[Bug 55444] Re: Freeze live CD in dell dimension 2400
I can verify that the system hangs terribly in this situation. I do not know the cause, nor did I attempt to change to a differant tty. I can tell you, however, that Kubuntu does not have this problem in the least. I am operaing a Dell Dimension 2400 right now running Kubuntu Live, and everything is running excitingly smoothly. [Bug 59513] Re: Rhythmbox freezes a lot
It seems that I run into the same issue. When I open Rhythmbox and play some music, it sometimes happens that I can listen to the music but that I cannot use Rhythmbox anymore (I minimize it to the tray, maximizing does not work then anymore). When the current song ends, a new song does not follow (but it does normally). Rhythmbox causes a cpu usage of 95% then. Neil, is this the same issue that appears for you or do I have to create a seperate report? I noted that there is a grey piece on the screen that which seems to be part of the Rhythmbox current song notification. I cannot right or left click on it. When I kill Rhythmbox, it disappears. I am still at a loss. I monitored the cpu utilization On dapper vs edgy when using glxgears. I have a Centrino Duo 2300. [Bug 57626] Re: [Bug 57626] Re: Network Monitor Icons look stretched out on 1280x768 resolution
I don't know how to get the wireless icon up there if you don't have a wireless card, but I think this is definitely an artwork related bug. I found the problem icons and for each one when I right clicked them nautilus could not read the image size information. It should read them as 24x24. Here is where I found the icons: /usr/share/icons/Human/24x24/status/network*png /usr/share/icons/Human/24x24/apps/gnome-netstatus*png If the panel can't read the size information from the image like nautilus can't, you would imagine it would default to some big size like it's doing now. -- Network Monitor Icons look stretched out on 1280x768 resolution https://launchpad.net/bugs/57626 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

this still doesn't work for edgy and upstream (evolution) is apparently not going to fix this. since this is a very visible and annoying bug in ubuntu, and since the fix (above) is very simple and has no chance of breaking anything, i'm sure matt will allow it. i know you guys don't like deltas, but i would bet that the patch would promptly be accepted upstream (in gnome-panel). this is especially true because most other distributions maintain their own version of this fix. -- Clicking on date in calendar applet open previous date in Evolution https://launchpad.net/bugs/42115 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

x11-common is hardly depending on X, it contains no xserver, no drivers, it's just some common files. It's installed size is 580k. I'm using the latest (stable) version of Ubuntu Dapper Drake. I just tried to open a file on a remote FTP (which I accessed by entering my keyring password (as I had saved the original password in the keyring) and Gedit popups and asks for the password (why does it? I have allready accesed it through the keyring (I hope you understand my english). Also I tried to enter the real password instead of the password for my keyring but that doesnt help anything for the authentication required-dialog just reappears after each attempt to connect. I have also at the same time done a backtrace but that doesn't seem to help (but I don't know for sure) but I paste it here anyway. GNU gdb 6.4-debian Copyright 2005 Free Software Foundation, Inc. [Bug 57548] Re: Shut Down and Restart buttons gone--hibernate instead
The gdm.conf is attached, and here's the contents of gdm.conf-custom (because it's shorter and I can only attach one) # GDM Configuration Customization file. # # This file is the appropriate place for specifying your customizations to the # GDM configuration. If you run gdmsetup, it will automatically edit this # file for you and will cause the daemon and any running GDM GUI programs to # automatically update with the new configuration. Not all configuration # options are supported by gdmsetup, so to modify some values it may be # necessary to modify this file directly by hand. # # To hand-edit this file, simply add or modify the key=value combination in # the appropriate section in the template below. Refer to the comments in the # gdm.conf file for information about each option. Also refer to the reference # documentation. # # If you hand edit a GDM configuration file, you should run the following # command to get the GDM daemon to notice the change. Any running GDM GUI # programs will also be notified to update with the new configuration. # # gdmflexiserver --command=UPDATE_CONFIG configuration key # # For example, the Enable key in the [debug] section would be specified by # debug/Enable. # # You can also run gdm-restart or gdm-safe-restart to cause GDM to restart and # re-read the new configuration settings. You can also restart GDM by sending # a HUP or USR1 signal to the daemon. HUP behaves like gdm-restart and causes # any user session started by GDM to exit immediately while USR1 behaves like # gdm-safe-restart and will wait until all users log out before restarting GDM. # # For full reference documentation see the gnome help browser under # GNOME|System category.
