[Bug 980682] Re: postconf can't open main.cf with the result that /etc/resolvconf/update-libc.d/postfix fails trying to copy /etc/resolv.conf onto itself

2012-05-22 Thread Steve Langasek
I've confirmed this fix here. Prior to upgrade,
/var/log/upstart/resolvconf.log showed this error. After upgrade, the
error is no longer happening.

[Bug 1002337] Re: Google Chorme Version 19.0.1084.46 (latest) crashes on clicking Bookmark Manager or Import Bookmark

2012-05-22 Thread Matthew Graczyk
Consider switching to a cloud-based bookmarking platform where there's
no need to backup, sync or import your bookmarks because they are
automatically backed up and inherently synched, and all your bookmarks
are always available using any browser from any computer, mobile phone
or tablet. My company operates http://iCrumz.com, a free cloud-based
Internet bookmarking service. The iCrumz interface allows you to have
100 or more bookmarks on a single webpage without being cluttered.
iCrumz also offers an import function, so you can import and consolidate
all your bookmarks from all your browsers on all your devices. Check out
our short (1 minute) intro video: http://youtu.be/QDD23whIlrw Contact me
if you have any questions. Matthew[at]iCrumz[dot]com.

[Bug 980083] Re: Suspend Fails on P5N-E SLI

2012-05-22 Thread ropers
I have tried this: http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=10800028&postcount=11
which required installing grub 2 (grub-pc in synaptic in the 10.04 LTS repos)
first.

That method did *NOT* fix this issue. Apparently that method is for a
different issue.

(And I have since reverted the changes made to my machine when testing
that, and I'm back to the older grub to, because that was the default in
10.04 LTS.)

---

This looks like it could well be a kernel issue, and from the original
poster's report it seems to still be an unfixed problem in the most
recent 3.x kernels, however it also seems that it used to work in
kernels 2.6.20.x and earlier, so this issue looks like a long-standing
regression.

Another thing that may be worth trying (but that I haven't tried yet) is
plugging in a spare hard disk and completely installing Ubuntu 7.04 on
that to confirm beyond the limited LiveCD test that suspend really used
to work on the ASUS P5N-E SLI back then.

[Bug 1003175] [NEW] hplip indicator is called "python2.7", has no icon in the Unity HUD

Public bug reported:

In the Unity HUD, the hplip indicator shows up as "python2.7" and has no
icon associated with it. This leads to confusion when finding options
for it in the HUD and not knowing what program they are associated with.

[Bug 980083] Re: Suspend Fails on P5N-E SLI

2012-05-22 Thread ropers
I just burned a bunch of different Linux LiveCDs from various
distributions and booted them and tried their suspend features, to see
if someone else has already fixed this problem elsewhere. I tried the
currently most up-to-date live CDs from Debian, Knoppix, Fedora, Mageia,
PCLinuxOS and OpenSUSE. They all had the same problem.

(Maybe it's worth plugging in another hard drive and installing Windows
to see if suspend works there, or downloading older LiveCDs from other
distros that correspond to the time of Ubuntu 7.04 and earlier, also to
see if it works there. But I have not gotten around to either of these
things yet.)

[Bug 985327] Re: package friendly-recovery 0.2.25 failed to install/upgrade: ErrorMessage: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 127

2012-05-22 Thread Brian Murray
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Reviewing your log files attached to this bug report it
seems that there is a problem in the configuration of your
'/etc/default/grub' file. Keep in mind than any kernel parameters
should have double quotes around them like so:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash". Please review your changes
to '/etc/default/grub' and try running 'sudo update-grub' again. In the
event they you are able to resolve your issue please set this bug's
status to Invalid. If you are not able to resolve the issue please
attach the file '/etc/default/grub' to the bug report. Thanks and good
luck!

2012-05-22 Thread Brian Murray
You seem to have a configuration error in your /etc/default/grub
configuration file. You have the following line:

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash" pcie_aspm=force acpi=noirq
i915.semaphores=1

Notice how some parameters appear outside of the quotation marks. This
is incorrect and the line should look like:

[Bug 1003168] [NEW] write through proxy doesn't work with a filename that has a space

2012-05-22 Thread Joseph Isenberg
Public bug reported:

I was trying to se up a write through proxy svn mirror using the instructions
in the svn book. It worked OK until I tried to commit a file in a directory
with a space in the name. The space gets converted to %20 which is fine, but
then the % gets converted to %25 so the space becomes %2520 which is wrong. I
found more info here:
http://svn.haxx.se/dev/archive-2011-03/0641.shtml

[Bug 937522] Re: rdp clipboard sync doesn't work anymore.

2012-05-22 Thread Clint Byrum
Hello! Thanks so much for the SRU upload, and for adding a test case to
the bug description.

While reviewing the upload to precise-proposed, it strikes me that this
is a very large patch which basically adds a feature. Its not clear to
me that the impact of this missing feature is high enough to warrant an
update. Its also not clear at all what the source of this patch is.. has
it been submitted upstream for instance?

Can you please add the necessary "Impact" AND "Regression Potential"
fields, as stated here:

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates

And discuss the origin of this patch, and its status upstream?

I will leave it in the precise-proposed queue for now, please respond
soon by adding the required fields in the bug description.

[Bug 1003167] [NEW] Ubuntu 12.04 fails to return bluetooth dongle to HID proxy mode at shutdown

2012-05-22 Thread Armand Sarkissian
Public bug reported:

Moved from Ubuntu 10.04 to 12.04, clean install. Bluetooth dongle was working
properly in 10.04, swtching from HID to HCI on boot and back to HID mode on
shutdown. In 12.04, the dongle is switched from HID to HCI but is not returned
to HID proxy mode. Failure to switch back to HID proxy mode renders the
keyboard unavailable in BIOS mode.

[Bug 846280] Re: Regression in ike 2.1.7, no longer creates IPsec connections

2012-05-22 Thread Paul Whittaker
@Mike, Geoffrey: Note that "2.1.7+dfsg-1.1" and "2.1.7+dfsg-1build1" are
not the same version. (See versions for Oneiric and Precise at
http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?keywords=ike&searchon=names&exact=1&suite=all§ion=all
.)

[Bug 930707] Re: System doesn't resume on suspend. Shutdown doesn't complete

2012-05-22 Thread Leonardo Morelli
I downgraded pm-utils to 1.4.1-8ubuntu1 (Oneiric version) but the
problem persists (i.e. resuming from suspend does not work) with both
kernels 3.2.0-24 and 3.0.0-19.

Which packages are related to suspend/resuming?
Is it kernel-dependent?
