[Bug 822830] [NEW] chrome contents pane blank when window size larger than a particular area
Public bug reported: When browsing, if I maximize the window, or simply resize it past a certain point, the content disappears, and I only see the tabs and URL bar. The remaining content below is simply white. If I un-maximize, or resize the window to be smaller, the content reappears. It seems like if I make the window's area larger than some amount, the contents disappear. Meaning, if I shrink the window's width, I can make it taller before the contents disappear. I have logged into my X session with "classic (no effects)", to rule out compiz. The issue still appears there. I am using the ATI accelerated driver "fglrx" version 2:8.840-0ubuntu4. I just recently installed 11.04, and I want to say that I did not see this problem until I installed the updates post installation. [Bug 809897] Re: Unity launcher appears UNDER windows though screencap shows it on top of windows
Any love for this? I'd really like to see this resolved for Oneiric as it is a pretty bad UI usability issue. The whole point of the launcher on the left side was better use of screen realestate, but if I can't use the launcher because I'm using the screen's real estate, what's the point? As added information: I currently have Thunderbird maximized and it's taking up the entire screen. As long as any application is either maximized or is not maximised but has any part of its window resting inside the area on the left side where the launcher would appear, the launcher will appear BENEATH that/those application(s). I've attached a video demonstrating this behaviour that I took just now on a thinkpad x201. ** Attachment added: "100_0008.MOV" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/809897/+attachment/2262285/+files/100_0008.MOV -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/809897 Title: Unity launcher appears UNDER windows though screencap shows it on top of windows To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/shutter/+bug/809897/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 60901] Re: Slow startup - "Fetching summary information for new messages"
This works worked for me on: Samsung Netbook N150 with Lucix-lynx 2.6.32-33 I actually found a solution while checking how to delete mails from my trash-folder that wouldn't delete no matter how often I told evolution to do it. So here's how it goes. 1. Run a back-up. 2. Go to your home folder. 3. Check the "show hidden files" in the view menu to see all the files. 4. Navigate to ".evolution/mail/local" folder. 5. Select and DELETE all files EXCEPT ending in ".data" AND EXCEPT all files without file-extensions. First start-up will take a while, because evolution will index your files, but next start-up will be in a flash :D I hope this will work out for you, too. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/60901 Title: Slow startup - "Fetching summary information for new messages" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution-exchange/+bug/60901/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 668415] Re: Movement of Unity launcher
Fernando, does Kubuntu offer KDE 3.5 as an option during the installation process? Do any major KDE distro's offer KDE 3.5 support anymore? Most software venders will move on to newer software they have made unless there is a drastic reason why not to, this is the nature of the software business. In the open source business you are free to continue to use the older software as long as you like, and if you don't like that it isn't supported anymore you are free to move to another distro which does support the software you want or even to go further and pay someone to support and update that older software. I have had many issues with Unity, however many of those issues have been fixed in the next version simply because people like you and me put in requests with our issues. My best advice in relation to your feature request is to please do submit bug reports and get involved in the community, that way we can continue to improve Unity and make it so you don't want to reject it. thanks -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/668415 Title: Movement of Unity launcher To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/null/+bug/668415/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 494099] Re: subwoofer stops working after playback ends
When I was using Ubuntu (I am no longer using it on any of my systems) for any 5.1 card, I would have to have the sound properties open while I was playing music, and when a new song came on, I would have to flip the profile from 5.1 to something else and then back to 5.1 for the speakers to work correctly. I am now using another distribution without PA and my hardware works as expected and I am far more pleased. The problem is not a kernel issue as has been alleged earlier on this thread; it is definitely a PA-specific problem, and that logically means that PA is the responsible subsystem. Unfortunately, it would seem that quality sound is not a priority, as it has been broken in every single release since PA was added to Ubuntu—one of many reasons I am no longer using it (the brokenness of sound—and the unwillingness to even acknowledge, let alone fix, long-standing user-facing bugs such as this one is probably the biggest reason that I am no longer an Ubuntu user). I need my computer to operate within specified parameters, and I need my operating system to do the same. It’d sure be nice if the people who claim to support the system would not participate in what we in the States call the “corporate blame game”, where every bug is someone else’s problem, but that is what it has come to over the years. I’m off to find a way to unsubscribe en masse from all Ubuntu bugs I have reported or subscribed to over the years; seems moot that I should still be subscribed to them when I no longer use nor care about the distribution. Good luck to you who pursue a functional sound system in Ubuntu: I sincerely hope you someday get it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/494099 Title: subwoofer stops working after playback ends To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/pulseaudio/+bug/494099/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
