Re: [Bug 234629] Re: supybot !web title leaks LAN HTTP servers to the channel
Hi bascule, thanks for pointing out the regex but it's hard or impossible to concoct one that stops LAN access. Blocking numeric IP addresses isn't sufficient. I argee this plugin is dangerous by default and yet nowhere in the documentation, or during selection of this plugin, does it warn the user to consider whether their network set-up would be vulnerable. I think that's a bug that needs addressing. Chatting on the supybot channel, I was told it should be obvious to anyone that this can happen and that's what network DMZs exist for. Well, it wasn't obvious to me since there's a lot of plugins and considering the security implementations of each of them would take hours. -- supybot !web title leaks LAN HTTP servers to the channel https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/234629 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 209342] Re: IBM T40 breaks under Hardy with 2.6.24 kernel
I'm experiencing the same problem; I suppose it's too late for 8.04.1. I see the instructions for using git bisect to track down the bug, but since it's present in (so far as I know) all versions of Hardy but none of Intrepid, I don't see how I could possibly do a git bisect across the two trees (ubuntu-hardy.git and ubuntu-intrepid.git). If you have more detailed instructions, I'd be willing to attempt to track down the offending commit. I haven't worked with git before, but I'm willing to take some time to work on this. I'm building 2.6.25-1.2 from the intrepid sources now to make sure that works for me. (The copy that was in the PPA is no longer there.) I'll post a follow-up if that doesn't fix sound, wireless and that long wait on startup. [Bug 255290] [NEW] mail(1) cannot send to address containing an equals sign
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: mailutils Ubuntu 8.04, mailutils 1:1.1+dfsg1-3.1. Attempting to unsubscribe from a mailing list, I did mail announce-unsubscribe- [EMAIL PROTECTED] /dev/null (`$private' is me replacing a simple plain domain name I wish to keep private.) mail(1) returned without error. Later, I receive various bounces. mail gave the Postfix SMTP server on localhost three separate recipient addresses. [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] Postfix has added the [EMAIL PROTECTED]' to those addresses it was given that didn't have domain names. So mail(1) handed over announce-unsubscribe-subversion = [EMAIL PROTECTED] IOW, it seems to consider the equals sign as a word boundary and split the desired address there, resulting in three addresses, one just `='. I suspect this is because during argument processing, mail(1) seems to turn the contents of files like ~/.mailrc into command line arguments that precede those given by the user, and the processing of these handles things like `foo=bar' to set a variable. This probably splits it into `foo', `=', `bar', and it is later treated as three destination email addresses. Note, other destinations like mail foo,bar /dev/null result in email being sent to `foo' and `bar'. I don't know if this is deliberate, but it doesn't appear to be documented in http://www.gnu.org/software/mailutils/manual/mailutils.html.gz#mail Regardless, mail(1) cannot send to the valid unsubscribe address mandated by a mailing list and is erroneously splitting the address into parts. ** Affects: mailutils (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- mail(1) cannot send to address containing an equals sign https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/255290 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 255297] [NEW] please include debian patch to enable old certificates UI
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xulrunner-1.9 Please include the patch from debian's xulrunner 1.9 package that adds the nsIBadCertListener interface back to xulrunner. That way, browsers other than firefox that want to support a sane certificates UI (e.g. epiphany which will pick this support up automatically via a configure check for its 2.24 version) can do so. Note that this does not affect browsers like firefox that do want the new insane UI; it will still work. ** Affects: xulrunner-1.9 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- please include debian patch to enable old certificates UI https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/255297 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 255296] [NEW] dual/multi screen/monitor/display on linux/ubuntu
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: firefox-3.0 When running multiple monitors with individual x sessions, I cannot open Firefox on more than one monitor without using separate profiles. Firefox complains that it is already running. There is a workaround involving multiple profiles, but it is a clunky way of doing it. Assumed problem: Firefox is prevented from opening the same profile more than once, possibly because this can cause sync problems, or broken files. OS: Ubuntu 8.04.1 Packages: firefox3 (3.0.1+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.3) Behaviour: Firefox starts ok on each screen when started only on one screen, but trying to start an instance on a different screen, results in a message saying that firefox is already running. Expected behaviour: I would expect Firefox to be able to start separately on all screens, regardless of whether it was running on another screen already. Ubuntu side of things depends on the Ubuntu team (i.e. they can tell you when 'published' uploads happen, i.e. when new packages are built). [Bug 217846] Re: Slow suspend/resume in Hardy
Changed status as confirmed as this problem is obvious for anyone not relying on first listed eth0 interface: All machines connected thru wifi (usually listed as eth1) are at least concerned. I added a fix from a duplicate bug to cope with this, but it's far from perfect (will set up an unused interface if a cable is plugged during a session?): MII management to check link up should be checked by eth drivers and MII interrupt used to react to link status change and associated eth setup/re-configuration. Also assigned to kernel team that should be in charge of ethernet modules? Or maybe someone here will read assigned bug and know where this annoying one should go for a real fix.
