[Bug 908526] Re: Shutter indicator somtimes only visible in Expo view
OK, according to http://askubuntu.com/questions/39843/application- indicator-for-shutter, this issue is fixed in Shutter 0.89, which presently is available from a PPA and can be installed / updated thusly: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:shutter/ppa sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install shutter I have upgrade this v0.89 and I'll report back if it DOES NOT fix the problem. If I've not reported back, then you can safely assume that I have NOT encounted this problem again (i.e., I promise to report back here the very first time the problem re-occurs). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/908526 Title: Shutter indicator somtimes only visible in Expo view To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/shutter/+bug/908526/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 908526] Re: Shutter indicator somtimes only visible in Expo view
I think it's important to clarify a few issues with this bug: First, for some of us -- including myself and the original submitter -- the Shutter indicate DOES work and appear in Unity's indicators once Shutter starts. Rather, it's just that, at some point for reasons I've not been able to nail down, the Shutter indicator inexplicable disappears in (all) workspace views, but oddly re-appears in Expo view (compiz) and then re-disappears once a particular workspace has been selected. Obviously, seeing the indicator in Expo view is nice and a way of easily knowing that Shutter is still running, but functionally does nothing (i.e,. clicking on it in Expo view does NOT unhide Shutter). Thus, and secondly, IMHO the really problem here is that, when the indicator disappears in the workspace views, there's NO WAY to access Shutter, because once it's hidden, the ONLY way to bring the Shutter window back is to click on it's indicator. So, since you can't see the indicator, you can't click on it to restore Shutter. Thus, the only solution is to "killall shutter" in a terminal or with Alt-F2 and then re-start Shutter. It's a major annoyance to those of us who regularly make screenshots to help educate users.

Instead have dnsmasq ship /etc/dnsmasq.d-available/lxc and create/remove a symlink in /etc/dnsmasq.d/. (LP: #1113821) * Bump debhelper dependency and add Pre-Depends on newer dpkg for above fix. * Allow the container to mount efivars on /sys/firmware/efi/efivars. efivars is automatically mounted by mountall on UEFI systems, failure to do so leads to a complete boot failure. (LP: #1117589) * 0221-make-nonflush-upgrades-robust: be more robust about out of date container caches. [Bug 1135297] [NEW] Connection times out when transferring 2 GB+ of data across network.
Public bug reported: Ubuntu 13.04 64 bit, February 27th daily image. I installed this same ISO on my laptop and desktop. On both of them if I copy at least 2 GB of data over the network to a different location, they lock up right around the 2 GB mark. The transfer stops and eventually I get an error citing that the connection timed out. Whenever this happens it seems as if I have to restart to regain network connectivity. At first I thought this was a Nautilus or Samba thing, as it first surfaced when I was pushing about 10 GB of data from my 13.04 desktop to my 12.04 Ubuntu Server. However, I tried this using rsync over SSH and it did the same thing, indicating it's not likely a Nautilus or Samba issue. I also thought it was the hardware of my desktop, but like I said, I tried my laptop over wireless and it did the same exact thing. I've seen it happen when the file transfer gets to 2.0 GB or 2.3 GB. Somewhere in there is when I've seen the error pop up. I ran dmesg on my desktop after this happened. I was spamming dmesg as the data was being pushed over the network and I was getting the same output each time, but the second the issue popped up is when the list of DMA entries popped up. [Bug 1135288] [NEW] Upgrade deleted my /opt symlink
Public bug reported: I believe one of the Adobe upgrade packages caused my directory to be unlinked. Usually I symlink this directory to a path on another partition /home/opt>, something I've done since Ubuntu 8 series. After doing an upgrade today that link was lost and in its place was a new with contents . So I assume it is acroread which broke it. I'm using Kubuntu 12.04 with the Muon update manager, but I suspect it isn't related to those components. I've attached a screenshot showing the other packages updated at the same time. [Bug 1015925] Re: openafs: Support quantal’s kernel 3.5
** Description changed: As one might expect, quantal’s new kernel 3.5 breaks openafs again. The upstream deltas to fix it are - [cc63cbb] Linux 3.4: replace end_writeback with clear_inode - [407e7c9] Linux 3.5: encode_fh API change + + [Impact] + Now that linux-image-generic-lts-quantal is in precise main and installed by default, the OpenAFS kernel module fails to build on precise. + + [Test Case] + apt-get install openafs-modules-dkms + + [Regression Potential] + This fix is already well-tested in quantal. (The only difference between precise’s 1.6.1-1 and quantal’s pre-change 1.6.1-2 is translation updates.) It’s a minimal change that has no effect on pre-3.5 kernels, via preprocessor defines. In the unlikely event of a regression, OpenAFS may fail to come up, but the local system will remain usable. + + [Other Info] + Since debian/source/options contains ‘single-debian-patch’, you may need to check that the debdiff was really applied (see comments). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1015925 Title: openafs: Support quantal’s kernel 3.5 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openafs/+bug/1015925/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 539339] Re: Exporting to PDF doesn't display text on other computers
Hi Anthony, This issue has been mentioned elsewhere. I'm hoping it gets resolved, but another user suggested a workaround that I have been using successfully for a long time. Rather than use the built-in "export to pdf" feature, use the "print to pdf" selection from the printer dialog (this is a common feature in many distros, so it should work on yours). - Evan -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/539339 Title: Exporting to PDF doesn't display text on other computers To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xournal/+bug/539339/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1135255] [NEW] nautilus global menubar menu disapears after running for about 6 days
Public bug reported: After starting and logging in to unity3D desktop everything is fine. After running for about 6 days or so, clicking on the nautilus icon in the unity menu bar on the left opens the file manager as expected. However when going to the nautilus global menu on the top panel, the menus are gone and are replaced with a dark brown stub. See attached screenshot. The only way I know how to get the menus back is by logging out and then back in again. Eager to cooperate in solving this annoying bug. [Bug 1135209] [NEW] Run update-auctex-elisp via trigger rather than cron job
Public bug reported: Please backport Debian bug 478733 (http://bugs.debian.org/cgi- bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=478733) into Ubuntu precise (package auctex/11.86-2ubuntu1), which was fixed in auctex/11.86-6. From the bug: update-auctex-elisp needs to run whenever new or changed LaTeX files get installed. Currently, update-auctex-elisp runs via a weekly cron job. Now that dpkg supports triggers, auctex should use that instead, to run update-auctex-elisp on installation of LaTeX. This will keep auctex up to date immediately rather than waiting until the weekly cron job runs, and it will avoid running update-auctex-elisp when no changes have occurred. ** Affects: auctex (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1135209 Title: Run update-auctex-elisp via trigger rather than cron job To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/auctex/+bug/1135209/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

(In reply to comment #39) > I confirm this on KDE 4.10.0 > > Version 0.8.2 > > try "send to..." and it crashes everytime. > > Please, reopen. You crash is due to mixing incompatible (kipi-plugin related ) binaries from different repos, which has nothing to do with this issue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/730691 Title: ksnapshot doesn't send to gwenview To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/kdegraphics/+bug/730691/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 235613]
Problem keeps appearing. I thought it had to do with an USB / serial converter I used on my Ubuntu 10.04 system. Now, on a brand-new Ubuntu 12.04 system with a direct serial link, wine with that version yields the same crash, but with a little different eip: 7bc7962a. Lowering the baud rate makes everything slower. The crash appears later in the program. This must be a wine bug. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/235613 Title: [Hardy][wine][regression] Segmentation Fault in Palm Hotsync over serial To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/openvz-kernel/+bug/235613/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
