[Bug 75419] please sync haskelldb (0.9.cvs.601-5) from debian/unstable (main) to universe, ubuntu override ok.

2006-12-11 Thread StefanPotyra
Public bug reported:

Hi,

please sync haskelldb (0.9.cvs.601-5) from debian/unstable (main) to
universe, ubuntu override ok.

haskelldb (0.9.cvs.601-15) unstable; urgency=low

  * debian/DBDirect.1: added man page for DBDirect.
  * debian/rules:
- Do not ship DBDirect in libghc6-haskelldb-dev. (Closes: #402335)

 -- Arjan Oosting <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>  Sat,  9 Dec 2006 19:22:29 +0100

haskelldb (0.9.cvs.601-14) unstable; urgency=low

  * debian/control:
- Add haddock to Build-Depends-Indep and autotools-dev cpphs to
  Build-Depends.
- Add haskelldb-doc binary package (Closes: 387664).
- Add link to homepage of HaskellDB.
- Add a versioned Build-Depends on dpkg-dev as we use
  ${source:Version} and ${binary:Version}
  * debian/haskelldb-doc.{dirs,doc-base,docs}: added.
  * debian/rules:
- Use up-to-date config.guess and config.sub from autotools-dev.
- Update the rules file to generate haskelldb-doc.
- Use cpphs and sed to generate a src/Database/HaskellDB/DriverAPI.hs
  file which can be parsed by haddock.
  * debian/mk-haskell-depends: update script to take installed package
configuration files as arguments.
  * src/Database/HaskellDB/DriverAPI: remove some haddock annotations
which make haddock fail.

 -- Arjan Oosting <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>  Sun, 26 Nov 2006 20:56:52 +0100

Strangely, I missed the -14 upload for the last merge, probably it was still in
debian's new queue or not yet sponsored.
The remaining ubuntu changes were only:
+ debian/rules: remove binary from library package, as it's shipped
  in the -bin package as well.
This is fixed with #402335, done in the last upload by Arjan.

Thanks,
 Stefan.

[Bug 70981] Re: OO attachment won't open in Kmail

2006-12-11 Thread SEAQ - Andres Mujica
Ok, if i try to open the attachment from kmail i've got this message in
openoffice:

/tmp/kde-myusername/FileName.sxw_[randomchars].sxw  doesn't exist

if i try several times it changes the randomchars until it open the file
(not always, most of the time the file won't open at all)

if i look at /tmp i can find the file, not one time but twice... and
it's with this path and name:

/tmp/kde-myusername/kontactHidFOb.3/filename.sxw

/tmp/kde-myusername/kontactkg4wta.3/filename.sxw

if i open it from ooo file picker it opens fine.

tracking down your problem.

It is of particular interest that you run apport-retrace against your

Which Java package do you have installed?
Which firefox extensions do you have installed?

[Bug 75423] pcmciautils should include driver firmware from pcmcia-cs

2006-12-11 Thread Daniel Brownlees
Public bug reported:

Now that pcmcia-cs is deprecated, the firmware for various pcmcia
devices is missing.

I got around the bug when using my compex linkport ethernet card by installing

/lib/firmware/tamarack.cis
However this is somewhat of a hack :)

This has been happening over and over, so I'm going to finally submit a

gnome-panel will crash resulting in Amule quitting and the loss of many

[Bug 71008] Re: bash command type -p doesn't evaluate correctly in shell scripts

2006-12-11 Thread T McCool
** Description changed:

- The following shell script use to work underneath drapper but doesn't
+ The following shell script use to work underneath dapper but doesn't
  work correctly anymore underneath edgy - for some reason the bash
  command 'type -p' is within a script it tries to evaluate the -p as a
  file name. Example:

  #!/bin/sh

  WINENAMES="wine"
  WINEEXEC=`type -p $WINENAMES | head -n 1`
  echo "WINEEXEC=$WINEEXEC"

  produces WINEEXEC=-p: not found

  But run the expression `type -p wine` on a command line and it works
  correctly and produces /usr/bin/wine

The preference tabs have been redone upstream for firefox 2.0 which is

Few things:
I recently replaced the cpu in my laptop with a faster one.
That's why i keep a close look on the temp of my cpu.
When i woke up this morning it was "blowing" like mad and according to
the attached graph i had been doing for a while.

During the day i walked away from my laptop a few times and each time it
was "hot". I switched to virtual console and with top identified beagled
eating all cpu.

[Bug 75435] digikam expects trash to be in ~/Desktop/Trash - causes error in Ubuntu

2006-12-11 Thread Menachem Shapiro
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: digikam

I am using digikam version 0.8.2-2ubuntu1 in Ubuntu (Gnome based). I
tried to delete a picture and got an error message saying "could not
rename file FILENAME" (where FILENAME was the name of the file it was
trying to delete).

I looked around and found this bug report on KDE's site:
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123120

In the comments on the bug, someone advises to link ~/.Trash to
~/Desktop/Trash. Doing so solves the problem, and deleting the file is
possible.

I am assuming that this is because KDE (and Kubuntu) uses
~/Desktop/Trash as the trashcan, while Gnome (and Ubuntu) uses ~/.Trash.

Can the program be tweaked to look for the trash in either place?

[Bug 75436] libwavpack.la missed in libwavpack-dev 4.40.0-0ubuntu1

2006-12-11 Thread Igor Goldenberg
Public bug reported:

I think it's typo in libwavpack-dev.install:
debian/tmp/usr/lib/libwavpack.a* /usr/lib

It's need to be:
debian/tmp/usr/lib/libwavpack.*a /usr/lib
to include libwavpack.la in the package.

[Bug 75437] Request to remove dekorator from Feisty archives

2006-12-11 Thread Juan Carlos Torres
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: dekorator

The package "dekorator" in Feisty is an older dekorator version
(0.2fix1-1). Feisty already has kwin-style-dekorator, which is the most
recent version (0.3).

[Bug 9805] Re: Use performance governor during boot

2006-12-11 Thread Peter Cordes
I thought bootup was mostly I/O limited on most systems, unless the
readahead really gets almost everything into the cache. disk seeks are
slow, and there are a _lot_ of small config files to read. And then
there's sleeps while modules detect hardware after they load, and
network (dhcp) delays.

 Won't a reasonable governor bump up the cpu speed when needed? It
seems like a real waste to have the cpu at full speed while waiting for
DHCP.

 Of course, I can't argue with real data. What CPU, RAM, and disk do
you have? and how fast is your disk: RPM is a pretty good measure of
seek time, and hdparm -t /dev/hda is a useful sequential read test.

[Bug 75437] Re: Request to remove dekorator from Feisty archives

2006-12-11 Thread Juan Carlos Torres
The dekorator package has no rdepends. The request is for both source
and binary to be removed.

[Bug 75420] Re: [edgy] right click for popup menus on status bar and navigation bar and search bar triggers menu items

2006-12-11 Thread funsnail
I suspected a problem with an extension so I disabled all of my
extensions. The multiple popups stopped. I then enabled the extensions
one by one to see which one was the culprit. The multiple popups did not
start again. So, my problem appears to be fixed for now.

I can recreate the problem now. Disabling ANY extension and restarting
will stop the problem and I can start the problem again by doing save as
from the right click menu on an image in a web page.

[Bug 75438] seconds CPU uses "performance" governor after resume

2006-12-11 Thread Peter Cordes
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: powernowd

Apparently the kernel handles ACPI suspend by using CPU hotplug to stop
all but one CPU, and then using non-SMP-safe freeze code. This results
in the symptom I see on my core 2 duo desktop running AMD64 edgy: after
a resume, the governor for the second CPU is "performance", even though
powernowd is still running, and the first CPU is still being governed
properly by the userspace governor.

(The easiest way to check the current state is to run cpufreq-info from
the cpufrequtils package).

 So powernowd needs to do something after a resume, probably by dropping
a script into /etc/acpi/resume.d.
