[Bug 1074951] Re: I get an icon for a floppy drive in Unity and Nautilus , but i have none
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.7 kernel[0] (Not a kernel in the daily directory) and install both the linux-image and linux-image-extra .deb packages. Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs- upstream-testing' tag. Please only remove that one tag and leave the other tags. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'. If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'. Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as Confirmed. Thanks in advance. [Bug 1074539] Re: Opening Preferences shows read error for home
I'd like to add that 1) This bug can easily be reproduced by means of a standard Ubuntu Live CD. After booting the Live CD check that opening the preferences works without problems. [Bug 1075717] [NEW] mounted-dev must not re-create consoles in a container
Public bug reported: mounted-dev.conf always does MAKEDEV console. MAKEDEV doesn't just make the devices, it first removes them. When a container starts, it sets up /dev/console and /dev/lxc[1-4] as bind mounts of ptys on the host, for use as lxc consoles. If mounted- dev deletes and recreates those, then none of the lxc consoles work. A simple patch which stops it from breaking lxc consoles is at lp :~serge-hallyn/ubuntu/quantal/mountall/mountall-lxc . However looking back at it, I think it would be ok to do a further check for whether /dev/console exists. If it does not exist, then MAKEDEV console anyway. [Bug 1004932] Re: kdm.conf file not removed after dpkg-reconfigure
Reopening this again as the proposed solution by Harald is not even a workaround but probably considered by the majority of people as a mere hack as ANY display manager upstart script is executed in the first place only to see if /etc/x11/default-display-manager contains a DM of choice or not. With many DM conf files cluttering up /etc/init this adds additional overhead during system start which can be avoided. A way more elegant solution would be for a corresponding DEB-package to check if the conf file for the respective display manager is already present in /etc/init (if disabled enabling it again) - if not, copy it from the DEB package and disabling any other DM conf files present in /etc/init. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kde-workspace in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1004932 Title: kdm.conf file not removed after dpkg-reconfigure To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kde-workspace/+bug/1004932/+subscriptions -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
