[Bug 993187] Re: ubuntu 12.04 completely freezes frequently.
I updated to the 3.4 kernel following the instructions in #91 and have experienced no crash after 6h. I guess the fix should be backported to the current kernel. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/993187 Title: ubuntu 12.04 completely freezes frequently. [Bug 952563] Re: blank display on thinkpad x201 after resume from suspend
I have a slightly mor elaborate observation to offer. On our X61, I see the behaviour that lyre describes in comment 10: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/952563/comments/10 I have two user accounts on the system. When resuming, I see the black screen with cursor. I switch to virtual terminal 1 via Ctrl-Alt-F1. I then issue sudo /etc/init.d/gdm restart This restores the login window in X, showing a checkmark to indicate the original user still as logged in. If I try to log in to the same, already-in-session account again, I once again get the black screen with X arrow cursor. Lather rinse repeat. If, instead, I log in to the other, not yet logged-in user, I get a fully operational X session. So much for the observations. As for analysis and speculation, I do not pretend to understand how X, compiz, unity, and so on all intertwine, but the presence of the cursor leads me to believe that X's basic functionality has resumed OK but that something specific to the user session is interfering with resuming correctly. I may try to reproduce this with different desktop environments (eg, lubuntu) to see if that makes a difference and provides a workaround. I need suspend/resume much more than I need Unity. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/952563 Title: blank display on thinkpad x201 after resume from suspend To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/952563/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 593087] Re: missing remote-cert-tls server on client
Mitigation, can use the tls-remote property, set on the UI via Advanced - TLS Authentication - Subject match to the X509 name on the server's local certificate used for TLS authentication. e.g. /C=NA/ST=None/L=None/O=Mullvad/CN=m3.mullvad.net/emailAddress=i...@mullvad.net To get this value, 1. export the VPN config (after adding a dummy value in above field) 2. edit file generated to remove the user and group lines and add a line verb 3 3. run from command line openvpn --config filename 4. From the output pick out the expected value (example above) where it shows an error Limitation: If your VPN service has mutiple servers (resolved via DNS) this will only work for one of them at a time. [Bug 958174] Re: Wireless Mouse not registered on Startup or Reboot
I am using Xubuntu 12.04, 3.2.0-25-generic #40-Ubuntu. I have a Logitech M570 wireless trackball, and I am experiencing the same problem. I came across this on a forum somewhere, and it has been working pretty consistently: Add following lines to /etc/rc.local modprobe -r hid_logitech_dj modprobe hid_logitech_dj I did this. I have tried booting to the desktop with the trackball switch turned on, and turned off. With the switch turned on, it works most of the time. I have actually had better luck waiting until the desktop was fully loaded, and then turning the trackball switch on. YMMV, but I hope this helps somebody as this problem has been driving me bonkers as well. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/958174 Title: Wireless Mouse not registered on Startup or Reboot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/958174/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1016094] Re: System freeze unless booted after Windows has run
Update. This freeze of the desktop also seems to be related to wireless networking. It often freezes the desktop if I try to make a wifi connection. On the other hand, wireless broadband, either via the builtin sim card, or via bluetooth tether to cellphone, rarely if ever locks up the desktop so there seems to be a strong correlation of the desktop freezing with trying to make a wifi connection. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1016094 Title: System freeze unless booted after Windows has run To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1016094/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 637845] Re: [maverick] CPU frequency does not scale up unless all cores are in use
I have been experiencing something with very similar symptoms to this on a Dell Latitude E6410 laptop with Ubuntu 12.04. Looking in /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu*/cpufreq showed that the CPU frequencies were always stuck at just under half what they could do, no matter the load. After finding this ticket I installed cpufrequtils, to get more readable output, with the immediate result that the CPU frequencies started behaving sensibly! I presume that init scripts which come with that package, including the one to load relevant CPU frequency-related kernel modules have something to do with it, but I am somewhat surprised, given the impressive effect that installing the package had, that it isn't installed by default. Does anyone else know something here that I don't? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/637845 Title: [maverick] CPU frequency does not scale up unless all cores are in use To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/637845/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1019083] Re: Quantal A2 failed to automatically connect Centrino Wireless N
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.5kernel[0] (Not a kernel in the daily directory) and install both the linux-image and linux-image-extra .deb packages. Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs- upstream-testing' tag(Only that one tag, please leave the other tags). This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs- upstream-testing' text. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'. If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'. Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as Confirmed. Thanks in advance. [Bug 996113] Re: firefox does not print in contrast to other applications
Daniela, your error_log does not help much, as it does not contain any traces of a print job. You need to print out of Firefox, check with lpstat -o whether the job is in the queue and then wait some time, a minute or so. Only then copy your error_log and attach it. ** Changed in: cups (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete ** Changed in: firefox (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/996113 Title: firefox does not print in contrast to other applications To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups/+bug/996113/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 992603] Re: [Lenovo E525] Touchpad can become disabled after suspend/resume
Thanks for the feedback, Greg. That tells us this bug is fixed in v3.4-rc2 or later. You've already tested v3.4-rc4 and reported it is fixed there. The final two release candidates to test would be: v3.4-rc2: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.4-rc2-precise/ v3.4-rc3: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.4-rc3-precise/ If you find the bug is fixed in rc2, then there will be no need to test rc3. This one seems to be fixed, but on the other hand, I now have a 4G Huawei E398, with which I'm not having any luck connecting with under 12.04. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/426138 Title: Slow and unreliable detection and connection of USB 3G Modem -- Huawei To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/426138/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1016713] Re: Different greys in LightDM shutdown and accessibility menus
OK, finally found time to fix this bug (in the bright-menus branch of Greybird at the moment). [Bug 1013647] Re: no boot at kernel load 3.2.0-25-generic
Uhm. Something unexpected again happened. v3 now boots fine. Mmm... I tested it twice, so the only difference is that I did not install and than purge v1 and v2. ? Maybe, something happens before init is being invoked. Maybe during the installation process, approximately when update-initramfs is being called? Or, maybe, it's a random problem? I tested the system and it seems to work fine. It usually works perfectly and consistently with kernel version 3.2.0-24... Boh? :) Let me know how can I further help. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1013647 Title: no boot at kernel load 3.2.0-25-generic To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1013647/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
