[Bug 417865] [NEW] Digital output dies after awhile on Kubuntu Karmic with HDA Intel
Public bug reported: I used Kubuntu Jaunty 64. This weekend I lost sound because of unknown reason. I didn't change anything. I was frustrated and upgraded to the development release Karmic. [Bug 417858] [NEW] [Karmic] LS-120 support busted badly
Public bug reported: Prior to the round of updates which broke kpackagekit, my LS-120 was working perfectly. I would stick in a superfloppy, it would spin a few seconds, the "plugged in device" window would open, I would click on the device, Dolphin would open up and display the files and directories on the media. Now, Dolphin hangs when I stick in a superfloppy. Sometimes just the grey window, other times I get the internal white window, but no menu or icons. The system basically hangs. Somethings will continue to function, but not the main KUbuntu launch menu. You are definitely in a reboot situation. Drive works fine with a 1.44 floppy. Someone broke something pretty bad with some ATAPI upgrade and Dolphin cannot handle it. I deliberately applied ALL patches and rebooted, then re-tested before filing this bug on 08-23-2009. There is quite a large pool of us who still use the LS-120, mostly we are authors. We use them for revolving and off-site backups. No, CD-RW is not better. update-grub is just a thin wrapper around grub-mkconfig, as is documented in 'man update-grub'; you can use grub-mkconfig to write the configuration file to some different place. [Bug 417209] Re: 9.10 Alpha 4 has no grub.cfg after install
If you don't have a /var/log/installer/syslog to attach, then please describe *in as much detail as you can* what state your machine was in before you started the installation, and exactly which options you selected during installation. Your goal here is to give us enough information that we can set up a test environment to replicate your problem, since this is not a problem that showed up during our own testing. ** Changed in: grub2 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- 9.10 Alpha 4 has no grub.cfg after install https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/417209 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 368895] Re: gitosis not working after upgrade to 9.04
I've tested all 3 of my debdiffs; they all work, although the first one has some issues with installing into site-packages instead of dist- packages - I've noticed that, while running the actual gitosis scripts works, `python -m gitosis` does not. The reason I can't do s/site-packages/dist-packages/ and s/python2.5/python2.6/ is because of the bug I linked (bug #362570). Doing `python setup.py install --prefix=blah` with Python 2.6, it installs into /usr/lib/python2.6/site-packages instead of dist-packages, which makes everything unhappy. I wouldn't have expected that to matter once python-support gets into the picture (since it moves the modules out of /usr/lib and into /usr/share/python-support/$PACKAGE), but I'll admit that I'm not entirely clear on how pysupport works. But both http://launchpadlibrarian.net/30697473/gitosis_0.2%2B20080825-2ubuntu0.1.debdiff and http://launchpadlibrarian.net/30699699/gitosis_0.2%2B20080825-2ubuntu0.1.debdiff definitely work. I would be fine with either being uploaded. -- gitosis not working after upgrade to 9.04 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/368895 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 347711] Re: Realtek RTL8111/8168B PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet controller Unstable on Jaunty
I had been having this problem too w/ an Asus M3A78-EMH (780G) motherboard ever since the switch from Intrepid to Janunty. I switched to 2.6.31-999-generic #200908211846 from the mainline kernel repository (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeam/MainlineBuilds) a couple of days ago and haven't had any more problems. I've transferred at least 100gig of data so far...So if you're having this issue, make the switch, although I had to patch fglrx to get it to build correctly. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fglrx-installer/+bug/394985 -- Realtek RTL8111/8168B PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet controller Unstable on Jaunty https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/347711 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
