[Bug 579040] Re: ThinkPad W510 only recognizes audio input for Plantronics .Audio 995 usb headset
Some Problem with my Thinkpad W510. But I have found a workaround for me: You have to plug in the soudcard before you boot and you have to use the usb2.0 Port not the 3.0 port. I have no clue, why this is a difference but for me this works. [Bug 634554] Re: fuse mounts hang on xattr retrieval with auditd
Sorry for the delay. I've uploaded a candidate fix, awaiting review by another member of the stable team. ** Description changed: + Impact: If audit is enabled in the kernel, mounting fuse filesystems hangs. + Development branch (and maverick): Addressed by upgrade to upstream fuse = 2.8.3. + Patch: https://code.launchpad.net/~cjwatson/ubuntu/lucid/fuse/audit-hang (backported from upstream - it's not particularly short, but there were three intertwined fixes and this was the best I could do) + TEST CASE: Install auditd and configure a rule, then try to mount a fuse filesystem. + Regression potential: I'd recommend generally playing around with fuse and making sure it still works. Running the udisks test suite might be a good idea. + + Original report follows: + Binary package hint: libfuse2 I'm being struck by the symptoms reported in this bug: - https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=493565 + https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=493565 Namely, when auditd has any rules configured, I can't mount any fuse file-systems. Comment 61 seems to have a pretty solid description of what's happening underneath and the solution appears to be upgrading to a libfuse 2.8.3. Only 2.8.1 (http://packages.ubuntu.com/lucid/libfuse2) appears to be available currently for lucid. [Bug 672549] Re: [MIR] x264
x264 is now built against ffms2, which is a small C++ wrapper around libavformat. the x264 frontend prefers this input frontend over using libavformat directly, because it works around certain issues in avformat and does additionally indexing which greatly helps seeking. Since I guess we'd want to leave the x264 cli (as packaged in the the 'x264' binary package) in universe, the same can/should be done for ffms2, namely promote source, library and -dev package, but leave the frontend ('ffmsindex') in universe. do you require a seperate MIR for the ffms2 package? -- [MIR] x264 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/672549 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 666772] Re: Show titlebars when workspaces are shown
By titlebar, I assume you mean, the window decorations, including the title bar at the top. I've tested that, and I'm not sure it's minimized windows. [Bug 673497] [NEW] Thunderbird constantly polls on unix socket, slow loading of new messages
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: thunderbird When new message arrives on IMAP thunderbird pulls headers successfully and when I click on the message in GUI it starts loading bar at the bottom and tries to load the message body for a long time (10 minutes for example). [Bug 673244] Re: evolution calendar crashes unexpectedly
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. *** This bug is a duplicate of bug 435183 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/435183 Hi Nicolas, and thanks for all your work on fonts. Because some items in Ubuntu Software Center (and in equivalent utilities on other platforms) have a price, USC needs to be clear about all those that do not. In English, we do this by saying that they are Free. I don't know of any other way of doing that that wouldn't look either pretentious (e.g. Gratis), primitive (e.g. Price: $0.00), or pedestrian (e.g. No charge). If zero-price fonts have a stigma in the typeface design community, I think that stigma can more effectively be tackled by organizations like SIL and the League of Movable Type than by a puny software installation utility. :-) We would like to be more specific about the license. That's bug 435183, so I'm marking this as a duplicate. [Bug 673504] [NEW] Pandaboard chooses a new IP address on each boot
Public bug reported: The smsc95xx driver used on the Pandaboard currently generates a new random MAC address every time the interface is brought up. [Bug 673355] Re: yelp crashes with Yelp:ERROR:yelp-document.c:275:yelp_document_cancel_page: assertion failed: (document != NULL YELP_IS_DOCUMENT (document))
[Bug 603854] Re: When installing onto fake raid grub still tried to install to /dev/sda
** Description changed: + Impact: d-i installations onto fake RAID (a.k.a. DM-RAID or SATA RAID) install to /dev/sda rather than to the RAID device. This may work for a while but leaves the boot arrangements vulnerable to RAID elements going away, different device ordering, etc. + Development branch (and maverick): http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-core-dev/grub-installer/ubuntu/revision/869 + Patch: See above; the same patch applies with only an offset. + TEST CASE: Install on a system with DM-RAID using d-i (alternate CD, server CD, or netboot). (Until new CDs are respun, testing the fixed version will only be possible using netboot, and will require 'apt-setup/proposed=true' on the installer kernel command line.) Either watch the GRUB installation step closely, or check the output of 'sudo debconf-show grub-pc | grep install_devices:' after installation (you may need to run the value through 'readlink -f' to resolve symlinks); GRUB should be installed to /dev/mapper/something rather than to /dev/sda or similar. + Regression potential: The variable controlling this code is only set for the DM-RAID and multipath cases, both of which need the same treatment, so assuming it works at all I don't expect anything else to get worse. + + Original report follows: + Binary package hint: grub-installer It was suggested in bug 568050 that I file a new bug for the grub- installer portion of installing onto fake raid. That bug has resolved the partman issues around installing onto fakeraid, so now getting grub- installer to install onto the raid device is the only remaining part to getting it working I think. Attached is a syslog from an install onto fakeraid. The system is installed and could boot off of /dev/mapper/isw_bjffiahcab_Volume0 but grub-installer still chose to install to /dev/sda and strangely reported memory leaks. This seems to be a long standing issue, and is likely a duplicate bug, but I was unable to find exactly the right bug. grub-installer doesn't have any other bugs currently open. -- When installing onto fake raid grub still tried to install to /dev/sda https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/603854 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thanks for pointing this out. [Bug 324232] Re: Any KDE4 application started in GNOME becomes full screen
I am using gnome (ubuntu 10.10). Any KDE app I maximize and quit in this state, when re-launched starts fullscreen (like kdesvn or kgraphviewer). And for apps that have no enter/leave fullscreen its then impossible to break out of this. The problem does go away when disabling the Legacy Fullscreen Support under the workarounds of compiz config settings manager. But I don't know yet if disabling this will screw up something else. There is clearly a bug somewhere. I would guess KDE doesn't feed the correct hints to compiz to signal it wants to be maximized.
