[Bug 294740] [NEW] many hidden konqueror processes running
Public bug reported: I am running Kubuntu 8.04. I've been running into the X.org Maximum number of clients reached messages. While I'm monitoring the output of xwininfo -root -children -tree, today I noticed that I have 190 konqueror processes running. I currently have only two Konqueror windows open and a total of 8 tabs between them. What gives? [Bug 294738] [NEW] Mouse button problem in 8.10
Public bug reported: I have a Logitech LX7 usb/wireless mouse on my amd64x2 system. The mouse has the normal three buttons (left, right, and wheel) plus two small thumb buttons. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: apt I have to operate a network that is isolated from the web. [Bug 292473] Re: KDE4 in Intrepid lacks translations for messages with context or plural forms
Launchpad issues have been fixed yesterday (and they affected only 113 templates, which is not too bad considering the total number of KDE4 templates). This is partly the problem of Launchpad translations, which I filed as bug 294198. We also found an issue with language pack building in Ubuntu (eg. kturtle was not affected by Launchpad issues at all, it's just that PO files were processed on the build machine which had a really old gettext which ignored all msgctxt entries). So, the next step is for us to roll out a new language pack. We'll be doing that tomorrow after we also copy new translations done only in Hardy to Intrepid (see https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu- translators/2008-November/001911.html for details). Once we roll the language pack out (basic reason is to fix KDE4 issues), please help us test it. As far as your other concerns go, part of the problem is that Ubuntu lacks a dedicated translations coordinator (or a team). This is being actively worked on (Canonical is hiring a new person to take that job full time), and I am sure this will make huge impact on how Ubuntu translations work and appear. -- KDE4 in Intrepid lacks translations for messages with context or plural forms https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/292473 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

[Bug 290339] Re: Window List sometimes mixes up windows from different workspaces
Regarding my examples 1 3 in the bug description, I have to make a correction based on further observation: It seems that this is not a bug, but only an irritating behaviour: Sometimes if I open an app which was maximized when I last closed it, and the app did not remember the maximized state but the position and size of the window, the new window will be slightly misplaced. Therefore, it could leak a few pixels into the next or previous workspace, which may or may not clearly visible. Since the window then is partially on this other workspace, too, its icon is displayed correctly in the window list. So, this is NOT a bug (and my description was wrong, because it can be seen on DEmaximized windows which just happen to be nearly as large as if they were maximized). However, the 2nd example, which is also what Andreas reported, is independent from the other ones. [Bug 294753] [NEW] ImageJ chooses wrong java home
Public bug reported: ImageJ fails to run on an amd64 system if ia32-sun-java6-bin is installed. It fails with the error message Running a 64-bit JVM is not supported on this platform. This seems to be due to the script /usr/bin/imagej setting JAVA_HOME by JAVA_HOME=$(/usr/sbin/update-java-alternatives -l java-6-openjdk | head -1 | cut -d' ' -f 3) i.e. the top line returned from 'update-java-alternatives -l'. This happens to be ia32-java-6-sun, even though /etc/alternatives/java points to /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-openjdk/jre/bin/java. The script then finds out using 'uname -m' that it is a 64 bit architecture, and therefore passes '-d64' to java. This would work on a 64 bit jvm, but not on the 32 bit jvm chosen by the script. I guess update-java-alternatives is not the correct way to determine the default java home. I don't know the correct approach, but this seems to work for me: JAVA_HOME=$(dirname $(dirname $(dirname $(readlink /etc/alternatives/java Also, I guess the script strictly should make sure it's a 64 bit jvm instead of just using 'uname -m' ** Affects: imagej (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- ImageJ chooses wrong java home https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/294753 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
