[Bug 344508] Re: [TOSHIBA Satellite M40] suspend/resume failure
Hi Leann, Here is the information: My system is right now (on 2009-03-29) up to date for Jaunty. The problem still occurs. The problem happens during waking up after a Suspend. The falling into sleep seems to work properly, meaning that at the end the Power-LED is slowly blinking. The problem is quite good reproducible. I say quite good, because I also had a successful suspend/resume sequence on my system yesterday. [Bug 309021] Re: firefox and abrowser metapackages should have same version dependencies
This bug is about the lack of a same version dependency for the metapackages. That is, it's currently possible to have firefox 3.0.8 +nobinonly-0ubuntu2 installed at the same time as firefox-3.0 3.0.7 +nobinonly-0ubuntu2. I don't think this is an intentional situation. I would expect the firefox 3.0.8+nobinonly-0ubuntu2 metapackage to have the following dependencies: firefox-3.0 (=3.0.8+nobinonly-0ubuntu2) firefox-3.0-branding (=3.0.8+nobinonly-0ubuntu2) I mentioned abrowser only because the situation equally applies there too, not because there is a bug with one but not the other. This is a bug of low importance, but I still think it's a bug. ** Changed in: firefox-3.0 (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid = New -- firefox and abrowser metapackages should have same version dependencies https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/309021 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 350956] [NEW] Rename Computer Janitor
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: computer-janitor 'Computer Janitor' makes it sound a very general application, and gives users the idea that it should do other things, such as empty the recycle bin. [Bug 350955] [NEW] cpufreq-applet: cpu scaling starts always with performance should be ondemand
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-applets On Intrepid the cpu frequency scaling was set to ondemand after reboot. In Janty beta it is now performance. Is this on purpose? [Bug 349535] Re: gdm crashing randomly while unattended
Thanx for your answer, Bryce. I'm ssh'ing from home now and I see that friday night it happened again (I left the pc logged it and with a regular bunch of apps running just for testing). I'm attaching Xorg.0.log. Below is also the output of lspci. Regarding the backtrace, I'll install the packages with the debug symbols and leave again the pc logged in. I have a couple of questions, though... since it seems I can't force this to happen other than waiting it happens during the night (or a long unattended period). Should I launch gdb from another computer or will it suffice if I run it from a text console like tty1 or tty2? [Bug 344508] Re: [TOSHIBA Satellite M40] suspend/resume failure
And continuing with my information gathering...: Today I wasn't able to resume successfully from a suspend. I always had to switch off power manually forced. I also had a blinking CAPSLOCK lamp after a resume trial, but only one time so far. Normally I have to push the power-button for about 5s in order to switch off the power and cause a system reset. Sometimes even this doesn't work and I'll have to remove the battery. Hybernate still works properly. The Suspend works very fast, a estimate about 4 to 5s. When I trigger a resume by pressing the power button then it takes only about 2 s and the system hangs. When I then force a power-off and restart my system, a crash report is indicated for reporting to Launchpad. I have ATI mobility X300 and I find radeon driver performance to be acceptable. However there's another problem that makes the driver unusable for me. It's the lack of support for powerplay technology. Using open-source driver my computer lasts just 1:20h on batter power as opposed to 2:30 on fglrx. I use my laptop on the go and I do need that extra time. Since there's no way to downgrade xserver I'm gonna spend the afternoon reinstalling ubuntu 8.10. If I knew this before the upgrade I wouldn't do it. I think this lower battery time on older ati cards issue should be highlighted somewhere in the upgrade notes. Maybe even on the downloads page once jaunty is out because many new users switching to ubuntu have older hardware. -- MASTER: fglrx does not support xserver 1.6 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/313027 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 350961] [NEW] Adobe plugin via updates is broken. Version from Adobe's website works with no issues.
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: firefox-3.0 From aptitude they both look the same: i adobe-flashplugin - Adobe Flash Player plugin version 10 However the Adobe version is Shockwave Flash 10.0 r22. The update version is a newer version, not released by Adobe, and has some issues like you can't click within a flash animation, and the settings popup (privacy, camera, microphone) does not allow you to click it or close it. Here is what is installed on my system now, it is working perfectly. However if I allow the update it stops working. I would suggest reverting back to the -1 version...
