Work has begun on this code and can be found at; lp:~karl-qdh/nux/nux .gtkentry-wrapper specifically in the examples/gtk_entry_wrapper.cpp/.h files Currently focus in/out events are being passed correctly and ibus switches input method appropriately, however keystrokes between nux and gdk are incompatible and the mouse position events are currently not in the right place so dragging to select etc is not actually possible.. [Bug 693061] [NEW] Apply button disabled
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager Description:Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS Release:10.04 network-manager: Installed: 0.8-0ubuntu3 Also affects Ubuntu 9.10 network-manager from karmic main packages I found it exceedingly difficult to configure a static IP address in network-manager. The 'Apply' button is grayed out and will not become 'active' until and unless certain clicks or keystrokes are made. Notably, you must use the enter key to effectively enter a configuration in the 'Addresses' section of the UI. The UI interface elements should not depend on a particular behavior that otherwise would prevent the user from accomplishing the task. To reproduce this bug: Setup a static configuration, but use the mouse to click out of the 'gateway' text input (do not press the enter or tab keys) Continue to enter DNS server information and Search domains configuration. You will have supplied all the information required to configure a static IP address, however the Apply button will remain grayed out so that you will not be able to actually save your settings. In this condition, the user is left wondering what additional information needs to be supplied in order to save the configuration; or, what information is conflicting with some unknown ruleset that would disable the 'Apply' button. Similarly, you can click the Add button to add another IP address to the interface and easily end up in a situation where the Apply button is grayed out. After clicking 'Add', if you immediately click off the input area, those form elements for input will become invisible - however they do persist as improper (empty) interface settings so that the Apply button will be grayed out. If you click Add several times, you will need to click on each empty record, and press the 'Delete' button successively until the empty sets are gone before the Apply button will be active again. See the attached screenshot for a fully configured interface with a disabled 'Apply' button. ** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/693061 Title: Apply button disabled -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 160092] Re: apparmor rules break filters in /usr/local
Hi, I had this problem with current Ubuntu version (10.10). After some update, the printer, that is a Lexmark with the driver provided by the manufacturer, stopped working. I found this bug and after using the suggest command sudo aa-complain cupsd ^^^ The printer started working again. So I think there is still a bug, or a new one, as long as I should not be obligated to do such command (luckily I found it). Bellow the dmesg output, with the first lines showing the situation before the aa-complain and the last ones with successful printing, after the command. I can provide additional information if it's necessary. [Bug 693075] [NEW] df -h ... columns do not line up in non-english language
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: coreutils go to terminal and run df -h when the system language is set to french (possibly the same problem occurs in other languages). the column headings are too far to the right so they do not match up to the columns they are intended to correspond to. it appears that the number of spaces to the right of each heading does not adjust itself to account for the different length of the headings (since french uses more letters to write the same thing) ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10 Package: coreutils 8.5-1ubuntu3 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.35-23.41-generic 2.6.35.7 Uname: Linux 2.6.35-23-generic i686 Architecture: i386 Date: Tue Dec 21 11:34:37 2010 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat - Release i386 (20101007) ProcEnviron: PATH=(custom, no user) LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: coreutils ** Affects: coreutils (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 maverick -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/693075 Title: df -h ... columns do not line up in non-english language -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 693073] [NEW] Panel and application Menus working but not visible
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: unity When logging into the Unity desktop the menus from both the panel indicators and any applications do not draw on the screen. The menu items are there, its just that they are not rendering on the screen - Invisible menus. The menus are active as for example I can click on the power icon indicator, move the mouse down and select reboot, shutdown, etc. I just cant see the menu as I move the mouse down, so its a bit of a guess selecting menu items. This same Invisible menus effect occurs for all applications, even those that do not display there menubar in the panel (eg. firefox). Drop-downs in web pages and in diaglog boxes also do not show up, but I can still select them and scroll through their options using the up/down arrow keys. Occasionally when I log in the panel theme reverts back to an older looking theme, with blue coloured icons, rather than the black and white panel icons of the new Ubuntu theme. When the other theme is displayed, icons in the Unity laucher are also displayed using the older icon set. Also I have a problem with the screen saver not displaying when activated. Again the screen saver is working and I can unlock the screen by blindly typing in my password. I have disabled the screen saver for the time being. Sorry if this report is file incorrectly under Unity, I am not sure if there is a better place. Re: [Bug 690784] Re: Suspend and Hibernate options are not available
On Wed, Dec 15, 2010 at 1:55 PM, Lionel Le Folgoc lio...@lefolgoc.netwrote: Yes, they are hidden by default since maverick (cf. the changelog of xubuntu-default-settings 10.10.0). But xfce4-power-manager provides these features anyway (right-click on the tray icon, and it can also set what action to do on a lid close, power button press, etc.). I'm not so sure that hiding these options from the user is the best way to go, though. Is there a reason for why the suspend / hibernate buttons were hidden for 10.10? I think most users would look for those buttons, and wouldn't think to just configure the options via the power manager. Dano, if the option isn't re-enabled, we should document the various options to either re-enable the suspend and hibernate buttons (they can click a few buttons to do that), or to use the power-manager to set the desired behaviors. [Bug 408381] Re: please enable /proc/config.gz on all Ubuntu kernels
@mdz -- well the thought is that it is redundant as we do have the files in /boot anyhow, the incomplete stuff seems to be sorted by a quick scan of my disk. The reporter seems happy in that case to work with those files. There is a cost of having them built in, as they are loaded into memory permentantly, though a quick poke here says we are talking around 40k wasted which perhaps isn't so bad. But that is the trade off, memory wasted during boot all the time. As for the link, I guess we might be able to ship them compressed as well and symlink to them. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/408381 Title: please enable /proc/config.gz on all Ubuntu kernels -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
