Olá, esta semana baixei o Ubuntu 9.04 e gostaria de ajuda pois não tenho 
conhecimento algum neste Sistema Operacional.

Primeira questão´seria de instalar a internet e compartilhar a mesma com ouro 
computador o qual usa o Windows Vista.

 

Tenho o PC com ubuntu 9.04 que será o principal, e está conectado ao modem e 
adsl. Tenho neste PC duas placas de rede, uma para o adsl e outra conectada 
através de cabo a placa de rede do outro computador.

to local media outlets once Canonical releases it officially.

Czech

please stop by #ubuntu-marketing and ping me (boredandblogging),
Martin (beuno), or Cody (cody-somerville).

VERY IMPORTANT - We must absolutely must respect the embargo on this
press release. This means the press release cannot be given out to any
press agencies, or posted on blogs, wikis, mailing lists, or any other
publicly viewable web site. We don't want to mess this up, because it
will be harder to get official press releases next time. Therefore, we
will only hand over the press release to LoCo members who are Ubuntu
members. If your LoCo doesn't have any Ubuntu members, stop by
#ubuntu-marketing and we can discuss it.

tem varios solucoes/posivel causes:

1. $ sudo apt-get update -o Acquire::http::No-Cache=true
2. Usar outro repositorios (One of the archive servers in the
round-robin DNS was out of sync,)
3. o problema esta com sua proxy (proxy that delivered stale data)
4. Sua copia local do release gpg esta mais nova do que o servidor
(your local copy of the release/release.gpg file is newer than the
version on the server and that causes apt to assume that there is no
new version for download)

se quiser abrir um bug report pra tenta resolver o problema faz:
$ sudo apt-get update -o Debug::Acquire::http=True 2>/tmp/apt-http.log

e colcar o arquivo no bug report

Well folks, we are getting closer and closer to the release of Ubuntu
7.10, the Gutsy Gibbon, and it is going to rock like a good ‘un when it
comes out. Now, I need to draw your attention to something that is
always important when we put out a new release - Release Parties!!

When a new Ubuntu hits the streets, groups from around the world
(typically our incredible LoCo Community

of the release. This gives everyone a chance to get together, have some
fun and celebrate another chunk of Ubuntu being born into the world.
Well, the next release is Thu 18th October 2007 and it would be great to
have a worldwide blanket of release parties going on.

If you like the sound of this, follow these simple steps:

  * Where possible, find and join your local Ubuntu LoCo team

acho que pode ser o processo 'zombie' ou 'orphan' ...no caso do 'zombie' tu tem 
que descobrir o
'parente' e matar-lo...no caso do 'zombie' usar pstree pra descobrir a parente 
assim :
$ pstree -pa

no caso do 'orphan' o init do sistema vai limpar automaticamente entao nao 
precisa faz nada

Galera
Trabalho com projetos culturais e sou professor de arte na rede pública
estadual. Acabamos de receber um pequeno laboratório de informática na
escola - umas 20 máquinas -  rodando em linux PRD (distribuição do
Programa Paraná Digital, voltada à escolas públicas).
Com as máquinas na mão a idéia é começar a estruturar uma rede de saberes
sobre a utilização desta tecnologia no ambiente educacional, para ter um
final feliz, sem frustrações, para educadores e educandos : ) ... ,uma vez
que muitos professores jamais tiveram contato com esta ferramenta... Peço
então a vcs  referências sobre o tema "Jogos Educacionais em Linux",
contatos de outros laboratórios e experiências em escolas...
Além disso, de acordo com a disponibilidade de cada um, estamos aberto à
iniciativas voluntárias para formação continuada dos professores (open
office writer e calc, Impress seria legal para produção de animações
dinâmicas e interfaces multimídia... pesquisa avançada na rede... etc..)

muito grato pela atenção.

Intruders Tiger Team Security is a project entailed with

The Intruders Tiger Team Security (ITTS) is a group of researchers
with more than 10 years of experience, specialized in the development
of intrusion projects (Pen-Test) and in special security projects.


All the projects of intrusion (Pen-Test) realized until the moment by
the Intruders Tiger Team Security had 100% of success.

D-Link AirPlus XtremeG 2.4GHz Wireless Access Point, 54Mbps/108Mbps (802.11g):

D-Link, the industry pioneer in wireless networking, introduces a performance

D-Link DWL-2100ap is one of the most popular Access Point in the world.


III - DESCRIPTION:

Intruders Tiger Team Security identified during an intrusion project (Pen-Test) 
an
unknown vulnerability in the Access Point D-Link DWL-2100ap, that allows an 
attacker
to read device's configuration, without authentication with web server.

Extremely sensible informations are avaible in the configuration of the Access 
Point
D-Link DWL-2100ap, for example:

- User and password used to manage the device.
- Password used in WEP and WPA.
- SSID, IP, subnet mask, MAC Address filters, etc.


IV - ANALISYS:

Making a HTTP request to the /cgi-bin/ directory, the Web server will return 
error 404 (Page not
found).

Making a HTTP request to the /cgi-bin/AnyFile.htm, the Web server will return 
error 404 (Page not
found).

However, making a HTTP request to any file in /cgi-bin/ directory, with .cfg 
extension, will
return all the device configuration.


For example, making the following request:

D-Link DWL-2100ap Access Point does not allow disable the Web server, not even 
has options to
filter ports.

We remember that the D-Link DWL-2100ap Access Point comes configured with 
default user /
password (user:admin and no password).



V. DETECTION:

Intruders Tiger Team Security confirmed the existence of this vulnerability in 
all firmwares
tested, also the last version 2.10na.

Possibly other(s) D-Link Access Point model(s) can be vulnerable also.


VI. SUGESTION:

D-Link company:


1 - Use strong cookies to guarantee that only authorized users will get access 
to configuration.

2 - Store sensible configurations like password(s) using hash(s).

3 - Allow create firewall politics and rules to filters port(s) and IP(s).

4 - Request to the user change the default user/password on the first logon, 
and not allow
change the password to the last one used.

5 - Use HTTP with SSL (HTTPS).

6 - Contracts specialized companies in Pen-Test and security audit, aiming 
homologate the
security of D-Link products.

Next week, we will begin the process of preparing the final release of
Ubuntu 6.06LTS.  This will be the last phase of the release cycle, and the
period of highest caution to avoid regressions.  Uploads may be subject to
manual approval by the archive administrators during this period.  And yes,
it is far too late to propose new features. ;-)

The Release Candidate is scheduled for Thursday, May 25th, and the final
gold release for the following Thursday, June 1st.

We will be coordinating a comprehensive test cycle for installation and
basic functionality of the system.  During the final two weeks, we expect to
prepare several candidate CD builds, each of which will be tested according
to a pre-arranged plan.  Anyone is welcome to participate in this testing
process, and the greater participation we have, the more quickly we can
cover the necessary test cases and identify any critical issues.  Note that
at this stage of release, we will primarily be concerned with problems which
would necessitate a delay of the final release.  Non-critical issues will be
recorded and considered for post-release patches.  A detailed announcement
of the testing process and instructions for participating is forthcoming.

As usual, the development team will be coordinating with each other on IRC
during this period, on #ubuntu-devel.  Please be courteous and aware of the
serious nature of this effort, and keep off-topic conversation to a minimum.

Hi folks -

We're getting ready to close ShipIt to Ubuntu 5.10 (Breezy) requests but
still have some inventory remaining.  Can any of you make use of more
CDs? I understand that there is a tendency to discount these CDs because
a new version will be out soon, but they are still valuable and can be
useful for many people and organisations.

We are already out of the PowerPC/Mac version, but have plenty of x86/PC
CDs left and a small number of the 64-bit PC edition.

If you can make use of these, please place a request in the next day or
two at shipit.ubuntu.com.

As for the new Ubuntu 6.04 CDs (Dapper), we will be opening ShipIt for
requests for these in the next few weeks. There will be an announcement
at that time, so please wait till then to request Dapper CDs. As before,
we will make a special effort to prioritise shipments for LoCo teams, so
when you enter the request, indicate that you are representing a LoCo team.

The artwork for the Ubuntu 6.04 CDs will be placed on the wiki in the
next few days as well so that you can print your own. It will likely be
on the DIYMarketing page.

Hello Ubuntu Lovers!

If you ever found something is missing in your life, it might be just a
Hug Day. The nice feeling to help out somewhere, get things sorted out,
make people happy, work with a nice bunch of people and maybe learn
something at the same time. Sounds ridiculuous? We don't think so. The
success of Ubuntu's BugSquad [1] is one indicator, the rising amount of
fixed and triaged bugs is another. Some of Ubuntu's teams even moved to
weekly bug targets [2] and do well.

This is the perfect time to get things sorted, the last bugs reported
upstream, annoyances fixed and make Dapper the super-stable Release we
wanted to have. As the BugSquad promised to do 'themed' Hug Days, this
time the Kernel Team gets our love and we help them to sort things out
[3]. [4] has some information we can ask for, we'll try to dig out
duplicates and make sure the Kernel Team is happy again. YOU can be the
next Kernel expert on your block!

Kernel master Ben Collins and friends will entertain us and show us
where to get cracking.


Planning is one thing, but we'll surely stick to our concept of success:

closes a bug, then someone else should hug him/her. Why? This is a very
special way for us to tell everyone that we love contributions! And
triaging bugs is a really big contribution.

annoying bugs. Fixing these bugs will give extra points and extra hugs
of course.

  * gather all the information needed so developers can fix bugs,
  * close useless bugs,

[Ubuntu-BR] Blender translation for Dapper release

Hi,


In preperation for the up coming Dapper Drake Ubuntu release
and the Blender 2.42 release we are hosting a translation day to help
individuals who are unfamiliar with the translation process, or who
are experienced translators but have not translated for Blender to
help get involved.

For those unfamiliar with Blender, Blender is a full featured 3D digital
content creation tool - it can do modeling (subdivision, point by point,
 metaball, curve, and nurbs); uv mapping; texturing (node based,
 procedural, paint, or image based); rigging; weighting; animating;
 rendering; node based compositing; and has tools for fluid simulation;
 soft body dynamics (cloth and jiggling); hard body dynamics (physics);
 particle based hair; standard particles; and a full scripting system and API.

We would like Blender to be available to as wide an audience as
possible and a big part of that is having Blender and its
documentation available in a language that the user can understand.
So if the idea of having people in your local communities be able to
use Blender to create cool 3D content appeals to you, please come help
translate this Blender Translators Day.  All help will be greatly
appreciated.

Sunday the 9th of April is Blender Translators day.

We will meet in #blenderwiki on irc.freenode.net at two times

We will have people there to help with various issues, such as getting

We are setting up a mechanism for localising the Ubuntu browser start
page. For that, we need some translators to get busy and do us a
translated version.

Please take a look at the attached index.html, decide amongst yourselves
who is going to do the translation, and send me the translated version,
explaining which locale it is for.

Please try and ensure that I don't get more than one copy for each
locale, otherwise it will get confusing.

Sorry not to do this via Rosetta, but html is a bit of a pain to get
into a pot template. I promise that all other documentation will be in
Rosetta, soon.

[Ubuntu-BR] Ubuntu Certified Professionals (ingles)

Today the Linux Professional Institute (LPI) and Canonical Ltd. jointly
announced the development of a certification exam for the Ubuntu
distribution. This certification exam will enable qualified candidates
to demonstrate specific expertise in the professional use of Ubuntu
. The certification exam will be launched in
Johannesburg, South Africa, May 16 - 19, 2006.

The Ubuntu certification will consist of a single exam on top of LPI's
existing 101 and 102 exams. This will give candidates the advantage of
an existing global standard, LPIC-1, plus the “Ubuntu Certified
Professional” status. The exam is being developed by LPI's product
development team and Ubuntu community members from around the globe. The
exam is expected to be completed in early May with the first paper exams
being available in mid-May to qualified LPIC-1 candidates who are
attending LinuxWorld Johannesburg. The computer-based testing version
will be made available later in June through Thomson Prometric and
Pearson VUE testing centres around the world. Initial exam price has
been set at $100 US.

Announcing the Hug Day (or Bug Day?)

With Feature Freeze past us, we finally can focus on getting bugs fixed and get 
all the bits and
pieces together. The best thing for us to do at the moment is getting an 
overview over our bugs.
We'll have a Hug Day to to help our Bug Team to get up to scratch and 
everything sorted.

 We're going to have lists of things to do of different Ubuntu teams, so we can 
better track the
impact we had. Planning is one thing, but we'll surely stick to our concept of 
success: the Hug
Day. This is a very special Bug Day: on Hug Day, when someone closes a bug, 
then someone else
should hug him/her. Why? This is a very special way for us to tell everyone 
that we love
contributions! And triaging bugs is a really big contribution.

In addition to that we added UbuntuBugDay/BugsForExtraPoints - a page where you 
can list your most
annoying bugs. Fixing these bugs will give extra points and extra hugs of 
course.

Who can join the Hug Day? Everyone. You don't need to be a developer. You don't 
need to know to
code. Everyone is welcome. If you don't know how to help, then just come and 
we'll explain you
everything.

Where to join the Hug Day? #ubuntu-bugs on freenode IRC. And you can go there 
every other day too!

When to join the Hug Day? Next hug day is on March 17th, 2006 In all timezones.

[Ubuntu-BR] Call for help Dapper localisations (ingles)

Ola,
A major goal for Dapper is to improve Ubuntu's language support, particularly
for those languages with complex display and input requirements like Korean,
Japanese and Chinese in all its variants. In order to bring this about, a
dedicated team is working on localisation issues in London this week. However,
we need community input to get things right, which is where you come in.

We have a framework in place, and need some specific information for each
language. If you use Ubuntu in a language that needs some configuration to
get right, we would REALLY appreciate it if you would help us make sure we
have it perfect for Dapper. In particular, experience with Fontconfig is
needed.

The goal is to get things working out of the box: if, for example, you select
Korean in the installer, the correct fonts and input methods should work
without additional configuration. We need reports of cases where this doesn't
currently happen. Ideally these will be confirmed with recent Dapper
installations.

[Ubuntu-BR] [OFF-TOPIC] Politica de Desenvolvimento do Estudio Livre

Salve,

5a feira passada (09mar) aconteceu no Piolim uma reunião com as
pessoas que irão participar da equipe de pesquisa  (em São Paulo) pelo
Cultura Digital em 2006, e hj (13mar) teve reunião com o hacklab sobre
o desenvolvimento do EL.

Foram definidas duas frentes de desenvolvimento:

1.Pesquisa Multimídia; referente aos tutoriais, traduções e pesquisa multimídia.
2.Sistema; referente ao ambiente web do EL (tikiwiki).

Como o Estúdio Livre além da plataforma de trabalho dessa equipe, é um
ambiente de pesquisa colaborativo, pensamos em uma política de
desenvolvimento e pesquisa o mais aberto possível ao mesmo tempo em
que pudéssemos vislumbrar um horizonte de trabalho. Isso se deve pelo
fato de reconhecermos (1) a grande importância da participação da
comunidade do EL no desenvolvimento do site, de um lado, (2) o fato de
parte dessa comunidade ser financiada pelo Cultura Digital/Minc, por
outro.

Decidiu-se que eu serei o mensageiro entre estes dois mundos
(comunidade e culturadigital), na tentativa de representar os
interesses da comunidade em relação às duas frentes de desenvolvimento
(Pesquisa Multimídia e Sistema). Peço, portanto, a compreensão frente
as limitações do ser humano em avaliar as coisas e ter um julgamento
minimamente imparcial. Assumo a bronca sabendo nunca estarei agradando
a [EMAIL PROTECTED] mesmo dando o melhor de mim.

Na tentativa de efetivamente investir no desenvolvimento do EL pela
comunidade de usuários, serão realizadas "Chamadas para Trabalhos" que
financiará o desenvolvimento de trabalhos previamente requisitados
pela equipe Cultura Digital/MINC. O pagamento acontecerá via RPA. O
formato dessas chamadas e o valor dessas bolsas ainda está em
discussão.

As informações sobre como colaborar com o desenvolvimento do EL serão
disponibilizadas aqui:

1.Pesquisa Multimídia

A pesquisa está relacionada a produção de conteúdos para o EL, em
tutoriais, textos e traduções sobre softwares livres multimídia. Será
preciso um esforço bastante grande nesse primeiro semestre para suprir
a carência do EL em determinadas áreas, para tanto, também serão
realizadas algumas "chamadas para trabalhos" no EL.

Conversamos sobre como o trabalho deve se desenrolar nesse ano; sobre
como a pesquisa deve estar atrelada ao processo das oficinas; da
necessidade de produção de material básico para pesquisa e suporte aos
pontos; da manutenção do fluxo de informação e documentação das
produções locais durante e principalmente após as oficinas; e do
objetivo real do EL em se tornar um portal livre de documentação e
acesso a informação para interessados em produção multimídia com
software livre.

As áreas de pesquisa do EL, por enquanto, estão divididas em 3 sessões:

*Áudio
*Vídeo
*Gráfico

Cada uma delas dividida em 6 subsessões:

*Softwares  – com páginas individuais para cada um dos softwares, com
informações sobre, guia de instalação, descrição da interface,
tutoriais de uso e referências para pesquisa.
*Equipamentos  – com informações sobre equipamentos para produção multimídia.
*Produzindo – reune textos que ajudem a desmistificar o processo de
produção de áudio e a circulação de Conteúdos Livres.
*Fóruns – fóruns de discussão.
*Acervo – acervo de conteúdos multimídia livres e projetos colaborativos.
*Links – referências de pesquisa na web.

De acordo com o conteúdo existente, serão decididas em breve as
prioridades e um cronograma para o desenvolvimento da pesquisa
multimídia, assim como o formato das "Chamadas para Trabalhos".

2.  Sistema

Também é de grande interesse que a comunidade colabore com o
desenvolvimento do sistema (tikiwiki) e interface do EL, que neste ano
terá atualizações periódicas. Para facilitar o acesso e troca dessas
informações, foi criado o ambiente de desenvolvimento do EL.

Onde  devemos discutir coisas relacionadas ao desenvolvimento do
código do estúdio livre como um todo, tipo relatar bugs, cadastrar
novas demandas de funcionalidades ou interface.

Para testar os novos recursos e concertos, também foi criado o

projeto colaborativo, se apropriem das ferramentas livres de produção

peço desculpas mas eu fiz besteira quando mandou pro lista o Easy Ubuntu...

tem que toma cuidado com isto. Há uma razão boa porque o Ubuntu * não * vem com 
estes software e
configuração.
Na maioria  dos casos, está porque o material que está sendo instalado é 
non-livre e as vezes
quase ilegal. Em outros casos, é para razões do qualidade e da confiabilidade.
Tem que toma cuidado com estes 'one-shot' instaladors como EasyUbuntu ou 
Automatix.
Se você tava pensando porque o Ubuntu não pode ser alterado com um 'shell 
script' simples
provavelmente tem uma razão muito boa.

colocar o videozinho em  /var/uploadfiles/incoming

/usr/bin/bittorrent.sh make-all

esse vai criar o arquivo torrent e mv o videozinho e o arquivo .torrent para 
/var/uploadfiles/share.

assim a galera pode browse para:
http://www.yourserver.org/files/torrent/videozinho.torrent

e o torrent vai iniciar automaticamente quando clickear usando gnome-btdownload 
que esta parte do
sistema ubuntu
