2012/8/23 lordamit lorda...@gmail.com

I manually installed the i386 package using dpkg after downloading it.
After that, sudo apt-get -f install worked.

But it is workaround, and definitely not the solution. Requesting that
this problem should be looked into further.

Re: [Ubuntu-be] Print our own T-shirs

2010-05-31 Thread Dirk Tas
Hallo

'chinese' methode's geproduceerd is.

Wouldn't it be great to print our own ubuntu t-shirts, the shirts from the
ubuntu shop are rather expensive, and if we can sell t-shirs for €4 (with a
litle profit for ubuntu-be) I thing this will sell very well (for example @
fosdem). We can even make a slightly different design.
I don't have much time now, but in 2 weeks I will have plenty of time to
search for other t-shirt print services, to compare prices, and to make a
design to print on the t-shirts.
Most people @fosdem buy white or black t-shirts with only an ubuntu logo,
they are not for sale at the canonical store at the moment, and they cost us
 at least €10.

Let me know if you are interested!

Re: [Ubuntu-be] [Fwd: [Ayatana] Bluetooth: What do you use it for? (design research)]

2010-04-29 Thread Dirk Tas
1. What kinds of Bluetooth device do you use with Ubuntu?

- HP Ipaq rx3750 (Pocket Pc)
- Palm Treo 680 (Smartphone)
- LG Cookie (KP501) (Smartphone)
- LG Chocolate (KG800) (Phone)
- Siemens S55 (Phone)
- QStarz BT-Q818 (GPS receiver)
- Logitech HS04 V01 (Headset)
- Cellink BTHS-6023-F (Headset)
- MSI MS-6967 PC2PC (Bluetooth stick)
- Trust BT-2100p (Bluetooth stick)

I used to have a Logitech MX-900 mouse but the batteries died.

2. Do you use the Bluetooth menu in the panel? If so, what for, and
   how often?

⁻ The panel is used to access the devices, files on the (smart)phones and
sound manager for the headsets, the only device thats doens't have an entry
there is the GPS receiver (gps mouse), I use this mainly with my treo 680 in
combination with TomTom, but it would be nice if I could use it via the menu
to use location awareness in Ubuntu (empathy, via geoclue for example),
it would also be nice if I would have more options in the menu for the
devices, i just think of syncing my (smart)phones via bluetooth, the only
option I have now is to 'open' the device, so thats file access.

3. Do you use Bluetooth devices with any OS other than Ubuntu? If so,
do you find it more or less convenient, and why?

I only use Ubuntu.

Re: [Ubuntu-be] IRC meeting 03/02/2010 - report

2010-02-16 Thread Dirk Tas
Hello Jan,

I agree with you on this one, but I don't think Canonical will sell or
produce the Localized cd's we want, but even then I would let them
burn/print in Belgium.

Sorry I'm sharing my opinion via this mail. I am never available on a
Wednesday night to participate to the meeting.

about topic 2 (the ubuntu CD):
 a) the wiki talks about 919 Euro for 1000 CDs. Canonical sells their CDs
for far less (158 Euro for 200 CDs). I think they deserve our support.
 b) If we decide to make a local CD, I would NOT outsource the work outside
to Morocco, China, or other countries. It beats the object of going local.
If a local option is not feasible, why not outsource it to Canonical? Has
 anyone tried to ask them?

 Just my 2 cents.

 Regards,
 Jan.

Re: [Ubuntu-be] Filmpjes belgische release party herk de stad

2008-06-02 Thread Dirk Tas
Stani,

Dirk

Op maandag 02-06-2008 om 18:43 uur [tijdzone +0200], schreef Stani:

 Hi Pierre,
Thanks for your help. I knew both of them but I thought google would
give more visibility. I've uploaded them all to Google Video, but
their service seems under huge workload, so after a day the movies are
still not published. In the end I chose also to upload them to blip.tv
as they are the only site with good support of ogg. They were
published there within an hour, so I will upload some more videos
 there this week.

Sorry, again I will post in Dutch as I am too lazy to translate and
the videos are in Dutch anyway. So these are about videos of the
presentations of the release party at Herk de Stad. Check them out if
 you were not there!

 So here I go:

 lijven.):

 Sfeerimpressie:

 http://blip.tv/file/956076
 http://blip.tv/file/get/Ubuntubenelux-JohanVanDijkHardyHeronGeschiedenisEnVernieuwingen468.ogg

andere audio/video bestanden afsluiten, inclusief Firefox.)

[Bug 205049] [NEW] Asus A6T does not have wired network,..

2008-03-22 Thread Dirk Tas
Public bug reported:

When installing my ASUS A6T with Hardy Heron Beta 1 I noticed that my wired
network didn't work, it detected the right hardware (Realtek RTL8111/8168B Pci
Express Gigabit Ethernet controller rev01) and loaded the driver (r8169) but
doesn't get an IP from DHCP. Also my graphics card is detected as (nVidia
Corporation G70 [GeForce Go 7600] rev a1) but I don't see an option in the
restriced drivers, the same for my wifi card wich is detected (Broadcom
Corporation BCM4318 [Airforce One 54g] 802.11g Wireless Lan Controller rev 02)
but does not show in the restricted drivers, however when copying the firmware
for this wifi card it just works.
The sound on the A6T works but can't be changed in volume ! when trying to
change it with the 'fn' buttons it shows on the screen but I can't change it.

Re: [Ubuntu-be] Un truc... cursus linux

2008-03-05 Thread Dirk Tas

 Niet te vergeten uiteraard: volwassenenonderwijs.

Prima idee.

 aanpassen, nalezen, aanvullen, enz.

De man maakt z'n cursussen zelf

diepgaande informatie terug.

 Groetjes,

2007-05-17 Thread Dirk Tas
Hello,

Whats the problem with taking the looks from the ubuntu-nl.org website and
changing it for the belgium website ?
I like the dutch website alot.

Dirk

Hi all,

I would like to give my opinion on the website thing. I will not comment on
the drupal vs ubuntu-nl thing directly. I will only give my general opinion
on website development.

I think developing a website from scratch is not a good idea anymore these
days. There are a lot of good content management systems available, so idealy
a website should built on such a solid base.

To give an example: when I helped writing some code for the
support-points-map, I had the feeling we were reimplementing functionality
that has been implemented a thousand times before... (no offense). We were
implementing a profile system while, for instance, Drupal has a profile
system that can be easily extended with new fields.

For example: the User Control Center we are developing at ULYSSIS
(https://ucc.ulyssis.org/) is completely built using Drupal modules.

just my 2 cents
Wouter

Beste Guy,

Frederik Dewanckele

 Dear all,

A lot has recently been said, mostly in Dutch, about ubuntu-be.org and
formal structure. Last january[1], an unanimous decision was made by
about 15 volunteers at a real-world meeting. We decided to put off the
creation of a formal legal entity for ubuntu-be.org.

At the same time, it was decided to do some important bits of
formalisation work. Two examples: clear descriptions of
responsibilities within ubuntu-be.org and creation of a bank account.

Any suggestions on steps towards further incremental formalisation are
welcome. For the time being, that does not include creation of a
formal legal entity. Cooperation with established formal legal
entities should probably be discussed at a real life meeting.

 Sincerely,

 Mark
