[Bug 1041303] Re: Feature freeze exception request: Plz update Onboard to 0.98.0 targeted at quantal
Francesco asked me to add to this FFE request, so here's my list of reasons, why I believe current Onboard 0.97.1 should be superseded. Onboard v0.98... - uses Python 3 by default and drops all Python 2 dependencies (if not told otherwise) - is compatible with Quantal's Xinput 2.2 (scanner) - is compatible with Quantal's libdconf1 (migration of preferences) - moved its gsettings path from apps.onboard to org.onboard, as requested (LP: #982699) - stacks on top of Unity Dash again (Dash window name changed) There aren't many new features this time, the most notable perhaps being support for key shadows and dwell-enabling the floating icon. Most work has concentrated on Word Prediction, which isn't ready for widespread release yet. The usual number of assorted bug fixes and enhancements include better multi-monitor support, better working Menu and Super keys and keeping Onboard on top of full-screen windows (force-to-top mode in Unity only). Testing was done in Unity, GNOME Shell and GNOME Classic, but no more in Unity-2d, since it was dropped from Quantal recently. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1041303 Title: Feature freeze exception request: Plz update Onboard to 0.98.0 targeted at quantal To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/onboard/+bug/1041303/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1039751] Re: Does not use the Ubuntu wallpaper
I have serious doubts that this will change. In no small part due to my belief that weston has no ability to read a centralized config file (no /etc/weston in which to specify an ubuntu wallpaper). I believe weston is not intended to ever be used, directly, by many people. Instead it is expected that existing X11 window managers will add wayland support, and people will continue using them instead (compositing window managers (compiz, kwin) adding support for the wayland protocol, and non-compositing window managers (awesome, blackbox) either becoming weston plugins, or adding compositing, etc.). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1039751 Title: Does not use the Ubuntu wallpaper To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/weston/+bug/1039751/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1041354] Re: unity-panel-service since yesterday uses ~100% CPU, may be related to LibreOffice
finally got a libreoffice crash, reported as bug #1041865 it is on Quantal i386 logged as gnome-classic (unity purged no ppa around). [Bug 1040271] Re: showDesktop encountered a problem after right-clicking on icon
sure, but i'm a little uncertain about what the bug-description should mention? First, I think that this old Xinerama extension should be replaced by XRandr (but it's not really the problem here ;) ). The problem here is that there is a crash when XRRGetScreenInfo is used and Xinerama is enabled. I *think* it shouldn't have any crash here (and I guess XRRGetScreenInfo should return 'NULL'). But now, it's hard to know if this bug is due to your video drivers, to XRandr or if it's normal to have a crash there (but it's the first bug report about that and this code has been added more than 2 years ago (2009-12-19)). *@Ubuntu-X*: What do you think about that? :) *@rednammoc*: if there is no answer, it can be interesting to report this bug directly to FGLRX devs and XRandr devs ( https://bugs.freedesktop.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=xorgcomponent=Server%2FExt%2FRandRversion=7.6%20%282010.12%29 ). Maybe I'm wrong (@fabounet: can you confirm that?) but I'm sure that they will be able to help us even if it's not due to one of these 3 projects ;) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1040271 Title: showDesktop encountered a problem after right-clicking on icon To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/cairo-dock-plug-ins/+bug/1040271/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1041872] [NEW] screenshot of graph does not show functions
Public bug reported: Using the Screenshot function under the graphics tab in lubuntu 12.04.1 results in the output showing the Cartesian grid, and any drawings I've done on the grid, but no functions. That is, anything done with the paint and text tools remains on the screenshot, but none of the functions I've graphed show up. [Bug 1041871] [NEW] No sound for Logitech G930
Public bug reported: Release: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Package: pulseaudio: Installed: 1:2.0-0ubuntu1~precise2 Candidate: 1:2.0-0ubuntu1~precise2 Version table: *** 1:2.0-0ubuntu1~precise2 0 500 http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntu-audio-dev/ppa/ubuntu/ precise/main i386 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 1:1.1-0ubuntu15.1 0 500 http://ca.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise-updates/main i386 Packages 1:1.1-0ubuntu15 0 500 http://ca.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise/main i386 Packages Expected Behaviour: Sound plays. What happened instead: No sound can be output. Steps taken: On a fresh install of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, I have tried to get sound to output with my Logitech G930 and nothing happens. I first tried to select the device in System Settings Audio, but that locked up. The only way to get the Sound setting pane to open up is by killing the pulseaudio process. But this doesn't get me anywhere as the Sound setting pane is then empty. I opened up alsamixer to see if the devices were detected, and they are indeed. I see HDA Intel, Logitech G930 Headset, and HD-Audio Generic. None are muted, and all seem fine (well, Logitech G930 is a bit minimalistic) but still nothing happens. I then tried to type in aplay -l, which outputs List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices but then it just locks up there. Additionally, trying to connect to the PulseAudio server using paman fails, but running pulseaudio in the console says: E: [pulseaudio] pid.c: Daemon already running. E: [pulseaudio] main.c: pa_pid_file_create() failed. ** Affects: pulseaudio (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1041871 Title: No sound for Logitech G930 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/+bug/1041871/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 510656] Re: Periodic hanging of firefox with status jbd2_log_wait_commit
I see this issue with Mozilla Thunderbird 14.0 on a recently re-installed Ubuntu 10.04 LTS on a Compaq V2414 laptop with AMD Turion64 processor and 2GB of RAM. The uninterruptible state of TB is fairly frequent, though this does not prevent me from working in parallel with other applications. Though I cannot confirm this now, I have had this issue earlier with Firefox which led me to abandon it in favour of Google Chrome. Googling seems to indicate that this has something to do with the underlying journalling file system though I do not know enough to be sure. I request someone knowledgeable to may be shift this report to appropriate place / classify this as Linux issue rather that Mozilla software. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/510656 Title: Periodic hanging of firefox with status jbd2_log_wait_commit To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox-3.5/+bug/510656/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1040873] Re: [N56VZ, Realtek ALC663, Black Headphone Out, Right] No sound at all: Subwoofer not working
Hi Raymond, -- can you be more specific when saying: use jack sense of 0x16 to change the stereo profile to surround5.1 profile of pulseaudio? Also I read realtek's article but I am not sure to understand what SPDIF-OUT has to do with CEN/LFE... As you can see I am not really keen on ALSA pulse technical stuff... :-( -- Anyway, after some days of testing, I noticed another (very) annoying thing: I have to Set the mode to Analog Stereo Output and then to Analog Surround 5.1 output in the sound settings panel between each song I play to keep the CEN/LFE working. To be more clear, let's say: a. I start a song (e.g. using rhythmbox, but it is the same with vlc or banshee) b. I do the trick Analog Stereo output-A=Analog Surround 5.1 output to make the CEN/LFE works c. I jump to another song d. At this point the CEN/LFE stops work, and I have to do again the trick Analog Stereo output-A=Analog Surround 5.1 output to make the CEN/LFE works. [Bug 1041881] [NEW] Reinstalling a large server (without formatting) appears to hang during 'Cleaning up' due to updatedb.mlocate
Public bug reported: I've just reinstalled a server for a 3rd party using Ubuntu 12.04.1 Server AMD64. I did so non-destructively, i.e. chroot'ed into what would become /target, did 'mkdir old-machine; mv -iv * old-machine/' and then had the partitioner re-use the partition as / without formatting it. After installing packages, the install seemed to hang at 97% saying it was 'Cleaning up'. When I logged in on another console, I discovered it was running updatedb.mlocate, presumably across the entire disk, including the original contents. After about 20 minutes, it eventually finished and the install continued. I'd suggest either: a) not running updatedb.mlocate unless all partitions are due to be formatted or b) improving the dialog/progress indicator to make it clear what's happening and that it may take some time if you had a lot of pre-existing data. ** Affects: debian-installer (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1041881 Title: Reinstalling a large server (without formatting) appears to hang during 'Cleaning up' due to updatedb.mlocate To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/debian-installer/+bug/1041881/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
