[Bug 870916] [NEW] When closing Revelation password manager, a dialog box appears with details of errors

2011-10-08 Thread Arthur Rilke
Public bug reported:

When closing Revelation password manager (in the usual way, by clicking
X at the top left corner of the window), a dialog box appears with the
heading Unknown error followed by the text: An unknown error occured.
Please report the text below to the Revelation developers, along with
what you were doing that may have caused the error. You may attempt to
continue running Revelation, but it may behave unexpectedly.

The traceback included in the dialog box is:

[Bug 727099] [NEW] In Maverick, clicking File - Save a copy - Create Folder gives an error

2011-03-01 Thread Arthur Rilke
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evince

I'm working in Maverick, fully updated up to 1 March 2011. Package
evince has version number 2.32.0-0ubuntu1.

When I open a PDF file, click File - Save a copy - Create Folder, a
dialogue box pops up with the message:

The folder could not be created\n\n Error creating directory.
Permission denied

This happens within parent folders for which I do have the necessary
permissions, such as the home folder. This happens for all pdf's. I have
not noticed this behaviour with any other application. Saving a copy of
a pdf *without* creating a new folder does work.

[Bug 726089] [NEW] Incorrect first day of week in en_ZA locale settings

2011-02-27 Thread Arthur Rilke
Public bug reported:

Currently in /usr/share/i18n/locales/en_ZA the first_weekday
parameter has value 1 which maps the first day of the week to a Sunday.
However, in South Africa the week starts on a Monday as in Europe and
elsewhere, following the standard ISO8601:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_8601

The first_weekday parameter must simply be assigned the value 2.

[Bug 655139] [NEW] Boinc GPU tasks all end with Computation Error after update to NVidia 260.19.06 proprietary drivers

2010-10-05 Thread Arthur Rilke
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: boinc

After the update to version 260.19.06 of the Nvidia proprietary drivers
(from 256...), all GPU Boinc tasks report a Computation Error within 3
to 12 seconds of starting. The CPU tasks work as expected.

To try to remedy the problem, I have purged boinc, restarted my

updated as of 5 October 2010.

[Bug 618557] [NEW] Missing menubars in at least two wxWidgets applications: boinc and truecrypt

2010-08-16 Thread Arthur Rilke
Public bug reported:

I've installed Maverick Alpha 3, fully updated as of 2010-08-16.

In both BOINC manager and Truecrypt (two wxWidget applications), the
menubar is missing.

Running boincmgr (from package boinc, version 6.10.58+dfsg-2) from the
command line gives:

(boincmgr:4450): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_set: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT
(object)' failed

(boincmgr:4450): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_set: assertion

Running truecrypt (version 7.0) from the command line gives no messages. It
also doesn't seem to provide a debug option. But no menubar.

These are the only two wxWidget applications I'm aware of using. I'm quite
willing to test others.

Binary package hint: boinc

I'm running Maverick Alpha 3, fully updated as of 2010-08-15.

I've installed the meta-package boinc version 6.10.58+dfsg-2.

The menubar fails to appear in the Advanced Interface.

Running boincmgr from the command line gives the following:
