 working in Gutsy 64-bit. I didn't copy or extract anything
anywhere. Ofcourse it would be good if one had to install just
flashplugin itself and let the system to take care of the rest.

2007-09-15 Thread Michael Gliwinski
Hi! I just got this on gutsy tribe5 after upgrading xorg from 7.2-5ubuntu6 to
7.2-5ubuntu9. It's on a dell vostro 1700 laptop (AMD64, dual core). I also
updated about 200 other packages (just after installing tribe5) so can't be
sure it's xorg-server's fault but xserver crashes with exactly the same message
as reported in this bug.
In the meantime I'll probably downgrade xorg but I'll be happy to provide

[Bug 139787] XGL Display Problems

2007-09-15 Thread EvilBunnyFuFu
Public bug reported:

This Seems to be related to the XGL configuration,
it first appeared to me as

Xlib: extension XFree86-DRI missing on display :1.0.

when running things like glxgears.. now i ran into a post on the ubuntu
forums that gave the recomendation of running DISPLAY=:0 glxgears and
this works like a charm. i had this problem even with a fresh install,
before i installed the ATI Drivers.

OpenGL vendor string: ATI Technologies Inc.
OpenGL renderer string: RADEON X600 Series
OpenGL version string: 2.0.6747 (8.40.4)

One place i found this to be a big bug, was when trying to play
OpenArena, with XGL on the game is trashed, but if i DISPLAY=:0
openarena it works like a charm.. pretty much any thing that try's to
use opengl gets this problem, i.e. cedega :-(

i have uploaded my xorg.conf, Xorg.0.log and outputs of DISPLAY=:0 glxinfo
and normal glxinfo
http://www.e-webhostingservices.com/log/xorg.conf

http://www.e-webhostingservices.com/log/glx0.log ( glxinfo for display :0 )
http://www.e-webhostingservices.com/log/glx1.log ( glxinfo for display :1 )

feel free to request outputs of any thing, i will try to assist all i can, if i
do not respond here i can be reached via email

[Bug 137855] Re: lybniz is sorted into the wrong category

I'd like to ask the other way round? Why is Lybniz a accessory? Other
programs in this category are

---
GNOME Screenshoter
Boabab
Calculator
Terminal
Gedit
Tomboy
Tracker Search
Charmap
---

Except Calculator i don't see why Lybniz should be sorted inside
Accessories. Lybniz is a simple graph plotter for school kids. It's
defintily not an accessory. It's a educational program for plotting
graphs.

[Bug 116457] Re: crashes when all fields in a table are removed

2007-09-15 Thread Murray Cumming
This is now fixed in upstream glom:

2007-09-15 Murray Cumming [EMAIL PROTECTED]

* glom/mode_data/box_data_list.cc: create_layout(): Do not try to
add the previously-used primary key if there is no primary key in the
table (for instance, if there are no fields in the table). This avoids
an internal postgres warning about a non-existant field.
* glom/utility_widgets/db_adddel/db_adddel.cc: Clear the model if there
are no fields. This prevents a crash at startup if a table has no
fields.

I would have fixed this more quickly if this had been reported upstream
too.

I opened an upstream bug report a couple of days ago when I opened this

There are also a number of T61 users who are experiencing this issue,
should I direct them here to test or is this a possible security issue

Thank you so much for fixing this!

[Bug 139790] gutsy tribe 5 ok with live cd but doesnt boot when installed (ata_piix problem ?)

2007-09-15 Thread Cyrilou
Public bug reported:

After installing of the gutsy tribe 5, my laptop (Toshiba Qosmio G20)
doesnt boot.

I edited the boot command by adding break=mount.

I fall in the busybox. After many tries, i managed to boot by typing
those commands:

rmmod ata_piix
rmmod ahci
modprobe ahci
exit

Then, i just had to blacklist ata_piix and the boot is ok. However, everytime i
insert a CD rom, i have to modprobe ata_piix again (this is not really user
friendly)...

Is this bug known ? (i m french and it s not very easy for me to sort

[Bug 139337] Re: after upgrading from feisty to gutsy, /dev/mapper no longer contains my LVM volume group

2007-09-15 Thread Michael Brunton-Spall
Downloaded Gutsy Tribe 5 - Server Edition CD, installed from fresh,
adding the LVM drives during hte manual partitioning step. Everything
worked fine until I rebooted at end of installation, to be met with the
same issue, got dropped into a maintenance shell.

I figured this was weird, as I could mount and see the drives during
installation, so I had a look to see if there was anything I could do.
Sure enough, with a fresh install, the output from LVS shows that the drives
are not actually marked as available. running vgchange -a y data brought the
drives online, and they promptly appeared in /dev/data and /dev/mapper/

Rebooting after having done that seems to forget, always fails the fsck,
and I need to activate the volume group, and then press Ctrl-D to
continue booting.

[Bug 139791] aptitude changelogs 404 when the source is in a different component to the binary package

2007-09-15 Thread Sarah Hobbs

This is because the kdepim source is in main, not universe.

[Bug 139794] slow update of chat window

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kopete

In kubuntu gutsy, kopete seems to slow to a crawl when drawing the chat
window. This happens when a new conversation starts, as well as
switching tabs within the chat window. I'm noticing sometimes up to 10

be the culprit, but even the standard, packaged themes have the same

Thanks for the help. I was wondering if you could provide me with further

this is what it said.

Thank you very much.

[Bug 131292] Re: dell dimension 9200 - reboot doesn't work

2007-09-15 Thread Henrik Nilsen Omma
Thanks to everyone who is testing and confirming this bug, but please do
so on Gutsy. We will not be fixing this in Feisty or backporting.

Also, when debugging/triaging kernel bugs please follow:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeamBugPolicies

This report is fairly complete, but please submit the full 'lspci -vvnn'
rather than just 'lspci' and please use the attachment option rather
than pasting it in. Thanks!

Setting a bug back to New is almost never the right thing to do. It
should remain at Incomplete if more information has been requested or
moved on to Confirmed or Triaged when the appropriate information has
been provided.

[Bug 139797] gtk-window-decorator doesn't decorate!

2007-09-15 Thread Adam Petaccia
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: compiz-gtk

Starting compiz either manually or via Ubuntu's menu's does not give me
window decorations (actually, this has always been with Ubuntu, although
I'm not on Gusty's beta). This is with nvidia's old or new drivers.
Oddly enough, when I test compiz-fusion, it works fine (when in
/usr/local). I do not beleive this is a duplicate of bug #88589 as that
fix did not fix it for me.

The problem is the dvb-usb: no frontend was attached by 'LITE-ON USB2.0 DVB-T
Tuner'. If have no idea whats wrong.
mplayer dvb://PROGRAMM returns (surprise) it cannot find the frontend...

BUT after a restart with the plugged in dvb-t stock, all works fine...

It's my first bug report, so I hope I can attach the dmesg outputs of
the 2 cases..

Cheers

[Bug 139249] Re: scim-launcher crashed with SIGSEGV in scim::FrontEndModule::load()

2007-09-15 Thread Sunjae Park
Thanks for your advice. Indeed it dies with:
/usr/lib/scim-1.0/scim-panel-gtk: error while loading shared libraries:
libscim-gtkutils-1.0.so.8: cannot open shared object file: No such file or
directory

Installing scim-gtk2-immodule fixed the problem. I wonder the
dependencies were broken somewhere. I started with the English version
of Kubuntu Gutsy, and installed skim and scim-hangul manually. Nowhere
do I see Depends: scim-gtk2-immodule.

[Bug 137686] Re: [gutsy] [regression] (regression from edgy to feisty and to gutsy) tifm_sd module not working and not producing any message in logs

2007-09-15 Thread Henrik Nilsen Omma
Hi, thanks for separating this out into a new bug. Could you please
attach the information requested in
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeamBugPolicies ?

I appreciate that you do not see anything relevant in the dmesg logs but
there may be contextual information useful to the developers there.
Thanks!

[Bug 11334] Re: Copy-Paste doesn't work if the source is closed before the paste

2007-09-15 Thread Sarah Hobbs
FWIW, even windows works this way (as in, once the source window is
closed, the data is lost).

Having glipper as a dep would solve this though.
