[Bug 477891] Re: keepassx don't copy the password into buffer by pressing Ctrl+C
I observed this problem (same as comment #3), but after a reboot it went away and stayed away for a while (weeks). I figured the explanation of comment #4 was probably why. I just noticed it has occurred. I re-enabled the PPA that had been disabled on my 9.04 to 9.10 upgrade, and upgraded to 0.4.3, but the problem is still there. It might get resolved by a reboot again, but if this is reoccurring, there's clearly something broken. Reinhard Tartler wrote: > seems like an upstream issue to me I don't see any reports upstream. Seems more likely that there is a specific interaction with Ubuntu. If an OS reboot temporarily fixes the problem, but an application restart does not, chances are there is something in the Ubuntu/GNOME environment that is ceasing to work after a period of time. I see an old Debian bug that appears to describe the same symptoms and offers a patch: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=414171 I'm guessing this occurrence has a slightly different cause, otherwise it wouldn't work some of the time. [Bug 601285] Re: flash plugin crashed
Thank you for reporting this to Ubuntu. Sometimes Firefox profiles can become corrupt. Could you please try this with a new profile and see if the problem still exists? You do not need to delete your old profile to test. If this helps, you might want to try to disable all your extensions and re-enable them one by one until you find the problematic one. You can start the profile manager with the following command: firefox -ProfileManager ** Changed in: firefox (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- flash plugin crashed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/601285 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are bugs. [Bug 601520] [NEW] MaxSessions defaults to no limit
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: iscsitarget The default value for MaxSessions is zero, meaning an unlimited number of concurrent connections to the same disk - the only time this is reasonable is with read-only media or via very specialized clustered filesystem scenarios. It's extremely easy with the default setting to corrupt a disk if two computers connect at the same time, and most people using iSCSI are using it with read-write volumes. A far safer default would be to default MaxSessions to 1, and make the uncommon scenario be a non- default. I really want to emphasize, the defaults CORRUPT DATA unless you are extremely careful - many initiators (both Windows and Mac's globalSAN initiator) will try to set up a "persistent" connection where it will log into the disk whenever possible; leave one of these machines on by accident then connecting to the disk on another machine means the filesystem is trashed. This *really* sucks. ** Affects: iscsitarget (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- MaxSessions defaults to no limit https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/601520 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 472770] Re: No Audio in Tv Time using Ubuntu Karmic: not using pulseaudio
I am having the same no audio from TvTime as well. I have a Hauppauge WinTv HVR-1800 and a realtek high definition audio (on board sound). I was running the live cd version of 10.04 64bit. The audio was working when it booted up and I heard event sounds so I know the audio driver is working. I tried every suggestion and still had no sound coming from TvTime. However I did notice 3 things. They may be nothing though. I put the alsa mixer terminal session on my 2nd monitor and put TvTime on my other monitor. I noticed that when I change the volume in TvTime the level for the line in moved as well. That tells me it is not muted and apparently it is adjusting the volume correctly there is just no sound. The second thing I noticed was when I had my logitech quickcam pro 5000 connected TvTime would load and immediately crash. When I unplugged the quickcam TvTime loaded fine. I do know that the quickcam is loaded as a audio device and not just video. I wonder if that has something to do it, at least for me. The third thing I noticed is when I grep for bttv the only lines I got where that the driver was loaded but it did not list any audio. [Bug 579117] Re: Wireless blocks USB-Audio, leading to dropouts
I'm still watching, but I lack both time and ideas. Kubuntu 10.04 does not run pulseaudio so that could be the reason for differences in behavior. (Kubuntu 10.10 will run Pulseaudio, btw.) That there are no "noise floor calibration timeout"s under kubuntu seems interesting though. I'm not sure what it is that Kubuntu does not do in that case. This is a case when there is hard to know the real root cause and what messages are just other victims of the latency, it could be that the calibration timeouts are not the real causes. As for trying different kernels, I think it would be interesting to try linux-preempt (available in Lucid, use Synaptic to get it) and see if it makes a difference. -- Wireless blocks USB-Audio, leading to dropouts https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/579117 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 306982] Re: Expose better UI for file-based restore
This needs to be done in stages: (1.) Add dialog button, for Restore Files/Folder. CRITICAL This should already be present. I petulantly disabled Déjà Dup, and installed Simple Backup, before I found this Bug. (As per Comment #1) "This is not yet a feature. You can however restore files (or folders) using the command line ('deja-dup --restore [FILES...]'), or by right-clicking in Nautilus (? requires extension). This feature will be added in a future release. SEE Bug #306982 ." (2.) Add simple dialog field for files/folders, and feed to command line. IMPORTANT (3.) Add complex dialog box(es), for files/folders, version to replace with, and exception handling. NICE TO HAVE (4.) A Wizard tool, for all of the above. [Bug 598936] Re: xulrunner-1.9.2 fails to install in Ubuntu 10.04 (post-installation scripts fail: "undefined symbol: sqlite3_initialize")
Solved! (At least for my system.) I had a build of sqlite3 in /usr/local (to get a version that was not available in 8.04) and that was apparently getting in the way. This showed up as a failure in the SVN Apache module as well, and another posting led me to check my /usr/local dir, which was the answer. -- xulrunner-1.9.2 fails to install in Ubuntu 10.04 (post-installation scripts fail: "undefined symbol: sqlite3_initialize") https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/598936 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 585938] Re: [STAGING] r8192se_pci + powertop = kernel panic
(For all the people who found this thread by googling) ### REALLY HACKY SOLUTION WHICH WILL (hopefully) ENABLE YOU TO USE r8192 WITHOUT CRASHING IN LINUX ### The usual disclaimer about these kinds of hacks applies -- I am not responsible yada yada, do this at your own risk yada yada, worked for me, not guaranteed to work for you yada yada. Open a terminal (On Ubuntu 10.04 aka Lucid Lynx: Applications Menu -> system tools -> terminal) 1) sudo mv /sbin/iwpriv /sbin/iwpriv.old 2) sudo echo '#!/bin/bash' > /sbin/iwpriv 3) sudo chmod +x /sbin/iwpriv NOTES: 1) I did this on my machine, and was still able to connect to and use wifi normally. 2) Obviously this will likely break any application which depends on the iwpriv command, and also makes iwpriv unsable for you on the command line (unless you use iwpriv.old) 3) Powertop now runs fine without crashing with wifi enabled and running 4) Other applications may still do the same thing as iwpriv which can cause the crash. This fix does *NOT* address the root cause of the problem. I'm still going to look for a real fix for the underlying problem with the driver. -- [STAGING] r8192se_pci + powertop = kernel panic https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/585938 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
