[Bug 653405] Re: rabbitmq-server fails to start if hostname is unresolvable or has changed since first starting
I also suggest to forward this bug to Debian and discuss it with the maintainer there, to avoid a permantently different solution in Ubuntu. I reject the current upload for natty-proposed. [Bug 653405] Re: rabbitmq-server fails to start if hostname is unresolvable or has changed since first starting
Eww, automatically changing configuration files in maintainer scripts? That looks like a no-go to me. It does not even check if the IP already exists in /etc/hosts, or whether the file is used at all (in nsswitch.conf). Can we instead just make the package generate an error debconf note if /etc/hosts is misconfigured and fail gracefully? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to rabbitmq-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/653405 Title: rabbitmq-server fails to start if hostname is unresolvable or has changed since first starting -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 776194] [NEW] Error mails after changing the ntp server
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ntpdate I changed the ntp server using the System menu like described here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuTime But I still get error mails from Anacron: /etc/cron.daily/ntpdate: 3 May 07:45:19 ntpdate[23946]: no server suitable for synchronization found run-parts: /etc/cron.daily/ntpdate exited with return code 1 Maybe the script should be changed to something like this: ntpdate $(perl -ne 'print $1 if /^server (.+)$/' /etc/ntp.conf) 1/dev/null I don't have the need for a ntpd to run ether - the cron job would have sufficed. Re: [Bug 769514] Re: Mail not sent unless relayhost has a port number
amd64 is the architecture name for x86_64. I suspect this is related to the multiarch changes introduced in 11.04 (which is why it works for me on i386 and not for others). Hi there, thank you for taking the time to report bugs and trying to make Ubuntu better. It seems that when trying to remove the package, bacula tries to connect to the mysql datbase to dump it, maybe as a backup. [Bug 776642] [NEW] segfaults from 5.2.4-2ubuntu5.15
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: php5 After upgrading from 5.2.4-2ubuntu5.14 to 5.2.4-2ubuntu5.15 we are experiencing a segfault in PHP code that has been running fine for many months on Ubuntu 8.04. Looking at the patches added to this release, my initial guess is that it relates to the backport of this fix: http://bugs.php.net/52879 The segfault occurs in this code: http://drupalcode.org/project/apachesolr.git/blob/c41231e49f06ab32bb48f34c4a4dc0f21162321d:/apachesolr.index.inc at line 150's function call. [Bug 776650] [NEW] Build qemu-kvm with native VDE support
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: qemu-kvm It would be convenient to build qemu-kvm with VDE support. There is a wrapper 'vdekvm' that comes with vde2 but VDE is better supported directly in KVM. I believe it is simply a matter of adding 'libvde-dev' as a build dep for the package. [Bug 360975] Re: Please add nf_conntrack_pptp and nf_conntrack_netbios_ns to IPT_MODULES
I have fumbled around with this issue for HOURS until I came across this by accident reading through a 2 year old mailing list. This actually isn´t only a problem with samba, it renders WINS hostname resolving impossible! I could not ping hostname. I never thought ufw could be causing problems with hostname resolving, since I had opened up ports 137-139 and 445 as I found somewhere, but after trying ALL kinds of stuff like installing winbind, editing nsswitch.conf, smb.conf, etc. I finally got hostname resolving to work (and therefore being able to access windows share using samba by hostname in Nautilus) by adding nf_conntrack_netbios_ns to IPT_MODULES in /etc/default/ufw.Of course, disabling UFW also works. PS: Maybe we could change this bug report´s name? This is impossible to find for people trying to get hostname resolving to work, samba shares browsable by Nautilus, etc. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/360975 Title: Please add nf_conntrack_pptp and nf_conntrack_netbios_ns to IPT_MODULES -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 774964] Re: package bacula-director-mysql (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed pre-removal script returned error exit status 10
Yes, the problem did occur during removal and I was only able to enter the mysql password once. At the time, it was unclear whether dpkg was asking for the mysql bacula user password or the mysql admin password. I incorrectly assumed it was asking for the mysql bacula password, when instead it actually wanted the mysql admin password. There was no way I could see of going back and re-entering the password. I removed all of the bacula packages and re-installed just the bacula client package. Everything is working fine now. I guess the problem wasn't actually with bacula, but more so with dpkg not allowing me to re-enter the incorrect password and also not being specific enough about which mysql user it wanted a password for. [Bug 769191] Re: Incorrect configuration at installation
Hi Zburatorul, thanks very much for the bug report! So that we can more easily reproduce the problem, Can you please provide the output of sudo debconf-get-selections | grep krb5-config Please carefully obfuscate any sensitive data that you do not want in a public bug report. I tried to reproduce this in oneiric (the latest dev release) and hardy (the oldest supported release not counting dapper which is almost EOL). I was able to use upper and lower case combined to specify the domain, and it worked as I would expect, respecting my exact wishes and consistently putting the same thing in the default_realm and the real defaults section.
