do you mean 5.1/7.1 or you have 2.1 or 4.1 speakers ? It does not matter. As long as x.1 that is with subwoofer, it would happen. It is simple graphic interface issue. If you have x.1, choose x.1 then move subwoofer sliding volume controls or whole volume control. I may not be answering your question mario but the last time when I used nautilus, columns became re-sizeable so I thought that was enough. At least it was useable thought it might be incovenient. #1243659 is not a bug, it's a wanted upstream change ... dragging over a folder enter this one to let you browse subdirectories I should not talk about it here but nobody talk about this so I am describing here. If that's not a bug then the spec is wrong. Have you ever tried to move a file at bottom of folder that contains at least 20 or 30 folders, to a folder that is located at top? If we move slowly, it defenetly would be caught by a folder on the way. When it has to be scrolled, it is impossible to reach there. I am not trying to play a game. This is very tricky to avoid the problem. If you release nautilus as a game, it would be great because it is very difficult. Right now, I have to open the target folder as a new tub then I can move a file to the folder tab because I can move a mouse fast enough or it would not require scroll. The many new specs seem to be completely wrong. It would happen with MKV, too. Changing subtile seems to be OK. When I turn off subtitle, it would happen. I hope someone fix it ASAP. The developpers must have extremely wide monitors. My regular computer monitor for documents is 90 degree turned so it would have been horrible but very luckly I did not upgrade it. First of all this new downgraded nautilus folder section holds its width and I cannot even change the width at all. Then when I go deep down lower folders or open folder with long name, it would squeeze down the Name part and I cannot even see names anymore. Then when I go up to upper folder or root, I cannot see the names anymore becaue location column takes up all the space. Once I click one of the unseen folder, I may see the names again. I though you can reproduce theis situation very easily. I have 3 ubuntu computer and it would happen on all of them 100% and everytime. You just need to click torrent download link twice then it would crash. I added sudo. But it kills whole pulseaudio and it does not even work as usual. If it was a movie, subwoofer may last about two hours but when it was songs, we would have to change the mode every time when the song change. This is simple GUI behavior problem. Nothing to do with environment. 4.1, 7.1 or any hardware, it does not matter as long as x.1 wich is with subwoofer environment. The subwoofer only outputs lower frequencies from a stereo signal, not from a true subwoofer signal. I know it. I am talking about GUI problem. For instance, when I change the volume of left speaker, the volume of subwoofer would not change. However when I change the volume of front right speaker, the sound of subwoofer changes. if outputs lower frequencies from a stereo signal is the subwoofer sound, it should be affected by both right and left and maybe rear speakers but the output is conmpletely dominated by front right speaker. I suspect this problem is not depend on hardware as long as x.1 mode. Michael, Are you sure you have not tried to fix it yet? The problem does not occur any more. Printer side or something else has been fixed if you did not try. Thanks! P.S. I am sorry to ask you here but is there any way I can scan and over write on existing scanned screen? Right now I have to delete it every time when I scan next paper. The original scanner function is simply over write and renew every time when I scan new. And it also crops before scan or scan only limited area so that it would be quicker when I scan small item. After I switch with ctrl+alt+F1 then kill the nautilus. it usually come back but it sometimes reset by itself. This problem is originally created by Totem but should I report it as a nautilus bug. I forgot to tell one important thing that may related to this issue. I have dual screen. The main monitor is top on the secondary screen. I usually play videos on the secondary screen so I click and drop on the secondary screen. Another bug that can not show pictures is definitely related to dual screens because the video show at main screen briefly and disappears then no pictures on secondary screen. I just wonder people who do not see this issue may not have dual screens. I still figure out how to get this issue 100% but it occurs so randomly. The folder that caused this issue once won't do it the second time or ever. Since I am avoiding this issue, I have not encounter this issue for awhile. If you had very good CPU, it may not occur. When it happens, the mouse icon stays hand mark without folder name therefore the process does not seem to be catching up. Because this is a fatal issue and it happens all the sudden, I did not want to reproduce but now I probably can kill the process without reseting, thanks to Mahendra Tallur, so that I will try to make bugtracker. By the way, If you click and drug a folder with single video such as WMV or AVI file into TOTEM, would it play? - to unlock the mouse you actually have to kill the nautilus process from the text console. This way you don't need to restart the X server. To do this process, do I have to have text console ahead of time? There is nothing I can do other than ctrl+alt+delete for me. I assume even if I had text console ahead of time, I would not be able to focus the console. Could you tell me more detail of how to kill, please? It is not limited to a specific file. It can happen to any WMV file possibly even AVI file. If you drug any WMV file and drop into TOTEM, it would happen. I have the same version. It won't happen every time. It occasionally happens. When you play a movie, do you double-click and play? If you do, please drug and drop a folder, folders, a file or files to play every time when you play. It will happen.
